KENMOR ATYA (11) is a talented Riverina performer who’s won 21 of 42, the last three on end. He ran a brilliant 1:59.6 in his all the way Echuca victory three starts back, then sat in the breeze to win at West Wyalong before scoring by ten metres in all the way fashion at Warragul last time. He draws awkwardly but is a tough and a fit racehorse. BAY TORRENT (10) is in career best form. She won her fifth race for the season when working from a second line draw to find the lead and finishing off in 27.3 at Kilmore last week. BAILEY BROMAC (6), a sit/sprint gelding who made two moves and finished home nicely for third at a recent day meeting here, has each way claims. NO ENCORE (1) was outclassed but not disgraced when sixth last time to Bold Cruiser in the Mildura Cup final and will be improved by three runs from a long spell. Each way chances to BATTLE HEIGHTS (2), who’s been luckless here of late; KNOWLSIES CROWN (5), a chance if he can find the lead; LITTLE VANCE LOT (8), the winnerof four races this season; LANDSCAPE (9) - improved by a first up Geelong third; and BULLEE BULLEE (12), who led all the way at Cranbourne a month ago at his latest start. RATINGS: 10, 11 / 1, 6 / 2, 9 / 5, 8, 12. He has standing start ability and looks the one to beat. JACCKA CLIVE (12) is a quality four year old who’s won nine races. He came from the ten metre mark when too strong for CASUAL FELLA (4) from the stand at Maryborough last week when having his first run for two months and will be even fitter this time. ISLAND TANGO (5), who’s never raced from the stand, was an excellent Maryborough winner after doing plenty, before a luckless and close third here last week. He’s racing in career best form. CASUAL FELLA (4) was wide in the last lap when a gallant second to JACCKA CLIVE (12) at Maryborough in a return to form and he has a good record from the stand. Best of the others are GLORIA LOMBO (9), who ran a tough second to Jazzam in mares’ company here last week but has never had a stand; and ARMA HARRIS (13), who’s racing well but without luck – his Warragul Cup third from the breeze two starts back was an excellent performance. RATINGS: 3 / 12 / 4, 5 / 9, 13 / 2 / 1, 7, 8, 11. SUGGESTED BET: EM MAGUANE (3) to win. 3 Petstock Vicbred 4YO Mares 7.42 2575m. $20000. 4yo Mares RBD Mobile Semi-Final ? DAZED AND CONFUSED (1) has resumed in fine fashion with three wins on end, the latest when a solid Cranbourne heat winner of this series a fortnight ago, where she overcame a tough run at her first start for seven weeks. She draws perfectly and will be improved. KEPT FOR PLEASURE (11) has only raced twice since that APG final for a Harold Park win in February, then a first-up second to Sophie Pass in her heat of this race at Ballarat last week when coming from an awkward draw. She’ll clean up nicely for that outing and is fighting to retain her mantle as the best of this age group - she was an outstanding two and three year old. SHOW ME AMBER (2) draws to upset the more fancied pair – she was caught outside the leader when cut down late by LADYINLACE (8) in her heat of this race last week. LADYINLACE (8) will be improved by that run, her first for six weeks, and is also in the mix along with LADY OCTAVIA (5), HOWARDS DILEMMA (6) and WYPERFELD (7). RATINGS: 1 / 11 / 2 / 8 / 6 / 5, 7. She should lead again and whatever beats her will win. Tough Riverina trained mare AND MAY I SAY (4) has won 11 of 20 and was gallant in defeat when she breezed it and was cut down late by a sprint-laning JASPERTHAT (3) in the Shepparton heat last week. COBARGO MAGIC (1) looked good in six wins last season but hadn’t fired this term until finishing strongly from the rear for a luckless second at Maryborough last week. From the draw, she’ll get a soft trip just off the pace in this draw and could be the value runner. Last year’s Breeders Crown winner MUSCLE BEACH (5) hasn’t really fired this season but was luckless in last week’s Shepparton heat and may be on the improve. JASPERTHAT (3), MISS LAURA JANE (8) and STACCATO (11), who’ll be improved by her first up Shepparton second, look the other winning chances. WYA MYA MACRAY (10) is a five time winner this season and is a longshot chance. RATINGS: 2 / 4 / 1, 5 / 3 / 11 / 10. He rarely runs a bad race and followed a hat trick of victories, the latter two of them here, with a luckless unplaced effort in the Warragul Cup where he missed away from the stand then flew home for a close second here last week to WALTON VAN (6). If he’s close enough at the top of the straight, his fast finishing sprint may carry the day. OUR MALABAR (8) has been a most unlucky horse, in the last couple of months, and been close up in some hot races including the Inter Dominion series. His best win was in the Geelong Cup and a recent Mildura Cup heat victory showed he’s holding his form well. Forget his luckless effort from the second line in the final of that series and also discount his unplaced effort when held up just behind them in the Len Smith Mile behind Changeover at Menangle last Sunday. BROADWAY PLAY (12) hasn’t started since a tough win over Bold Cruiser in the Terang Cup in February. She’s an outstanding mare who’s won 19 of 46 and even though first up and drawn poorly, will certainly let them know she’s there. Another classy mare, LUCKY ELSIE (11), had been in hot form until not being put into the race when unplaced here a month ago. She’s been freshened and is likely to be doing her best work at the finish. Each way chances to the consistent ALBERT JACCKA (3); BALTIC ICE (4), who hasn’t really shown up this season; MONARCO MAN (5); WALTON VAN (6); and DONTFENCEMEIN (7), who’s form was good in Tasmania before having no luck from the stand here last week. A Vic Derby heat winner back in January, he’s won recent races at Ballarat, then sat in the breeze when third to Garnet River in the Tasmanian Derby before a gallant fifth in the Australian Derby at Launceston three weeks ago when forced to do it too hard. Gavin Lang jumps on board this time and that certainly won’t harm his chances. BROOKFIELD RULER (6) is a talented ex-Kiwi who’s led all the way in all three runs since coming here, the latest two of those from this alley. Rate him highly. ROWAN DIRECT (5) has won two of three since coming to these shores with his failure being in the Tasmanian Derby when luckless. He was an effortless winner at Yarra Valley last week. Best of the others are likely leader LOT OF LIP (2), who showed up here when impressively placed four starts back; KID COCONUT (8) who’ll be improved by two runs from a spell, the most recent of those a tough Yarra Valley success; and HUNG JURY (9), who got too far back when favourite and third last time to BROOKFIELD RULER (6) at Maryborough. Unbeaten in three starts so far, she followed an amazing Bendigo success (when wide after a bad beginning) with an easy all the way victory in her second round heat here last week, and with the gate speed she showed to lead from the outside draw, looks likely to be in front once more. Main danger MORGAN ABBY (2) finished well for a debut third to ROCKNROLLA (5) at Geelong and has since won both her heats of this series, the most recent when racing away to score by 13 metres here last week. TALOREM (1) has a strong each way chance. This Queensland trained filly sat in the breeze to win on debut in an Albion Park heat, then sat outside ART PRINCESS (9) and fought on gamely for second to that talented filly last week. ART PRINCESS (9) won the Harold Park heat in all the way fashion then led again here last week but her chance has been somewhat diminished by the second line draw. Bold front runner MODERN GIRL (8), who’s won 5 of 6, is an unknown quantity from behind but if she can race tractably has an each way chance from the trailing draw. He was up there with our best three year olds last season, but as a four year old, has taken a giant step forward, winning 6 of his latest 7 starts with the only defeat in that time being when putting up a giant effort to come from miles back after a bad standing start beginning before his second in the Warragul Trotters Cup to Gavlenn Ryoshy (who ran a big race for second in the Len Smith Mile last weekend). The draw is wide but the ability is certainly there. CONQUER ALL (6) flashed home in a 1:59.4 victory over the pacers at a recent day meeting here and is getting back to the good form he displayed as a young horse. He’ll be improved by that, his first run in a couple of months. BILLY ROYLE (9) hasn’t had much luck in three runs since gallantly chasing home Sundons Gift under these conditions here in March – he battled on manfully at his latest start when third from the 30 metre mark last time in the Warragul Trotters Cup. ERINGA BELLE (2) comes off placings here in a day race from a 30 metre mark and last week when flashing home to beat all but impressive all-the-way winner BELEVA (8). She’s much better suited under FFA conditions and has the draw. Each way chances to LA MOSCA (4), who did a good job for third here last week to BELEVA (8), who’s the other hope on that good win last week. RATINGS: 7 / 6 / 2, 9 / 4 / 8.
