heraldsun.com.au Flemington TODAY PROS TALKING Mark Read IASbet BOOKMAKER DIAMONDSONDINSIDE (Flem R3 No. 3): The big track will suit today and if he can repeat his rating from last start he will be the one to beat. Robbie Laing TRAINER VENGO(Flem R3 No. 6): Had a setback about a month ago when he had a bad attack of colic so he is regaining his fitness from then. His last run was better and the big Flemington track will help so I am hoping he shows enough to indicate that he has a future as a flat horse. VINDICATING (Flem R6 No. 9): 2800m will be right up his alley and this will be his last hitout before next week’s Andrew Ramsden which is his aim for the campaign. He is a big, tough horse and he’ll be hitting the line hard today. AWIMOWEH(Flem R8 No. 2): Very talented galloper but he has always raced well when he has drawn inside barriers and he has drawn 15 here. So the negative is a poor barrier and a rise in weight but he is a very promising horse and he’s going well. Heath Conners TRAINER RAREPOPPI (Flem R5 No. 11): Ran a good first-up run and ran second when second-up last campaign. Is a winner here. TRESOR(Flem R7 No. 11): Very unlucky last start and I believe that if she had got out 50 metres earlier would have nearly won. CHASM(Morph R6 No. 3): Travelled up very well and has settled in nicely. I expect him to be extremely hard to beat. HOT JOCKS Query runner: Tears I Cry is capable of turning his form around at Flemington today. TRACK: Good 3 PENETROMETER: Overall: 4.51 Inside: 4.48 Outside: 4.44 RAIL: Out 11m LAST MEETING: Out 8m LAST TIME OUT 10: June 7 2008 RAINFALL: 0.6mm for week RADAR: Isolated showers 1 MIDNIGHT OIL 4 with MICHAEL MANLEY sondinside to win. Take him to defeat 1 and 8 in exactas. OPEN race to start off, with lots of converging formlines. TOLL- ESPRIT (3) has been first past 2 the post in his two starts but lost the first on protest at Seymour. He won his next start impressively at Ballarat where he sat off the speed and won with something in hand. Should han- dle step up to 1420m. RED PIXIE (7) has shown ability in two Sydney runs. The only three runs of TAKE THE RAP (2) have been solid. EXCUSE MY FRENCH (1) won impressively at Wodonga. ON-PACERS: Tollesprit, Show Us Something, Take The Rap. SWOOPERS: Excuse My French, Red Pixie. SUGGESTED BET: Back Tollesprit (3) each-way. LEADING jockey Craig Williams has a solid book of rides today at Flemington. He is at $3 in the TAB Sportsbet Jockey Challenge and is bound to go close. THE MARKET $2.90 $3.00 $4.20 $6.50 $11.00 $21.00 $21.00 $41.00 Jarrod Noske Craig Williams Dwayne Dunn Brenton Avdulla Any other indiv. jockey Mark Pegus Ibrahim Gundogdu Steven King 3 Brenton Avdulla. At her last start she finished fourth behind subsequent Group 1 winner Typhoon Tracy bea- ten 3.4 lengths at level weights at Caulfield. She also missed the start which did not help. Three starts ago she finished third behind star Tassie filly and rival here TEMPEST TOST (1) on her preferred wet surface at this track. Meets her 3kg better here. Tempest Tost is a last start winner of the $1 million Magic Millions Trophy. TAKE ALL OF ME (7) is also very promising, running well down the straight here last start when third to INDIRECT (2). ON-PACERS: Tempest Tost, Indir- ect, Take All Of Me. SWOOPERS: Our Lona. SUGGESTED BET: Back Our Lona (4) each-way. Box 1, 4, and 7 in exactas. OUR LONA (4) is an above average filly and comes in well after 2kg claim from apprentice Super effort to win at Oakbank last start coming from a clear last on turn for a runaway win at his first try over 1400m. TESTAGUY (7) got to the line well behind a smart horse when second behind Cascabel at Ballarat over 1200m. Step up to 1400m will suit. CATS WHISKER (1) is a classy filly who resumed with a good first-up fourth at Flemington. TRUSTUS (2) revelled in the wet conditions to win a good country sprint last start over 1200m at Yarra Valley. Well drawn and appears better suited over short- er trips. 5 SWOOPERS: Glaneuse. SUGGESTED BET: Back Glaneuse (4) each-way. Box 1,4, and 7 in exactas. South Australian GLANEUSE (4) is a very promising galloper making his Melbourne debut. can handle all conditions. ART SUC- CESS (1) is the best performed horse in the race having won the 2006 Brisbane Cup. Showed with his sec- ond to Ista Kareem two starts ago at Moonee Valley he still has ability. Was beaten six lengths but was held up for a run. GRAND DESTINY (2) and LADIES IN LUCK (5) both like Flemington. Both also got too far back in leader dominated race at this track behind Brad Star. FLYING MONTY (13) is the query runner. Looked certain to win last start at Sandown but seemed to lose her stride. VINDI- CATING (9) has impressed in three runs for new stable as a stayer. ON-PACERS: Phaze Action, Vindi- cating. ON-PACERS: Trustus, Cats Whisker, Sheedy, Super Felix, Testa- guy. third behind two class gallopers in Chasm and Vigor this track and distance is the best form reference for this event. She should get a nice run on the speed and after 2kg claim from Brenton Avdulla will carry 54.5kg, only one more than she carried last start. SCENIC SCENE (9) finished strongly for easy win at Sandown Hillside over 1800m last Sunday. He is the only one taking winning form into this race. Query runners are the top two former classy performers — TEARS I CRY (1) and ANNENKOV (2). Both can turn form around. RARE POPPI (11) ran an encouraging first- up fourth at Benalla in a race where Scenic Scene finished second. Is a winner at his last start here — four years ago. ON-PACERS: Annenkov, Miss Ba- doura. Gold last week at Caulfield. This time last year he finished second to Fulmonti in a Group 3 2020m Chair- man’s Handicap at Doomben. READY TO LIFT (1) is a smart Sydney stayer who has won at Group 3 level. Ran home well for 3¾len seventh Chasm over 1610m in strong race here. SIR SKALAHAD (8) has been racing well over 2000m in the country. PRINCESS MARIZZA (4) and AZTEC SMYTZER (2) have talent but will get back and need to run on. ON-PACERS: Sir Skalahad, Dia- mondsondinside. SWOOPERS: Ready To Lift, Prin- cess Marizza, Aztec Smytzer. SUGGESTED BET: Back Diamond- DIAMONDSONDINSIDE (3) is flying for new stable. Got out too late when third behind Driffield 6 SWOOPERS: Scenic Scene, Tears I Cry, Rare Poppi. SUGGESTED BET: Back Miss Ba- doura (3) each-way. Rove her in exactas with 1, 2 ,9 and 11. a race where most will go back. Was strong winning his last start at San- down Lakeside on a heavy track and THE BANKERS ON VIDEO: DIAMONDSONDINSIDE (Race 3 No.3) GLANEUSE (Race 4 No.4) ON WEIGHTS: MISS BADOURA (Race 5 No.3) RAVISHING REWARD (Race 7 No.8) FLEXI QUADDIE FOR $100 1,2,3,9/1,2,4,6,9,13/2,8/1,2,3,5,8,9. For 34.72 per cent. PHAZE ACTION (6) is the young stayer with the most potential here. Will go forward in VETERAN mare MISS BADOURA (3) is maintaining her zest for racing. Her last start SWOOPERS: Art Success, Grand Destiny, Ladies In Luck. SUGGESTED BET: Phaze Action each-way. had little luck at her three runs back from a spell as each time she has been held up from inside draws. Flew home last start when she got into the clear. Looks well in on minimum weight and is probably the most talented horse in the race. AFTER- BURN (2) is a very consistent mare and will go forward from an outside draw. Finished second at Group 3 level this track and distance three runs ago to star filly Typhoon Tracy. HIFALUTIN (4) did not handle the wet track last start. Previous two runs back from a spell were good. MOYLAN (10), SHIBBOLETH (13) and TRESOR (11) have claims. ON-PACERS: Afterburn, Clandon, Sensational Toy. SWOOPERS: Ravishing Reward, Hi- falutin, Moylan, Shibboleth, Tresor. SUGGESTED BET: Back Ravishing Reward (8) each-way. Box 2, 4, 8, 10 and 13 in trifectas and exactas. 7 last start with big weight and from wide barrier. Still loomed up to win but was outsprinted by another horse with potential in ZUPACOOL (3) at San- down Lakeside. He meets him 1.5kg better. Will be suited by step to 2000m and is better drawn. MEMORISE (8) is a potential topliner. Has had little luck from an inside draw at his past two starts and again has to contend with barrier one. If he can get clear running will take holding out. CARNE- GIE DAN (9) won like a smart horse last start. Forget the run of THE TIGER (1) last run as his saddle slipped. AWIMOWEH (2) is another horse going places. Like The Tiger he will go forward and get a nice run. ON-PACERS: The Tiger, Awimoweh. SWOOPERS: Sarem, Memorise, Zupacool, Carnegie Dan. SUGGESTED BET: Back Sarem (5) each-way. 8 OPEN race with many promising young stayers in action here. SAREM (5) had to do it tough ALTHOUGH she has drawn the outside barrier it will suit RAV- ISHING REWARD (8) who has HERALD SUN SUPERFORM LIFTOUT THE MAIL Michael Manley STRAIGHT-OUT MORPHETTVILLE (Race 6 No. 3): Looks a perfect race for Chasm to end his campaign. Also take him to beat and box him with Bird Of Fire (No.2) in the exacta. Tim Habel RUNNING DOUBLE DOOMBEN(Races7&8Nos. 1& 16): Apache Cat is set to return to the winner’s list, he loves racing in Brisbane and flies second-up. If the short price doesn’t appeal to you, take a running double into Keano. That double is $14.20 on the fixed odds. Matt Stewart QUINELLA DOOMBEN(Race 7 Nos.4&9): Not sure Apache Cat is a good thing. Value in the race might be the ultra-consistent Swiss Ace (4), who is in bullet-proof form and will take lots of running down. Duporth (9) is the value runner. The three- year-old has had no luck all campaign but gets his chance from good draw in suitable race. Adam Hamilton EACH-WAY FLEMINGTON (Race 8 No. 5): Really like Sarem as a stayer with plenty of potential. Showed he was primed with eye-catching run last time. Big track and jump to 2000m really suits. Herald Sun, Saturday, May 9, 2009 47 + www.tab.com.au The BIG6 will operate on the following meetings.
