He draws perfectly in this winnable race. ORTA ACCUMULATE (8) has been luckless in both runs so far and showed ability at Nyah at his latest start, a month ago, when wide in the final circuit and a solid fifth. He may trail into a handy spot from this alley. COLOURS OF LOMBO (4) won a Kilmore trial before racing greenly and finishing mid-field from the second line on debut at Ararat early last month. Expect improvement. ELEGANT OUTLOOK (7) has ability and hasn’t had much go her way in either run so far. She merits respect. RYLEDO (5) wasn’t disgraced when a debut fifth here a month ago and is in the mix along with ZAIRE BELLE (6), who’s dropping in grade from her latest run when not disgraced. SELECTIONS: STRIKING TOM (2), Orta Accumulate (8), Colours Of Lombo (4), Elegant Outlook (7). RATINGS: 2? 8 / 4? / 5, 6, 7. CEE HANOVER NZ (8) was in the market but luckless in that same Moonee Valley affair and will be hoping for a more genuine pace this time. His previous form was excellent and included a back mark Kilmore standing start victory. WALTON FLYER (6) has won five races as a twelve year old this season, the latest of those in a Ballarat stand five weeks ago. He wasn’t far away when fourth to CINCINNATUS (3) at the Valley last time. THE TWO OF US (5) led up when a close third in that same race behind CINCINNATUS (3) in what was an improved effort. JASPER ROSE (1) and NEDS DELIGHT (7) are also in the mix. SELECTIONS: CINCINNATUS (3), Cee Hanover Nz (8), Walton Flyer (6), The Two Of Us (5). RATINGS: 3 / 8 / 6 / 5 / 7 / 1. He looks nicely suited in this small field and is clearly the one to beat. Stablemate HEATHCLIFF (1) covered ground when winning a stand here back in February and since resuming has been luckless in two runs, the most recent when beginning badly from the stand and making late ground at Ballarat last week. He can beat this favourite but will need a smooth beginning. MAN ON A ROCK (7) hasn’t won for 18 months but showed up nicely at his second run from a spell when fighting on well after making two moves for fourth in a strong race here to Jaccka Clive a fortnight ago. GAME VEE JAY (3), who hasn’t raced from the stand but has ability; and LEZZA WILD CHILD NZ (4), who was close up in a Ballarat stand last week, have place claims at least. The latest of those victories being when coming from near last to score well at Ballarat in February, and he’s been placed in two of his three runs since, the best of those efforts when finishing strongly for second to The Courage Within at Cranbourne last weekend. RONAL LAD (9) was having his second run back when an excellent third at Ballarat last week where he hooked four wide to join the leaders in the final circuit and fought on strongly. He looks ready to win. KING HIGH NZ (1) was placed on debut at Charlton in July last year and has raced twice since resuming, for a death seat Kilmore standing start second and a battling fourth after a wide last lap here last week. He’ll be improved and has the draw this time. ARMBRO SAFEKEEPING (5) hasn’t been far away in recent runs and looks best of the others. He was in the betting but badly held up when not far away at Charlton last week and looks well graded in this moderate company. MUSCLE MAGIC (4) came from well back when a distant third to Dougie Ray in a fast Ballarat sprint affair before failing to get around them from an awkward second linealley at Charlton last week. He draws well this time and will be a strong contender. The query runner is NIGHTSCAPE NZ (9), a dual winner earlier this season when trained by Peter Manning. Now with Caleb Lewis, he comes off a back-to-back trial placings and has first up claims. HARBHAJAN (8) hasn’t been far away in recent runs and is also dropping in class. He looks “spot on” for this. HEAD OVER HEALS (12) is a consistent gelding who runs many placings but has only won one of 20 over the past two seasons. He came from well back when second from a Warragul back mark before a close and excellent mobile second to Gluteus Maximus here, then had seemingly every chance when a battling third in fast time at Terang a fortnight ago. He rates well against these. LELIS BOY (11) has finished just behind the placegetters in recent runs at Terang and Shepparton and is getting back to the form that won him three races earlier this season. GAZOLINE (7) benefited from improved manners when scoring nicely at Kilmore last Sunday and will appreciate his promotion to the front line. A tough and outstanding filly, the awkward draw won’t worry her too much and she looks the one to beat. Talented filly LIFEINTHEFASTLANE (1) was shuffled back in that Oaks final and stormed home from near the rear for a 13 metre third. Gavin should fire her out of the gate this time and she’ll settle a lot closer, and with the favourite having to do it tough at some stage, has a chance of beating her. LEWISIENNA JO (2), who’s won six races this season including the SA Oaks, ran fourth in a Vic Oaks heat at Ballarat, then was checked and went over the pegs in the final. She rates a strong each way chance from the alley. She was held up at a vital stage and finished home strongly when second here last week and looks nicely graded here against a field of mostly maidens. ZIDANNE (10) has been placed at his latest six starts. His only win was on this circuit in March last year and he’s close to a breakthrough. There hasn’t been much between them in the past and the nod here goes to LORD OF THE GYM (2) because of his better barrier. A six time winner last season, he ran second to DANNY BOUCHEA (9) in the Victoria Derby at Maryborough last July, then won a Breeders Crown heat at Kilmore before leading and copping pressure when third to Skyvalley in a record 1:59.0 in the Breeders Crown final at Bendigo in August, his most recent start. He’s been trialling well for his return. DANNY BOUCHEA (9) won 13 of 22 as a two and three year old but has only scored once this season, that being in a stand at Bendigo in February. He hasn’t started since running fifth in a strong Bendigo stand seven weeks ago. TENDER DON (10) has the ability but sometimes race’s fiercely from the mobile. Since resuming he’s been placed at Cranbourne then led all the way for an impressive last start Kilmore victory, both from the stand. QUESTION THIS (8) has won 7 from 39 and comes off an easy all the way Charlton stand success last week. He hasn’t been far below the top echelon during his career and compared to his main rivals, has race fitness on his side. KELLYS NIPPA (7) will improve on his solid fourth at his first start for Peter Manning and has claims along with stablemate WINDY DOLLAR (6), who’s speedy. A five time winner, he beat Tender Don from the stand at Cranbourne two starts back, then was wide to the breeze outside Tender Don when a gallant second to him at Kilmore a fortnight ago. IMAMUSCLESYANKEE (7) is a handy but wayward Chris Alford trained gelding who was on his best behaviour when leading all the way from the stand at Bendigo two starts back, but made a mistake when down the track at Cranbourne at his latest run a month ago. He’s trialled okay since. PUERTO BONUS (5) is an improver who took a while to find form before a recent Ballarat second followed by a come- from-behind Horsham victory. At his latest run, he was wide in the last lap when just failing to pick up in the in-form Golden Wahini from the stand at Bendigo a fortnight ago. One of our best juveniles last season, he was off the boil in strong fields before recent victories at Yarra Valley from the breeze, and at Moonee Valley last Friday night where he flashed through on the pegs to beat a strong field. He draws perfectly with his main rivals positioning out wider. LIVING ON FIRE (7) was the standout of his 2YO season and although winning six of ten this term, hasn’t been as dominant. He ran a gallant second in the Australian Derby at Launceston at his latest run, a month ago, and has since won a Ballarat trial. The wide alley is of concern. Ex-Victoria PRESIDENTIAL LANE (6) has done well since moving to Queensland where he ran third to Captain Joy in the Queensland Derby four starts back. He was runner up in both heat and final of the recent NSW Derby at Menangle and actually ran Captain Joy to a neck in that final where they finished of in 56.1. LOT OF LIP (2) and AMADMANCOMESUNDONE (9) are both handy youngsters but will need luck in this company. SELECTIONS: KID COCONUT (1), Living On Fire (7), Presidential Lane (6), Amadmancomesundone (9). RATINGS: 1 / 7 / 6 / 2, 9. SUGGESTED BET: KID COCONUT (1) to win. 7 Bartlett’s Waste 9.30 2100m. $5000. He beat Kalypson Kid in a Valley day affair back in February, went for a short break not long after, and impressed in his first up Ballarat third last week when making good ground from the rear in a strong field. MR CLANCY NZ (12) is in career best form. He raced wide to win at Cranbourne, then was a luckless and close third at Menangle before leading all the way to win over the sprint trip at Cranbourne last weekend. CHRISTIAN MELODY (10) won her MO at the Valley in December and wasn’t seen again until a Ballarat placing five weeks ago. She finished a close second to Very Chic here at her latest run and looks ready to win another. Chances also to SIRNELSON OF ASCOT (4), likely leader REBEL TOWN (5) and the handy ULTIMATE DEAL (11).
