She will need to overcome a wide draw here but expect her to run well. GHADAS KOALA (1) resumed from a spell when finishing fast and just failing at Yarra Valley. Fitter, strong claims from ideal draw. JORDAN ASHLEIGH (5) won at Maryborough before an honest effort there at her next outing. Last start she led when finishing third over the longer trip. Good prospects. THREE CARD BRAG (2) is honest. She broke gear last start at Ballarat and was runner up over the short trip at Kilmore prior to that. Has claims. Place best for CYCLONE DORA (4). Should strip much fitter and will be hard to beat. HEAD OVER HEALS (9) although off the back mark was placed at Maryborough and Ballarat before racing in much stronger company at Moonee Valley last start. Small field suits, go close. ROLLIN ONTHERIVER (8) manners have let him down at his last three. Before that he was successful at Yarra Valley. Appears to race well when fresh, don’t dismiss. TEHUAKI (7) was runner up at Cranbourne before third behind IM SO CASSY (3) at Charlton. Go well. SUN BIRD (4) was checked last start. He did win over this trip back in January and was runner at his next start here. Good prospects. LETS ENJOY (5) has some ability and should be included in trifectas. Beaten by JACCKA FELIX (10) at his last two, but the front line draw is in his favour, go well. JACCKA FELIX (10) is shooting for the hat trick after two Cranbourne wins. Second row draw over the sprint course makes it harder here. Top show. RICH PICKINGS (1) is resuming and chased home some very smart types last time in work. Get’s the ideal draw and was a winner over this trip three starts back, hard to beat. THE VADOOCH (11) was held up for a Maryborough placing before leading all the way at Yarra Valley last time. Harder from back row draw but don’t dismiss. THE INNKEEPER (4) was placed in good company at his first two starts. Resuming from a long spell, he could be one at odds first up. MARCHMONT DRIVE (5) returned to the winners list at Yarra Valley last outing. A repeat effort will see him figure in the placings. PANS ILLUSION (11) was a good effort two starts back at Moonee Valley. SUKARI (3) finished fast to just score at Stawell then outclassed last time. Both bob up now and then. SON OF JAM (6) is much better than recent form suggests. Don’t dismiss lightly. GOLDEN GRINDER (10) has won two from his last five both here. Has claims. This appears to be a much easier assignment and will be hard to beat. ASAFA (6) was super impressive when leading all the way at Charlton in quick time. He has plenty of ability and a repeat performance will have him in the finish. THE VALLEY KIGHT (7) scored in a three way finish at Cranbourne two starts back. A wide draw makes it hard here. He should be running on late. CALATRAVA (1) is racing below his best but may sneak a place from the perfect draw. Trifecta chances to SOUSANIA (2) and VILLAGE POP (4). He was narrowly beaten by the smart Victorian pacer Heathbern Diamond at Harold Park two weeks ago then followed with a fifth to Johnny El Gringo on Friday night so looks well placed. AVA LIVING LEGACY (8) follows out behind the fast beginner CAIRN EDDIE GO (1) and has built up a consistent record since coming from Victoria. He was a winner at Newcastle three starts back and rates as a value chance here. JULIUS APOLLO (6) is awkwardly drawn but has been placed in four of his past six starts and possesses a powerful finishing burst. BLUEY MAHONEY (11) seemingly had every chance after trailing the leader last week but is usually competitive against this class and is worth another chance. SCRATCH ME HAPPY (4) has had a few chances in recent times but possesses early speed and will probably appreciate a slight drop in class. JEMAS GLORY (7) is a former Victorian mare, which is making her debut for trainer Trevor Munday but is terribly drawn and SAMMY GREENSOX (10) ran a good enough race last week to suggest that he is a minor place chance. She usually hits the line strongly but may get headed off at the start, which is a concern from the inside draw. CEDAR VALLEY (7) won a race of similar standard when she led throughout then battled on fairly well for fourth after starting from an awkward draw last week. She moves to the front line now and is racing well enough to figure in the finish. ANNIE CULLEN (2) led throughout to win at Penrith two starts back and is likely to head off SCARLET SHIRAZ (1) at the start here so is one of the leading chances. LIVE LOVE LAUGH (8) hasn’t won a race in 18 attempts since winning at Canberra in February 2008 but has the perfect trailing draw and will be suited to racing against her own sex. LUNAR SANDS (4) and MISS ADRIANA (6) could both show up without surprising in this very open race. SOLAR ACTIVE (7) has more gate speed so he gets the nod. JAZZ LEGEND (8) hasn’t been able to work into the race from big handicaps in recent weeks and scored from behind the mobile on March 06 so is worth another chance. Rejuvenated trotter RAYLEIGHS CROWN (2) is shooting for three straight victories and sprinted sharply from behind the leader when he beat JOSHUA ROBERT (9) last week. He is probably better suited under the standing start conditions but is worth thought again from his good draw on the front line. TILTHESUNGOESDOWN (3) continues to race in consistent fashion and the tough mare PINKSTWOTTER (4) is always worth consideration. THE UPPER CRUST (5) has been disappointing this preparation but races best when he is on the pace so he is a possible improver under the mobile conditions. He gets into this race nicely with a concession claim and worked home nicely behind VIRAGE (5) last time so he will take catching. VIRAGE (5) is racing in outstanding form and sprinted sharply from midfield to score against similar opposition last time. He is likely to settle in the second half of the field again tonight and with a small field of six, a slow speed in the early stages is likely so he may need a little luck but he is racing too well to dismiss. MERRYWOOD PRINCE (2) is a grand old campaigner, which looks well placed against this line up and should run his usual honest race. COMET PRINCE (4) worked to the front and set up a fast tempo when fourth last week. He is never far away from the winner and is worth thought in multiple combinations. JARENDAN (3) races best when he is able to lead and may not be able to head off ENJAYS CAM (1) at the start of this event so will need luck to figure prominently. He led and beat a similar field with ease last week so the second line draw shouldn’t pose a problem. BEACH FIGHTER (7) won the New South Wales Derby last season but has struggled to re-capture that form this term having remained a maiden from eight attempts. He ran a distant third behind RUNAWAY FIRE (8) last week and is a genuine Quinella and Exacta hope here. LAVROS FROST (5) worked to the line quite well for fourth to RUNAWAY FIRE (8) last week and is a minor place chance. STANDELLE (6) won the Queensland Derby last season but like BEACH FIGHTER (7), has struggled this season, boasting one win at Menangle from six starts. DAMAGE CONTROL (1) worked hard to lead from the second row draw, raced fiercely in the middle stages and peaked on his run in the final 50m when second at Penrith. TED BUTLER (6) disappointed last outing but beat the smart pacer Prince Benji in a Harold Park victory in November and is capable of a better performance. WORTHY DEAL (7) recorded an Albion Park victory in a 1.57.9 mile in January and seems to race best over the sprint distance. He is widely drawn but is a minor place possibility. IM THEODORE (3) is rising in class on his latest third to Svalbard but the mile was run in a slick 1.55.6 so he is capable of filling a place from his good draw on the front line.
