She chased home Ananz in mny of the the top juvenile races last season, then resumed with an Echuca win in early January. She was placed in the final of the NSW Oaks in February before losing that spot for going inside the pegs, then was placed at Echuca and Cobram in heat and final of the George Croxford before a luckless unplaced effort in the Queensland Oaks a fortnight ago. VILLAGE OPERATOR (6) won her second race for the season with a fast finishing Maryborough victory in January, but hasn’t been seen since a Ballarat failure six weeks ago. She looks the likely runner up to this favourite. KEEPERS DAUGHTER (4) won nicely at Geelong in January when resuming, then ran third at Maryborough to VILLAGE OPERATOR (6) before two below par efforts. She’ll be improved by her fifth at Ballarat last week, when fading at her first run for six weeks. SELECTIONS: AY TEE EM (5), Village Operator (6), Keepers Daughter (4), Perfect Mission (2). She’s trialled okay for her return and this isn’t a strong field. JATIKI MISS (4) (D M Dilinger – Toodle Lu Topps) is a 4YO Ron Patching trained mare who debuts off back-to-back Maryborough trial victories. Her dam was a good racemare who so far hasn’t thrown a winner from three previous foals. JUSTABRITTMORE (8), who made mistakes in both runs last season, has since joined the Bruce Morgan camp for whom he recently beat COHABIT (5) in a Bendigo trial. Rate him highly. COHABIT (5) was a Canberra winner in February and has his first run for Mark Thomson off that trial placing. TEEJAY FELLA (7) had consistent form last season and resumes into a winnable race, but from a wide alley. SELECTIONS: SAM RAE (3), Jatiki Miss (4), Justabrittmore (8), Cohabit (5). Four of his five siblings are winners with the best of them being outstanding juvenile of a couple of seasons back Atromitos, and more recent handy performers Tromocratis and Adistactos. This fellow was an impressive recent Kilmore trial winner and looks hard to beat. RICHROCKNRUSTLER (10) was handed the lead by his stablemate Your Lucky Day when scoring at Mildura last week – Your Lucky Day has won since. This fellow is back to the good form he showed earlier this year. TORMACHTUGA (2) was one of our better juveniles last season but hasn’t fired this term. Recent racing will have improved him and he draws well in a winnable race. FOUR WISE MEN (7) beat subsequent winner Holdmehat at Maryborough before running sixth to him there last week where he looked a touch ordinary. Give him another chance. He’ll be further improved by that, his third run this time in. PANNOSUS (9) came from well back to win impressively here back in January, then had no luck at his next two runs before going for a short let up. He returns from a good trailing draw and looks nicely suited. BUSHY OAK (4) has won two of five, both on this track, the most recent in all the way fashion a fortnight ago. He was slightly outclassed when an honest fourth at Bendigo last week. GIVEMELLE (1) shows up on occasions, usually when drawn well, and she has the perfect alley this time. She looks nicely graded and is the clear top pick. MEGA DARLIN (1) came from well back to score first up at Ballarat, then battled on okay for an honest fourth in a stronger field than this at Bendigo a fortnight ago. She’ll give plenty of cheek from the good draw. GEORGIAMAC (11) has galloped away in both runs since a spell. A three time winner earlier this season, this Kerryn Manning trained mare has loads of ability when she puts her mind to it. FLIGHTTONULLY (3) will be improved by two runs from a break, the latest a close second to the talented Gypsy Franco at Warragul last week. Rate her highly. He ran third from the stand at Bendigo before a mobile win there, then was wide in the last lap when a luckless fifth at Cobram last Monday. BOOM BOOM BECKER (7) was a top youngster but although winning two of seven, hasn’t really raced to his best this season. A winner here from the mobile in February, he missed away at his first standing start try and was never a factor when favourite at Geelong a fortnight ago. He’d beat these if he raced to his best. SLATEY CREEK ROAD (3) had the run of the race to win a Geelong stand two starts back, then used the sprint lane to win from the mobile there at his latest run. He’s only started racing this season and is obviously in career best form. NOTJUSTANOTHERAMA (5) was a Nyah winner three starts back, then unplaced in a strong race at Mildura before leading when cut down late from the stand at Mildura last week. He has each way claims along with TAKE ME HOLM JACK (6), who comes off an Ararat placing but has never raced from the stand; and EVALIEN (9), who was runner up from the stand to Lady Octavia at Kilmore last week. This looks her race. MELBOURNIAN (7) is a consistent gelding who weakened after a tough trip at Bendigo last week. He won on this circuit earlier this season and looks nicely graded on his best form. She won back-to-back races at Ballarat and Bendigo on her return back in December, then failed as a $1.20 favourite on New Yearl’s Eve at Geelong. This is her first run since and she returns off a Maryborough trial victory where she finished off in 58.3. ARMBRO SAFEKEEPING (1) made late ground for third in a moderate Terang affair last week and looks to be on the improve. She draws perfectly for a sprint race. Speedy squaregaiting mare LOVER OR LOSER (2) looks the likely leader and on recent runs will give a bold sight. A $1.50 favourite on the strength of that run, he only battled when fourth at Ballarat at his subsequent start and is coming off a five week let up here. The extra distance of this affair looks right down his alley. SMART KREUZA (6) (Modern Art – Warm The Passion) is a Ruth Shinn trained debutante who’s been trialling brilliantly. She rated 2:00.4 in a trial victory here, then won a Kilmore trial over this trip by 15 metres. Rate her highly. LORD LOMBO (1) ran his best race so far when fourth at the Valley to Bells And Whistles a fortnight ago and has strong claims from the pole. He’d beat these on the ability he displayed back then, and a recent Echuca trial victory indicates his readiness. RIP N BURN (4) took time to find his best form this season but has recently won twice and been runner up twice in similar races to this. He blotted his copybook when racing ungenerously and weakening to sixth at Mildura last week but should be given another chance as he looks the likely leader over this sprint journey. FRANCO SHUTTLE (3) is a tough gelding who ran a string of placings before a $1.40 failure at Echuca last week. Give him another chance. That trio look the only three winning chances. The winner of 8 of her 22 starts, she comes off an Echuca victory in January and a Bendigo failure when forced to work too hard. Resuming from a break of two months off an easy Bendigo trial win – she looks the leader over the sprint trip, and they may not run her down. VILLAGE DEPUTY (1) ran a brave first up third at Maryborough last week when wide in the last lap from his second line draw and beaten six metres in a fast 1:56.9 for this trip. He has the draw and will be better for that run. AUBREY JAMES (7), who’s won four of eight, hasn’t started since a tough Yarra Valley success four months ago. He’s trialled well but the awkward draw makes it hard. Many each way chances, they being VICTREOS (3), GALVERON (4), TRUMPETER (5), LOMBO SOCIALITE (6), ON TOP FOR MEE (8) and DANCE WITH ARMBRO (10). Third placegetter in that race Mystic Conquest has won since. Whatever beats him here will win. GLOBAL VILLAGE (6) ran a bold third in a stronger race than this at Bendigo last weekend before missing away from the stand at Cobram on Monday. She looks better suited here.
