A Terang winner early last month, she did plenty of work to find the breeze when second to Si Capisco in the fi- nal of that race at Moonee Valley, then sat in the breeze to win at Ballarat before again working hard in a strong race at Mildura last week when cut down in the shadows of the post by Sun Samurai. LOOK HERE BLOKE (11) hasn’t won for nearly a year but is close to a breakthrough. He’s been placed in six of his last ten starts and comes off a solid third at Geelong to Dream A Moment and again there last week where he battled on well after making a mid-race move for third to stablemate Speedy Naomi. SALUTE TO WAGON (10) followed back-to-back wins at Bendigo and Kilmore with a Geelong second to Dream A Moment, then began badly and encountered a tough trip when sixth to Speedy Naomi last week. Give him another chance. MASTER IN COMMAND (9) led and ran a brave race in that same Geelong affair and was a big improver at his fourth run since coming from New Zealand. REGAL VOLO USA (8) has run placings at all four starts since resuming but hasn’t really been going to the line. A soft trip can see her in the finish. Best of the others is MAORI MISCHIEF (5), a recent winner here who then scored at Cranbourne before finding the class a bit tough at Maryborough. He galloped and lost all chance at Cranbourne last week. RATINGS: 3 / 10, 11 / 9 / 8 / 5 / 4. SUGGESTED BET: SHARENDOO LASS (3) to win. 2 P.F.D. He ran an honest race when in front and third at Cranbourne last time and he may not be run down if he gets an easy enough run in front. THE PRESTIGE (7) worked hard to find the breeze at the bell when scoring at Cranbourne three starts back and has finished just behind the placegetters when driven in similar fashion in runs since at Maryborough and Cranbourne. His wide draw is negated by the small field and he’s dropping in grade. BROWN SPIDERMAN (8) finished well to win a moderate race at Mildura two starts back, then was badly shut in at Horsham last time. He draws to sit behind the leader here and should be doing his best work at the finish. LOW DOWN (3) and SHANODN VILLAGE (4) should be thrown into multiples. RATINGS: 1 / 7 / 8 / 3, 4 place only. She was having her first run for 16 months when an even fourth at Geelong last Sunday and gets the services of Daryl Douglas this time. She’ll be fitter and meets beatable opposition. REGAL BALL (2) is a 34 start maiden five year old who was running on strongly at the business end when sixth in that same Geelong race last week and he’ll be improved by two runs from a break. EQUITY BIN KICKIN (1) is an eight year old who’s had 90 starts for one win and 16 placings. He scored nicely in a recent Terang trial for new trainer Steven Papafotis and may be a first up chance. ARTERIAL (11) has finished just behind them in recent runs against better than these and has claims along with STOPNTHINK (9), who wasn’t disgraced in a strong race at Horsham before running third at Terang on Tuesday night; and NENES GUY (10), who was placed twice at Kilmore in January/ March and didn’t have much luck at his first run for a month when unplaced in a strong race on this circuit nine days ago. LADYINLACE (7) had only won once in 13 tries before winning six of her latest nine starts. She finished well from the rear to win a Moonee Valley day affair in Febru- ary, then sat outside the leader to score when a short priced favourite at Warragul before weakening after leading at Cranbourne at her latest run, six weeks ago. She should settle close enough in this small field and has a strong finishing sprint. PER- FECT KATIE (5), who’s won 7 of 17 this term, would win this in her best form but her latest couple of efforts have been disappointing. She only plodded when an odds-on favourite and fourth at Echuca two starts back, then settled at the rear in a slightly stronger Super Sires heat at Cranbourne last week but didn’t pass a runner in the home straight. That being said, she is the quality runner of this field and gets Daryl. LANDSITA (1) only started racing in January and put together a hat trick of victories at her first three starts, the most recent of those when sitting in the breeze to beat LADYINLACE (7) at Geelong. She was spelled after starting favourite and weakening to finish at the rear to find that mare there last time and is sure to appreciate her freshen up. She’ll be hard to beat from the pole. GODINE DILIGENT (3) won her third race for the season when sitting wide from the 1000 in a tough Mildura effort last week. Prior to that, she’d won at Charlton and ran third on this circuit in fast time to the talented Franco Newsman. SHOW ME AMBER (2) has finished just behind the placegetters in stronger races than this recently, is on her home track, and has the gate speed to make her presence felt. Best of the other pair is DALMONT CHARLI (6), who won well at Kilmore at her first run for nearly two years before going okay when a tough third in fast time at Echuca a fortnight ago. The likely leader and back to the sprint journey, they may not beat him. SUNROSE MARY (10) is a talented young mare who’s won five races and put her best foot forward when an all the way winner at Geelong last Sunday at her first start for Tony Dillon. The draw isn’t quite as good this time but she has a class advantage on most of them. GO MILO (2) has ability but not shown it to best advantage in recent luckless standing start efforts. He’ll position close to the lead from this good alley and has a strong finishing burst when in form. Each way chances to BOOMSHAKALAKA (5), who won a couple of races earlier this season and is resuming from a short break; MATAI CULLEN (7), who’s beaten moderate opposition here and at Mildura at his latest two outings; and NARRA SANDS (8), who hasn’t had much luck in stronger races than this recently. Recent Ararat winner and placegetter at Terang on Tuesday night, SPURFECT RENEE (1) must also be respected from the good alley. RATINGS: 4 / 10 / 2 / 5, 7, 8 / 9. She’ll be much fitter for that run and draws perfectly, so will be hard to beat as long as her waywardness doesn’t cost her. MY GEORGIE GIRL (4) ran her best race for some time when third in that same Horsham affair where she settled at the rear from an awkward second line draw and was wide in the last lap. She may be the leader this time. PONTIFICATE (9) is winless since coming to Australia late last year but showed up well at his second run from a spell at Mildura last week where he sat in the breeze, pressured the leader, and fought on well to run third. This is not a strong race and he has bright prospects of a breakthrough victory. IM FLASH WITH CASH (5) did plenty of work in the breeze when second at Geelong last Sunday and has claims along with TINGIRA ISLAND (6), who led when a close first up third at Cobram last week; and STORMY SOUND (8), who battled on nicely for fourth in a much stronger race than this at Geelong last week. He’d been finishing close up in much stronger races than this at Moonee Valley before a solid fifth after a wide trip in the Warragul Cup last time and will appreciate his return to the mobile. YES I CAN (8) does best when driven tough. An all the way winner here four starts back, he hasn’t had much go his way in three strong races since and looks nicely graded on his best form. NO MORE SECRETS (3) has been in a winning position at each of his latest three starts, they being when third at Geelong, second at the Valley, and third at the Valley last time where he used the sprint lane and looked the winner but seemed to be afraid of the winning post. If Gavin can turn his attitude around, he’ll win this, but he doesn’t seem to have much heart at the finish of his races. JILLIBY PRINCE (5) wasn’t far away when resuming from a break at Geelong three weeks ago and fourth to Kalypson Kid, and should be a big improver. Each way chances to FALCONS FLAME (4), who’s won six races this season and was luckless when resuming at Maryborough a couple of weeks ago; NORTHERN DANJARO (9), who won his first race for a couple of years when scoring at Bendigo before a battling sixth at Echuca last time; and local performer SCOTT PATRICK (10), who’ll find this easier than his honest efforts in heat and final of last week’s Mildura Cup. KEPT FOR PLEASURE (8) has the score on the board with 16 wins from her 26 starts and has been the benchmark of her age group all the way through, but she draws the second line here while her rival SOPHIE PASS (4) should be straight to the lead and has a fitness advantage. That mare won her ninth race for the season when beating Walberon from the stand at Bendigo in March, then was close up in two strong Moonee Valley affairs before weakening after a wide trip from the second line when favourite at Bendigo last time. KEPT FOR PLEASURE (8) won a semi final but finished down the track in the final of the Breed- ers Crown at Bendigo back in August, then won a heat and ran second to Dazed And Confused in the final of the APG at Cranbourne and Moonee Valley after that. Her only run this season resulted in an all the way Harold Park victory back in February. LADY LUNCHALOT (6) made it five wins from only nine starts when scoring impressively at Echuca a fortnight ago, at her first run since December. She’s an improving mare who has some chance of upsetting the more favoured pair. RATINGS: 4, 8 / 6 / 7 place only. SUGGESTED BET: SOPHIE PASS (4) to win.
