RAPID CRUSADER (1) moved up without cover and boxed on well for fifth (8m) in fast time last week. He should be fitter for his two runs back from a break and is drawn to go well. HONKY TONK HANOVER (4) did a lot of chasing in a blistering mile of 1.54.2 at Albion Park on Tuesday and will find this assignment much easier. STRATHFIRE (3) is a brilliant beginner from the mobile and is a mile specialist. He trailed the leader and used the sprint lane to win at Redcliffe last outing but is a good chance of leading throughout here. CONCORDE (8) has done well since coming from New South Wales and gets into this race with a concession claim. At worst, he will end up three back on the markers so he looks to be a value chance. LOOSEN THE LOAD (5) has struggled to find his best form this season but he recorded a slick final half in a recent trial victory and set up a hectic tempo when fifth in the Governors Cup last time so he is a possible improver. The Bill Dixon trained pair THE ULTIMATE PEG (9) and COMEONJAN (10) both are capable of showing up with the right trail forward and WOBBLY ARCHER (6) is a fast beginner, which is suited to the sprint distance. SUGGESTED BET: RAPID CRUSADER (1) each way EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,3,4/ 1,3,4,5,8/ field (Cost $20, which gives 20.83%) 2 Parklands Function Centre Pace 7.30 2100m. $10001. He is very versatile and looks hard to beat. NIGHT DIESEL (2) was placed against stronger opposition at Harold Park last week. He possesses early speed and is a strong front running pacer that boasts a good record, particularly at Newcastle so he is worth thought. RICH HERITAGE (10) has been very disappointing this season considering she was one of the best fillies in the State last year and she remains a maiden this term. She was surprisingly beaten by Lulu Nitro last time but is capable of a better performance. CHEERS ROBBIE (1) is rising in class on his latest surprise victory but is drawn to trail the leader so is worth a place ticket. NIKALONGBOULEVARD (8) should be finishing powerfully via the modified sprint lane from her likely position of being three back on the markers and PALADIN DREAM (7) should also be hitting the line well. SUGGESTED BET: MONEYCOUNTER (6) to win EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 2,6,10/ 1,2,6,8,10/ 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,10 (Cost $20, which gives 27.77%) 3 IPG Print Conditioned Pace 8.00 2100m. $10001. The New South Wales pacer JACKSON GRANT (4) did plenty of work in the early stages of the race, gained a trail and boxed on well for third to Connor Patrick last week. This is a similar race and he must be respected. ME N JIM (7) trailed forward nicely out three wide and finished fast for second in the same race last week. He is better suited to the claiming class but should be finishing well with a good trail forward again this evening. SHUNS BRO (9) hasn’t had much luck in recent times but possesses a good turn of speed and is a possible improver in this event. DANGER MOUSE (3) and NICKYS FALCON (10) are capable of showing up without surprising. The star Queensland filly CATWALK BEAUTY (6) remains undefeated from nine starts and is very tough as evidenced by her huge win in the Breeders Classic on February 20. FOR DEAR LIFE (9) led throughout to defeat ELIXIR (10) in the New South Wales Oaks and was brilliant in the Australian Gold series over the past two weeks. She possesses a brilliant turn of speed and is capable of adding to her good record here. IMA SPICEY LOMBO (4) galloped at the start and lost all chance in the New South Wales Oaks two starts back. She is usually a brilliant beginner from the mobile and that was her only defeat in six starts for the season so he must be respected. STERITA (1) found FOR DEAR LIFE (9) too strong in both heat and final of the Australian Gold but is ideally drawn and rates as an each way chance. LIFE INTHEFASTLANE (8) did plenty of work in the Australian Gold when a brave third and has the perfect trailing draw behind the fast beginner STERITA (1) so rates as an each way chance. AY TEE EM (3) flashed home late and was second past the post before being disqualified in the New South Wales Oaks. She was runner up in the George Croxford Tribute last outing and is a value hope. He gets into this race with a concession claim and should prove hard to beat again. CASHMERE SPIRIT (2) led out, took a trail and used the sprint lane when he beat the handy pacer Whippers Image last week. He is drawn to lead out again here and should give a forward showing. JACCKA LON (1) used inside runs throughout and ran a handy race for fourth to Jack And Simon last week. He is ideally drawn to trail the leader CASHMERE SPIRIT (2) and use the sprint lane so he is worth an investment on an each way basis. TOP SHELF HANOVER (6) had no luck from the inside of the second line when eighth to CONNOR PATRICK (10) but sustained a long run to win impressively prior so is worth another chance. VILLAGE THRILLER (3) returned to form against the claiming class last outing and ABERCROMBIE MORGAN (5) ran a sharper race for third last week. He won the Hunter Cup prior and will take beating from his trailing draw. KARLOO MICK (2) fought back strongly to beat Iron Hudge in the Harold Park Cup then trailed the leader and came to the outside upon entering the straight when he won his heat last week. He is a tough campaigner and is drawn to go well. MISTER SWINGER (4) was a shade disappointing in the Geelong Cup then ran a better race last week but was still short of his best so he might be peaking at the right time. He easily ran down MR FEELGOOD (9) in the Ballarat Cup and is not to be underestimated. DIAMONDS N FURS (5) is a brilliant beginner from the mobile and sustained a long run to win impressively last week. He is better suited to the mile distance but looks to be one of the leading chances in the event. OHOKA UTAH (3) was aggressively driven when a creditable fourth last week and CINCINNATI KID (7) could sneak into a place with the right luck in running. Both DECORATED JASPER (11) and OUR AWESOME ARMBRO (12) will need luck from the second line but have the ability to be competitive in this event. SUGGESTED BET: MR FEELGOOD (9) to win EXOTIC BET: Flexi Trifecta 2,4,5,9/ 2,4,5,9/ 2,3,4,5,7,9,11,12 (Cost $20, which gives 27.77%) Fr 17.00 Fr 11.00 Craig’s call: The New Zealand champion AUCKLAND REACTOR (9) was backing up after a tough week (Auckland Cup + 2 air flights) when he was shuffled back in the field mid-race and motored home for an unlucky second last week. He should be better for that run and will prove extremely hard to beat here. I AM SAM (10) disappointed when a battling third upon returning from Victoria but bounced back with a strong all of the way victory in a slick 1.54.4 mile last week. He is likely to push forward from his trailing draw behind the fast beginner IRON HUDGE (3) and he might even find the lead so he looms as a big chance of defeating AUCKLAND REACTOR (9). IRON HUDGE (3) is likely to push forward and get past early leader IN MONACO (2). He worked hard in the early stages of the event and boxed on well for fourth last week so is worth an investment. IN MONACO (2) finished solidly via the sprint lane when second last week and is a minor place hope again from his good draw on the front line. The Geelong Cup winner OUR MALABAR (4), WASHAKIE (7) and REPORT FOR DUTY (8) all are minor place hopes in the event. He should lead here and will take plenty of beating. CHANGEOVER (2) raced wide until finding the position on the outside of the leader at the 1000m when a huge second to Diamonds N Furs last week. The New Zealand Cup winner hasn’t had much luck in recent times and is drawn to give BLACKS A FAKE (5) a fright. FLEUR DE LIL (1) was shuffled back on the markers from the inside of the second line and had little luck when fifth in her heat effort last week. She is ideally drawn to follow the markers throughout and looks to be a strong place chance. SMOKEN UP (6) pushed forward in fast early sections to race without cover when a brave second to I Am Sam last week.
