He looks much better suited on this tighter track and against easier opposition. QUESTION THIS (12) has won twice at Charlton from his latest three outings, the most recent in all the way fashion nine days ago where he easily beat Enjoyable, a winner since. This pair of handy four year olds look slightly better than their rivals. SUN SAMURAI (10) has won four races this season and did well when a solid fifth in the Cobram Marathon after sitting in the breeze outside SI CAPISCO (11). He can beat the other pair with an easier trip. PINEVALE ACER (6) made an early mistake and put up a monster run to get up and run sixth to QUESTION THIS (12) at Charlton last time and with a clean getaway will certainly trouble the back markers. Chances also to WRATH OF ROSIE (2), a recent Terang mobile winner and placegetter from behind the gate at Cranbourne, who’s risky from the stand; and GOLDEN WAHINE (8), who returned to winning form with a tough success on this circuit last Sunday against easier opposition. BALLYCOTTON (4) resumes and has enough ability to cause an upset. RATINGS: 11 / 12 / 10 / 6 / 2, 8 / 4. For that reason BLYTON BROMAC (1) rates as the clear top pick. Slightly disappointing when placed at her first two runs back from a spell, she looked somewhere near her best when using the sprint lane and finishing off in 28.6 to score from this alley in the Cranbourne heat from IT HAPPENS A LOT (2), who’d led from this gate. IT HAPPENS A LOT (2) has claims again as he may cross and find the top once more. HYLAND ZALI (7) was resuming from a long spell when she led and was an impressive Ballarat heat winner by 20 metres, finishing off in 27.7. She’ll settle close enough from this trailing draw and is sure to be a force. DALMONT CHARLI (4) is a four year old mare who was having her first run for nearly two years when impressively coming from last to win the Kilmore heat and may be driven more aggressively this time on this tighter track. The Charlton heat was won by debutante JATIKI MISS (3), who showed toughness when finishing off in 57.8 to out-stay SAM RAE (8), who sat in the breeze when resuming. They have each way claims. PANATOMIC (10), who was having his first start, beat WYPERFELD (5) in the Cobram heat and they both have claims, but their awkward alleys won’t help. RATINGS: 1 / 7 / 2, 4 / 8 / 3, 5 / 10. CURRYNROSES (3) was having her first start for Shayne Eels when returning from a spell for a tough success last week and draws best of the winning hopes. She’ll be fitter for that, her first run since last October. MOIRA KITE (8), who gets Douglas, worked hard to the breeze and fought on well when second in that same heat and will be improved by three runs this time in. She’s the main danger. INDIGO JAXON (6) won the other heat in slower time where he went to the breeze mid-race and cleared out to win by 11 metres. He draws awkwardly but is a tough gelding. An eye-catching run in that heat was produced by TORITWO (10), who was having her third trip to the races when sitting three wide for the entire trip and running second to INDIGO JAXON (6) but she’ll have to do it tough again from this awkward draw. ROJEN EXPLOSION (9) was an improver at his second race start when making late ground from the rear last week and is the other winning hope. RATINGS: 3 / 8 / 6 / 10 / 9. He resumed with an all the way Albury success a fortnight ago, then was far too good for similar opposition to this in his all the way Cobram success two days later. He’ll lead again and whatever beats him will win. LADY LUNCHALOT (5) has raced eight times for four wins and three placings. An all the way winner first up at Bendigo in December, she then ran third from the breeze on that circuit and is having her first start for 14 weeks off a close Maryborough trial third last weekend. HEATHVALE LAD (4) is an honest type who’s won 8 of 37 but hasn’t scored since a Kilmore success last September. He’s been close up in strong races recently and although drawn awkwardly, will appreciate this drop in grade. LILBITABROWNSUGAR (9) won four races earlier this season with the latter two of those being here and at Shepparton in December. She resumes from a good trailing draw off a fast Shepparton trial second last week. The speedy ALBERTS ROSE (2) had the run of the race when scoring here recently before only battling in a strong Shepparton affair last time. She has each way claims along with DREAM HOLME (8), who’s won two races this season and resumes from a likely trailing draw behind this favourite. RATINGS: 1 / 5 / 4, 9? / 2, 8? He led all the way to beat Boom Boom Becker in fast time at Geelong four starts back, then was a close second at Shepparton before having no luck behind Art Trader in a strong Bendigo affair. Having his first start for a month, he was lucklessly unplaced in a hot Moonee Valley four year old behind Jaydens Castle last weekend. He has gate speed and will use his pole line draw to perfection. MADDY SHEFFIELD (2) is a bold front runner who led all the way to score easily over the sprint trip here on January 1 before failing at Bendigo after a wide trip. She was resuming had the ears driven off her in a 26.8 first quarter when cannon fodder for a strong field at Shepparton last week and hopefully this time she’ll get a softer trip, perhaps in front. MYSTIC CONQUEST (6) is working into some good form. She came off placings here and at Charlton for an excellent Cobram victory a fortnight ago where she made two moves and out-finished Keptsafensound, a winner since, and has the ability to overcome her wide draw. QUEEN OF THE WORLD (9) finished well from the rear in a tough staying victory at Shepparton nine days ago and has each way claims along with the handy Russell Jack trained pair MISS NIGHTOWL (3) and NOTJUSTANOTHERAMA (4). IM LAUGHING (8) beat MYSTIC CONQUEST (6) in all the way fashion here three starts back but goes to the second line this time and will have to rely on luck. RATINGS: 1 / 2 / 6 / 3, 4, 9 / 8. She made it four wins (with three placings) from seven Aussie starts when following an easy all the way Moonee Valley success over In Pursuit with a tough Geelong win last weekend over Salute To Wagon where she worked three wide in the last lap and outstayed that fellow who’d led. SUN OF IRIS (12) is another ex-Kiwi who’s come to the fore in recent times. He raced away to easily win the Cobram Marathon from KYVALLEY MIRAGE (1) in fast time a fortnight ago, then finished well from the one-one when beating Billy Royle at Moonee Valley last Saturday night. KYVALLEY MIRAGE (1) has a chance of reversing his second, albeit beaten 18 metres, to SUN OF IRIS (12) in the Cobram Marathon as he may lead this time on this tighter circuit. He’s a consistent Chris Lang trained gelding who’s won eight races but is a maiden from eleven starts this term. ARMED GUARD (2) followed a Bendigo win with an excellent and luckless third to Lleyton H in a strong race at Geelong before disappointing at Bendigo, then only plodding in the Cranbourne Trotters Cup last time. He has each way claims along with, to a lesser extent, CLOUD CHASER (5), who hasn’t had much go her way recently; THE WINDSURFER (6), who’s close to winning form; YENTLS STAR (7), who went nicely when fourth against the pacers last time; and the talented BELEVA (9), who’ll be improved by three runs for Bob Conroy. An all the way winner over Slick Lavra there a fortnight ago, she was wide in the last lap when a solid sixth to Very Chic at Moonee Valley last Saturday night in a top mares’ race and will find this easier. PACIFIC CHARM (9) made two moves and fought on well for third in that same race behind Very Chic and that made it three placings from as many starts since a spell. She’s an accomplished mare who’ll have to make her own luck from this awkward second line draw, but is the class factor. ART TRADER (7) is a tough four year old gelding who has won 6 of 12 this season. He worked to the lead when beating Mighty Shard at Bendigo three starts back, then sat in the breeze when beaten a nose in fast time there by Luminous Lombo before sitting outside Jaydens Castle when too strong for that bloke in 4YO company at the Valley a fortnight ago. Jaydens Castle franked that form with a good win there last weekend. His second linedraw isn’t ideal on this tight circuit. MARCHMONT DRIVE (1) beat moderate opposition at Yarra Valley before handy seconds recently at Warragul and Cranbourne and although not quite in the class of the previously mentioned trio, draws to have a good winning chance. Rough chances to honest stayer ANOTHER HOLMES (3), who comes off a Geelong win and placing; and IMFEERA BLOKE (6), who ran a nice second at Shepparton to Gilt Bromac in February and didn’t have much luck at Wagga last time. SUMMER DREAMING (7) shook loose of a pocket and flashed home for an easy Bendigo victory against easier last time and Alford should give him a soft trip from this trailing draw. KORLIM GARRY (5) was unable to cross and lead when favourite and third at Horsham last Monday but he still went okay and he’ll be mighty hard to beat if he can get across these in the run to the first turn. CLIONA LUCKY (9) a Kilmore winner over Dark Shadow a month ago, didn’t have much go his way when fifth to Bold Raider at Cranbourne last time. He faces much easier opposition this time, albeit from the extreme draw. Each way chances to the improving MISTER CHEQUEBOOK (3), who was wide when third to Big Doug at Terang before failling at Cranbourne on Wednesday night, along with GUNFIRE (1), who finally draws an alley and SONNY PARK LAD (4), who wasn’t disgraced in a strong Moonee Valley race last Saturday night.
