HOW UNCANNY (4) finished nicely from last when fifth (7m) to Red Conqueror at Charlton last outing and produced a big finish to win at Horsham on April 06. She will be suited by the small field of seven runners and will take holding out. SLAMMIN STAN (7) gained a nice run along the markers and had every chance when second to Aldebaran Swannee last outing but he will find this assignment to be more suitable. TOSCA BELLE (5) is resuming since a sixth at Yarra Valley in January but was placed behind the smart type Waiona four starts back and will be fitter for a recent unplaced trial effort at Ararat where she took on the open class. He was placed in a fast mile rate of 1.57.7 four starts back and will appreciate a trailing draw. BOOMSHAKALAKA (7) is widely drawn but is a short course specialist and recorded a fast mile rate of 1.57.4 when he won at Terang in January. He has had a few chances since but is worth an investment against this line up. TEMPORAL (1) was beaten a long way at his first run since November but importantly moves to a front line draw and he races best when he is able to lead. NARRA SANDS (3) over-raced in the position outside of the leader when fifth at Nyah last outing. She has been disappointing this term but gets her chance to run an improved race from her good draw. He is widely drawn but will make his presence felt. BULL MCCABE (4) is resuming since failing to finish at Maryborough in February but won a Geelong trial by 15m on Monday. He has plenty of ability when trotting at his best form and must be respected. RED HOT SPECIAL (9) shot through along the sprint lane to win at Bendigo (OUR SOLAR FLARE (6) 3rd) two starts back then had no luck behind Onlyonewoman last outing. He will be suited by a trailing draw and should be finishing strongly. Recent Maryborough winner BELSBAND (7) missed away and lost her winning chance last outing. She has ability and would be an each way threat if she delivered a foolproof display. ALLAWART VICKI (1) (Allawart Ray – Allawart Joan) is a first starter for trainer Geoff Foreman, which has been unplaced at her past few trial efforts. ASTRAL FLIGHT (1) seemingly had every chance when he led and finished second to TALES OF COURAGE (6) at Stawell but is drawn to receive a similar run here and has been placed at his past five starts. TORMACHTUGA (8) struck trouble but found the line nicely out wide on the track when eighth at Ballarat last outing. He is perfectly drawn to trail the fast beginner in ASTRAL FLIGHT (1) here and rates as a value chance. GOLDEN SENSATION (11) was placed behind the top fillies Broadways Best and Sterita in efforts at Terang and Stawell back in February so he has the ability to figure in the finish despite being beaten by MEET MY MAKER (7) last outing. He is likely to race on the outside of the leader TAPPIES PASS (1) but is a winning chance from that position. TAPPIES PASS (1) has had a few chances since resuming but races best when he is able to lead and has conditions to suit him here. BEST OF TIMES (7) broke stride and never looked comfortable when eighth at Shepparton but finished stylishly for an eye-catching fourth at Bendigo on Monday. He has won 15 of his 31 starts so he must be respected. GIVITANAME (9) raced without cover in fast time so had excuses at Terang on Tuesday and is a minor place hope. She is the class runner of the field and looks very hard to beat. STANGEASITSOUNDS (5) has been racing in strong Super Series events so looms as the logical danger. She used inside runs when fifth (7m) to Dazed And Confused then finished a distant fourth to Sophie Pass in fast time. IT IS WHAT IT IS (8) is drawn behind the fast beginner LADY ELEANOR (1) and has finished handily at her two starts to date so she is worth an investment. He is widely drawn again but will take beating. KING OF BLING (9) worked to the front and seemingly had his chance at Bendigo but that was his first effort since March and he should strip fitter for that performance. SLEDGING (3) comfortably won a trial at Bacchus Marsh two weeks ago and should be reaching his peak form after three runs back from a spell. MICKIE DILINGER (7) was on his worst behaviour when he galloped at the start and was retired from the event at Bendigo on Monday. His previous form was strong so he is worth another chance. MCGINTYS GOAT (4) was gunned down by the quality trotter Conquer All last time but is very consistent and PONCHARTRAIN (1) is a place hope from the inside draw. She galloped away and lost all chance when resuming but won a trial at Geelong prior and also scored in a Ballarat trial since. She will take beating with a foolproof display. He is ideally drawn and looks hard to beat against this line up. PACE AND VISION (4) trailed the leader Rohan Home and tried hard but couldn’t get past that talented pacer last week. He has been placed in three of his past four starts and is ready to break through for a win. FIFTY GORILLAS (10) raced wide in a slick final half of 56.5 seconds when a game third to Esprit De Kayjay at Menangle. He is poorly drawn but is racing well enough to figure in the finish. He is drawn to lead again here and is capable of going one better. APOLLO DRIVE (9) is racing in peak form having been placed at his past six starts, all in mile rates of sub two minutes. He has a trailing draw behind the handy beginner ERNIES KEEP (2) and should race well. POCKET OF GRACE (7) showed brilliant early speed to lead throughout from a similar wide draw last week. There are several fast beginners drawn on his inside this evening but he is a winning chance again if he can find the markers around the first corner. She is very versatile and should prove hard to beat again. BALLBARBOY (4) is a fast beginner from the mobile and has the impressive strike rate of 20 wins from 49 starts. He was resuming since a fifth in the Canberra Cup when sixth to the in-form pacer The Lightning Ridge at Menangle and is much better drawn for this assignment. ASCANA (8) finished as well, if not better than FLAMIN YOMAX (5) when a close third last week. He is awkwardly drawn behind RIVER WILD (1) but will take holding out with the right luck in running. THE SPURS A FLYIN (8) raced against harder opposition when she worked home nicely for fifth behind Flamin Yomax last week. SUNNY ELEGANT (10) finished a distant third behind SOLAR ACTIVE (5) two starts back but that was her first run in a month and she ran a sharper race at her latest Menangle fourth. She is a very good mare and will take beating in this line up. JAZZ LEGEND (4) missed the start hopelessly from his handicap of 50m last week and looks much better placed under the mobile conditions. RAYLEIGHS CROWN (2) is likely to end up trailing the leader and the Queensland trotter KUMBYA (7) scored in a slightly easier field at Harold Park last time. LARA JUNE LOMBO (7) has shown improvement in recent times and won a heat of the Bathurst Gold Bracelet prior to a tenth in the final. This race is easier but the wide draw is a concern. DIVINE LADY (1) scored at Menangle four starts back and was placed behind REBBY (8) on that track on April 14. She may get headed off at the start but is racing well enough to fill a place. LIVELY NUMBER (2) was beaten narrowly at Menangle three starts back then finished nicely at her next outing. She galloped away badly on Tuesday but is worth a place ticket. TRUE SONCERRE (6) ran her best race since coming from New Zealand when she scored at Penrith (20-1) last time. This race is harder but she might sneak into a place. HEY ROCK (7) settled last and ran into a dead-end when a very unlucky fifth at Harold Park last outing. He won at his previous three efforts and is worth another chance despite the wide draw. HAVA BONVOYAGE (9) was last throughout in a slowly run race at Harold Park last outing but his form prior was strong and a better showing is expected. STAMINATOR (6) was unplaced in the Carousel Final at Menangle last outing and is likely to find this assignment easier. He has the fine strike rate of 13 wins from 31 starts and is worth following. ERNEST HANOVER (5) has done well since coming from Queensland with two wins at Menangle from three attempts. This race is harder but he is worth a place ticket.
