She’s improving all the time and looks nicely suited here from the alley. YOUR LUCKY DAY (6) worked hard to lead, then took a sit when out-finishing stablemate BECCASGEM (8) here a fortnight ago and is racing in top form. HALFA FALCON (5) (Falcon Seelster – Eilish Mary) is a Gary Donaldson trained filly who has her first start off back-to-back Bendigo trial wins. The first foal of a handy race mare, she’s credentialled to win races. Chances also to BECCASGEM (8) and OTAGO JAC (7), who ran second and third respectively to YOUR LUCKY DAY (6) here recently – BECCASGEM (8) has since run fourth in a strong Kilmore race and OTAGO JAC (7) sat wide for the entire trip when second at West Wyalong last Saturday then was again runner up at Wagga on Monday night. SELECTIONS: MOIRA KITE (2), Your Lucky Day (6), Halfa Falcon (5), (8). RATINGS: 2 / 6 / 5? / 7, 8. SUGGESTED BET: MOIRA KITE (2) to win. C1 Only 4yo & up RBD Mobile Hutchy says: FRANKIEWHITEBOOTS (1) made a mistake at a vital stage when getting into the race at Charlton a fortnight ago. That was his first run for some time and he draws perfectly here against an average lot. MAORI MARVEL (3) was having her first run for ninth months when she led and was cut down late into second place at Echuca last week. She’ll be fitter and may find the front again. LYDIAS LAD (9) had the run of the race when second in a stronger race than this to Goforzoe before having no luck from an awkward second line draw at Shepparton last time. He trails out the early speed here and should be sitting just off them. JET TO VEGAS (5) is a battling type who won a similar race to this at Echuca in January. He’s finished just behind the placegetters at his latest two starts and looks nicely graded against these. Best of the others is REMEDIOS (8), who battled on okay when sixth from the breeze here last time. SELECTIONS: FRANKIEWHITEBOOTS (1), Maori Marvel (3), Lydias Lad (9), Jet To Vegas (5). Normally a fast beginner, he’ll settle well in front of his main rival here, back marker SIMPLY BETTOR (10), who comes off a death seat Echuca victory and a battling fifth in a strong Maryborough mobile last week. BOLD ADAM (13) is a consistent gelding who hasn’t finished further back than fourth in his last nine runs. He sat in the breeze when second at Shepparton two starts back and battled on nicely when third to the in-form Sun Of Iris in the Cobram Marathon after a bad beginning. RESTLESS WIND (9) has more ability than his formline suggests. He won twice last season and is resuming off a couple of handy Bendigo trial efforts. CATCHYA MUSCLE (5), OI YOU (8) and HEZA HERO (12) are also in the mix. SELECTIONS: MACUENROAD (4), Simply Bettor (10), Bold Adam (13), Restless Wind (9). RATINGS: 4 / 10 / 13 / 9 / 5, 8, 12. ISLAND BRAVE (4) got home nicely from well back when second in fast time to Fantasy Rocks at Bendigo last Sunday and will appreciate a return to the front line here. WATCH THE ACES (5) was having his first run since back-to-back victories at Charlton and Albury in December, when working hard to find the lead and running third in that race. He’ll be fitter for the run. PERFECT FANTASY (2) had every chance when fourth in that same affair but draws nicely, gets Douglas and rates strongly. ON ANY DAY (11) has always promised better than what he’s produced so far. His sole win from eight starts was on this circuit in February, followed by a couple of handy Moonee Valley efforts and he’ll improve on his last start Shepparton second to Staghorn Flat when having his first run for six weeks. INDIGO JAXON (1), ROLLIN THUNDER (6) and ARTORIOUS (8) also have claims. SELECTIONS: ISLAND BRAVE (4), Watch The Aces (5), On Any Day (11), Perfect Fantasy (2). RATINGS: 4 / 2, 5, 11 / 1, 6? 8. He resumes off a Bendigo trial placing and although drawn awkwardly, looks the class runner. VILLAGE DEPUTY (4) was wide in the last lap when third in a fast Maryborough sprint affair before taking part in an early speed duel when pressured in a 26.7 first quarter and weakening at Shepparton last time. Chris Alford may give him a more conservative drive this time and he looks nicely suited. LIVELYMATCH (6) is a Riverina visitor who comes off a tough Leeton victory and an easy Wagga success three weeks ago where she worked hard from a wide draw and scored by 13 metres. Death seat heat winner THE GUANTANAMOGREY (1) came from the second line on that occasion and draws to be more prominent early here. Since that Albury effort, he just failed in a strong race at Echuca last week. JETSHAWJOE (4) came from the rear for a fast finishing deadheat victory in the other heat. A sparingly raced four year old who’s won 3 of 13, he appeals strongly. The other deadheater WOULDNT IT BE NICE (12) battled on well from the one-one, then sat in the breeze outside the talented Wreck Tangles when third at Temora at his subsequent outing. She’s a tough mare but hasn’t drawn the best. TAKEABREAK (10) started an odds-on favourite in that same heat where he led but didn’t give a yelp when the pressure was on. A three time three year old winner last season, he’s a lot better than that and should be given another chance. AMAROOKA JAZZ (2) and FINAL ARRIVAL (6) look best of the others. He was wide in the final circuit when scoring at Yarra Valley back in December, then came from near last in a sprint race when a close second to Galveron in fast time at Shepparton when resuming a fortnight ago. STARPICKET OSTI (1) finished well to score on this circuit early last month, then had the run of the race to win at Shepparton before a luckless unplaced effort to Our Maid Marianne in strong Moonee Valley 4YO company last time. She looks nicely suited here from the pole. GUS WITHERSPOON (5) has won three races (all at Shepparton) this season from five starts, the latest of those a fast finishing effort there early last month over Shoot The Dice. He wasn’t disgraced after a wide trip from the second line draw when a solid fourth at Echuca last time and will appreciate his return to the front line. He draws awkwardly but is certainly the class factor. IVANA TRUMP (10) is an SA trained mare who’s won five races this season. She was wide in the final circuit and finished stoutly when second at Globe Derby at her latest run and looks nicely graded against these. PRINCESS XENA (8) hasn’t started since failing at Bendigo in August 2006 but possesses ability and is the query runner. RIECHELLA ROSE (2), a recent death seat Charlton winner, has failed twice since but may be the leader this time and will take running down. Her run when a beaten odds-on favourite at Ballarat last week was totally out of character – she led there over the sprint trip but didn’t give a yelp in the run home. That aberration is best forgotten. JENNAS BEACH GIRL (4) is in hot form. An all the way winner here three starts back, she led when narrowly beaten by the in-form Ohoka Georgia here in a fast sprint race, then was pressured into a 28.1 third split when racing away to win clearly over this trip here at her latest start. PACIFIC SHUFFLE (1) is honest and has each way claims from the pole on a fast finishing second last time against easier at Nyah while MADAZHELL (3) and IN BOOTSN ALL (8) have place claims at least. He finished well for second on this circuit two starts back before fading from the breeze here last time when an odds-on favourite. JAXASCOUNDREL (3) finished well for second at Bendigo two starts back, then made late ground at Echuca last time and has each way claims along with stablemate OUR STANLEY (6), who trailed wide from the rear in the last lap when runner up at Shepparton at his latest run, a month ago.
