He is likely to progress forward at the start and will make his presence felt. MICKIE DILINGER (10) worked hard to lead and was beaten narrowly in the E.K Bray Country Club Cup then finished fourth at Moonee Valley last week. This is a drop in class and he is capable of overcoming a bad draw. CAMPBELL WALLACE (8) suffered defeat for the first time in four starts in the Sunraysia area when a half head second to Panorama Drive last outing but he was far from disappointing as he was wide for the last lap. This is his toughest test but he is capable of taking the next step forward. LOTA VISION (11) makes his debut for trainer Ken Tippet and beat Our Maid Marianne at Stawell two starts back so is worth an investment. The tough pacer DAVEYDEE (2), NO FANTASY (4) and the South Australian pacer LETS SPARKLE (7) all are capable of showing up in a top race to open the program. SELECTIONS: BIG TOWN DRIVE (5), Mickie Dilinger (10), Campbell Wallace (8), Lota Vision (11) RATINGS: 5,10/ 8/ 11/ 2,4,7 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 5,10/ 5,8,10/ 2,4,5,7,8,10,11 (Cost $20, which gives 100%) 2 Tankard Dental 1 6.57 2190m. $7000. 3yo PBD Heat Mobile 1 13945 CAPTAIN RAMA 2 15116 DEMON DEAN 3 54344 PADDY MOREAU 4 s5743 TARLETON LEE 5 22162 RIP N BURN NZ 6 61157 REDCOURTCOPA Second Line 7 1s4 SHOT FROM THE HIP NZ 8 51532 IT AND A BIT Clinton Fuller Fr 15.00 Melinda Smith Fr 34.00 Mathew Retallick Fr 15.00 Greg Cramp Fr 11.00 Daryl Douglas Fr 3.50 Brian Sylvia Fr 21.00 John Caldow Fr 4.50 Paul Campbell Fr ?2.10 Craig’s call: IT AND A BIT (8) is a very underrated pacer, which finished strongly for an eye-catching second behind the classy type Village Of Dreams at Moonee Valley. He has the perfect trailing draw and is clearly the horse to beat. RIP N BURN (5) pushed forward to lead and was gunned down by Lordofthefly at Shepparton. He scored at Mildura three starts back and should add to his consistent record here. SHOT FROM THE HIP (7) won impressively when on debut then faded after working hard at Ballarat. He is awkwardly drawn but has the ability to be competitive here. TARLETON LEE (4) is a brilliant beginner from the mobile and is much better suited to this draw than his latest game third behind Doutzen. The South Australian pacer CAPTAIN RAMA (1) had little luck at his latest fifth and is likely to receive every chance behind the leader so is worth a place ticket. Other place hopes include PADDY MOREAU (3) and REDCOURTCOPA (6). SELECTIONS: IT AND A BIT (8), Rip N Burn (5), Shot From The Hip (7), Tarleton Lee (4) RATINGS: 8/ 5,7/ 4/ 1,3,6 SUGGESTED BET: IT AND A BIT (8) to win 3 Tankard Dental 2 7.30 2190m. $7000. 3yo PBD Heat Mobile 1 43382 FABERARGAS 2 15s31 COURAGE OF KHAN 3 34s65 CRAIGMOR PRINCE 4 2429 MACH TWAIN NZ 5 26s41 CLOSE SHAVE LOMBO 6 11544 GOLD TARGET Second Line 7 6s049 EL RINGO 8 13282 TRINITA ROAD Tony Romeo Fr 3.50 Daryl Weightman Fr 8.00 John Justice Fr 51.00 Lance Justice Fr 4.00 John Caldow Fr 4.50 Daryl Douglas Fr ?2.70 Neil McCallum Fr 41.00 Luke Watson Fr 21.00 Craig’s call: GOLD TARGET (6) is poorly drawn but has a great record at Mildura and will appreciate a drop in class on his past two efforts behind Garnet River at Kilmore and Art Of Flying at Harold Park. He is very versatile and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. FABERARGAS (1) is a one paced type, which will take running down if he is able to hold a prominent position from the inside draw. He is a maiden from 19 starts but has been placed on 12 occasions and deserves to break through for a win. MACH TWAIN (4) circled the field to race on the outside of the leader and tired into ninth at Moonee Valley, but that was a much tougher assignment. He was beaten a nose in the Terang Guineas prior and should give a bold showing here. CLOSE SHAVE LOMBO (5) stepped away well from the standing stand, trailed the leader and accelerated nicely via the sprint lane when an easy winner at Maryborough on Wednesday. This race is a little tougher but he is worth an investment. The local pacer COURAGE OF KHAN (2) possesses a blistering turn of speed and could give a good performance at longer odds. SELECTIONS: GOLD TARGET (6), Faberargas (1), Mach Twain (4), Close Shave Lombo (5) RATINGS: 6/ 1,4/ 5/ 2/ 8 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 1,4,6/ 1,4,5,6/ 1,2,4,5,6 (Cost $20, which gives 74.07%) 4 Gurry & Associates 8.00 2190m. $7000. There are several fast beginners drawn on his inside but a “death seat” victory in a 1.56.4 mile at Moonee Valley two starts back indicates that he will prove hard to beat. With an expected fast pace in the early stages of the event, VILLAGE WARRIOR (9) should be suited. He possesses a powerful finishing burst and came very wide into the straight when a big winner at Moonee Valley last week. HEATHBERN DIAMOND (6) has been racing in outstanding form this season with seven wins from just twelve starts. He is very poorly drawn but won a metropolitan bearing event at Harold Park last outing so he must be respected. ANVILS A COASTER (3) led throughout and cruised to an easy victory at Geelong in a 1.58.6 mile three starts back. He has been unplaced twice since but will take catching if he can find the lead here. KEEP THE MAGIC (1) is an honest mare, which should receive every chance and RONZEL SQUATTER (4) is racing well enough to fill a place. He is nicely drawn and should prove hard to beat. OUR MALABAR (5) dashed along the sprint lane to take out the Geelong Cup then was taken to the Gold Coast for the Inter Dominion. He finished a close fifth in the Consolation of that series and looks well placed in this line up. LUV THA ACES LOMBO (8) finished second in the Ouyen Cup at Mildura earlier in the season and raced wide for the final lap when a big winner at Moonee Valley last week. He is a very honest performer and rates as an each way chance. The Glenn Douglas trained pacers SEQUOIAHS SPIRIT (6) and MEGASAM (7) both are racing well enough to be competitive in this event. They both finished unplaced in the Geelong Rocket (SAMMY MAGUIRE (3) second) but should be finishing strongly with the right luck in running. OHOKA GEORGIA (3) is shooting for four wins in succession and led throughout to win comfortably at Mildura (final half 57.0 seconds) last outing. This race is tougher but he is drawn to be prominent throughout. RUN RILEY RUN (8) has been hitting the line strongly in his efforts at Moonee Valley and is close to a win. He had little luck behind Totally Oro last week and rates as an each way chance. LITTLE SONNY BILL (2) is resuming since August but is a classy local pacer, which possesses a powerful finishing burst and has had two recent trial efforts. He is ideally drawn and has the ability to be competitive. AWESOME ALTO (1) is rising in class on his latest victory but did it tough in that performance and is a place chance from the pole position. Other place hopes include THE GUNSTAR (4), ALTIVO (6) and ALBERTA VANCE (7). He is the class runner of the series and is definitely the horse to beat. BOLD CRUISER (5) has done a remarkable job this season and looms as the main danger. He used the sprint lane and just failed to grab Brooklyn Bute at Moonee Valley then finished second in fast time at Harold Park last outing. YUCATCHIM (3) has worked back to his best form in recent times and looked to be a good thing beaten after being headed off from the inside draw at Moonee Valley last week. He will be suited in the small field of eight runners and will be charging home at the finish. THAT’S MISTER ALI (4) sprinted home sharply from near the rear of the field to beat Our Malabar at Moonee Valley on February 21 and is worth a place ticket. The top South Australian pacer CONTE DE CHRISTO (7) couldn’t have drawn worse than the inside of the second line but has been placed at his past seven starts (5 wins) and is capable of running into a place. OUR CRUSHERDUST (5) is yet to miss a place in five starts since coming from New Zealand and raced on the outside of the leader throughout when an easy winner at Cobram last outing. He is likely to press forward at the start and should be prominent throughout. PANORAMA DRIVE (11) races best when he is able to find the front but has won three of his past four starts and is one of the leading chances again.
