GILT BROMAC NZ (8) finished second here three starts back before an impressive Horsham victory over Whipair, then finished well when the race was over from three back the pegs when a close third to Jazzam in a mares race here a fortnight ago. This time she should be a position closer and trailing CHRISTIANS DAUGHTER NZ (1), the likely leader CHRISTIANS DAUGHTER NZ (1) displayed good gate speed to lead all the way at Mildura last Friday where she finished off in a blister- ing 57.2 and mile rated 1:59.4 – an excellent effort on that tight track. Outside that pair, GLORIA LOMBO (4) looks a strong chance. She’s now had four runs from a spell and comes off a Horsham second, a tough second here to Jazzam when making two moves and fighting on well, and a solid fifth after a bad beginning and wide trip here from the stand last week. BAY TORRENT (6) is racing in top form. She worked from the second line to find the lead when scoring well at Kilmore two starts back, then trailed wide in the final circuit when making late ground for fourth in a fast run race behind Bullee Bullee here last week. OURSANDYBEACH (9) looks the other win- ning chance – she was placed at Ballarat and Mildura before leading and weakening late when sixth to Jazzam here last time. She’ll do better from behind and draws to sit just off the pace. Ratings: 8 / 1 / 4 / 6, 9. Suggested bet: Trifecta 1 and 8 to win and run second with 4, 6, 9 for third. 2 Renown Silverware Trot Fl 1 7s311 JOE BRO NZ 2 51998 GLORYS ADAM (Em1) 3 21212 SHARENDOO LASS 4 58345 HEZA HERO 5 12624 SALUTE TO WAGON 6 42173 ENJOYABLE 7 64s32 OLLIE NOVA NZ 8 604s5 CEDRIC SLICK 9 22273 ENOTHEQUE 10 37346 ARMED GUARD NZ 11 14626 JEREMY GEM 12 26251 SKYVALLEY NZ 13 28114 KYVALLEY MAC NZ 7.12 2575m. $20000. By far the most impressive performer from those heats was all the way winner JOE BRO NZ (1), who rated a fast 2:04.9 and burnt off SHARENDOO LASS (3), who chased him all the way. That made it five wins from only seven starts and two from three since resuming from a spell of more than a year. With Skyvalley the other heat winner scratched, OLLIE NOVA NZ (7) looks the main danger. He’s raced twice since coming from New Zealand for a Maryborough mobile third to Gluteus Maximus when caught wide, and a strong second at Maryborough in his heat of this race to Skyvalley where he led and amazingly handed up to SALUTE TO WAGON (5), watched that horse concede the lead to SKYVALLEY NZ (12), then came out to sit in the breeze. It was a tough effort to be beaten four metres and a more heady drive could see him in the finish. SHARENDOO LASS (3) is an hon- est mare who won twice at Ballarat before here a heat second and she has each way claims. Rough chances to ENJOYABLE (6), and SALUTE TO WAGON (5) and ARMED GUARD NZ (10), both of whom haven’t been racing quite to their best but are well up to these on their day. Ratings: 1 / 7 / 3 / 10 / 5, 6 / 4. He wasn’t seen again until coming from the extreme alley to win a heat of this race at Maryborough last week, where he circled them to find the lead at the 700 and was never extended after that. It will be harder here but he’ll be fitter and has a touch of class. CONAROYAL (8) is a late bloomer who’s won five of seven this season and made mistakes in his other two starts. He comes off mobile victories at Geelong and Stawell, the Geelong effort being in a heat of this race where he sat outside outstanding youngster TROTTN ON THE RITZ (11) and was too strong for him. He’s not ideally suited from the awkward draw but has loads of talent. TROTTN ON THE RITZ (11) will be improved by two runs from a spell and this seven time winner is sure to be a threat. The other major winning chance belongs to LET ME THRU (7), who won the APG final here last month, then was too strong for ONLYONEWOMAN (9) in his heat of this race at Geelong before a soft victory against moderates from the stand at Geelong last week. Stablemate HAPPY MAORI (3) has each way claims along with CARLETONHILL (1), who may be in front for a long way, and ONLYONEWOMAN (9), who’s an honest filly. SINGING CREEK (10) is also not without some hope. Ratings: 12 / 8 / 7, 11 / 1, 3, 9 / 10. At his first run back from a spell, he worked hard before handing up to Tanabi Bromac when second to that fellow at a day meeting here, then came from last to win a Satur- day night stand on this circuit before running second to KALYPSON KID (2) in a heat of a strong Mildura series. Favourite in the final of that race, he was never a factor from an awkward draw on that tight circuit but leaves the gate quickly, and this time could be in front. SPIDER NELSON (1) led all the way to beat the talented Boorhman at Geelong in February, then was luckless here before going for a short break from which he resumed here a fortnight ago with a top effort to run third after a wide trip. He has gate speed and will be using the sprint lane if he gets headed off. KALYPSON KID (2) had his winning streak of six snapped when favourite and fourth to Pacific Charm here last week where he pulled too hard. His chance rests with getting across and finding the lead – if he doesn’t, he’ll make life hard for whatever does. ALBERT JACCKA (7) is a tough customer who doesn’t win overmuch these days but looks well graded on his best form. Last start winners here SMOKIN JOKER (5) and BUL- LEE BULLEE (10) draw awkwardly but have claims. Ratings: 1, 2, 6 / 7 / 10 / 5. He then went to Menangle where he was badly held up and not far away behind Changeover in the Len Smith Mile, then sprouted wings to score impressively in 1:56.9 for 2100 here last week. He goes okay from the stand and looks nicely graded. DONTFENCEMEIN NZ (5) ran an outstanding second to Ohoka Utah in the Easter Cup at Launceston before having no luck from the second line of a stand here, then found the front from the mobile here last week when cut down on the line by OUR MALABAR NZ (10). There won’t be much between that pair and they could fight it out. LUV THA ACES LOMBO (3), a winner here early last month, wasn’t disgraced in heat and final of the Mildura Cup, then was wide from the rear in the last lap when narrowly beaten into third place from the stand here a fortnight ago. He can be a little tardy from the stand but will be mighty hard to beat with a clean beginning. FLAMIN TACT NZ (1) impressed when coming from last to finish third to Pacific Charm here last week. A dual standing start winner who can be risky, with an even start. he’s going well enough to win this. Best of the others is DOOLAN JACK (9), who followed his victory over QUANTUM KIWI NZ (2) in the Cobram marathon with an outstanding and most unlucky second in the Warragul Cup at his latest run, a month ago. QUANTUM KIWI NZ (2), HENCHMAN (4) and MONARCO MAN (11) are also in the mix. Ratings: 5, 10 / 3 / 1 / 9 / 2 / 4, 11. He made if four on end when following a daytime success here by finding the front for a tough Cranbourne win last weekend where he drew the second line and was taken to the breeze mid-race. What- ever beats him will win. WHIPAIR (12) was an outstanding younger horse who’s won 16 of 33. He was off the scene for nearly a year before an excellent first up Bendigo victory in March, then was forced to do it hard when narrowly beaten here before sitting in the breeze when cut down late by Gilt Bromac at Horsham three weeks ago. Rate him highly. Ex-Tasmanian OUR SIR JECKYL (7) beat Dontfencemein in a Launceston stand six weeks ago, then was luckless when third in the Warragul Cup before flying out from a wide alley when never threatened in an impressive all the way Shepparton victory a fortnight ago. He has the gate speed to cross these and will be hard to beat if he does. NO MORE SECRETS NZ (6) had back-to-back races won here but failed to go to the line in consecutive placings before being driven for toughness and sitting in the breeze to score well at Ballarat last time. He rates a strong win- ning chance. NO ENCORE (1) was three back the pegs and finished home well when second in fast time to Bullee Bullee here last week and four runs from a spell have him cherry ripe for this. Each way chances to RUN RILEY RUN (2), who failed here last time but was good in heat and final of a strong series at Mildura; TOBERMORAY NZ (8), an all the way winner first up at Maryborough last week; and to a lesser extent ISLAND TANGO (9) and OHBEOPERATIVE NZ (10). Ratings: 5 / 7, 12 / 1, 6 / 2 / 8 / 9, 10. Suggested bet: JUST CALLME CULLEN (5) to win. STACCATO (10), the nemesis of KEPT FOR PLEASURE (12) in the 2YO Breeders Crown and 3YO version of this race last season, followed her first up Shepparton second with an excellent victory here last week where she was taken to the lead in the early stages and took a sit behind SOPHIE PASS (4). She finished powerfully in that race and looks to be at her absolute peak. She’ll settle just off the pace from this trailing draw. SOPHIE PASS (4) powered to the lead from this alley when a 34 metre winner over KEPT FOR PLEASURE (12) in the Ballarat heat of this race but didn’t show the same early speed last week when settling mid-field before finding the lead at the 1600 when cut down late by STACCATO (10). She may be straight in front his time and extremely hard to beat. HOWARDS DILEMMA (1) came from near last to round up KEPT FOR PLEASURE (12) here last week in an impressive display, and from the good alley is sure to be a factor. KEPT FOR PLEASURE (12) will be improved by three runs from a spell – she badly needed the outing when second at Ballarat to SOPHIE PASS (4) then was gallant in her narrow defeat here last week. She needs luck from the awkward draw but Gavin is just the man to give her the right trip. Ratings: 10 / 4 / 1, 12 / 3, 5 / 6. MOD- ERN WARRIOR (6) won a heat and ran second in The Lombo at Shepparton back in January, then battled on okay after a tough trip when third to Bells And Whistles and Renaissance Man (our two best youngsters) in a 1:56.1 mile on this circuit. He hasn’t been seen since leading when cut down late in 1:57.8 for the mile by Bells And Whistles here in late February but has been trialling okay for his return. ROCKN- ROLLA (7) is a top filly who made it three on end with her all the way heat victory of the APG here a fortnight ago. She didn’t show anywhere near as much gate speed in the final and was caught wide for most of the way, thus it was a terrific effort for her to run third, beaten a metre. WAIWERA SOUTH (5) had his consistency rewarded with back-to-back victories at Maryborough, the first of those from the mobile beat- ing the talented Weekend Rustler, and last time from the ten metre mark in a stand when finishing off well. SCHINDLER (2) copped a bad check from his second line draw when a debut third in fast time, albeit beaten 30 metres by Composed at Shep- parton a fortnight ago, and will appreciate this good front line draw. COVERED IN INK (1) won a Maryborough stand on debut back in December, then was placed twice in stands before failing in a strong race here in early February.
