She led when runner to her outstanding stablemate Rocknrolla at Geelong, then made a mistake and finished on their heels at Terang before coming from mid-field and when beaten a nose at Shepparton last time after a wide last lap. AMBERS CHOICE (10) came from three back the pegs to win a heat otf the Aussco Series on debut at Kilmore a month ago, then had the run of the race in the final at Bendigo when a gallant second to Nova Arama. PEACES OF YOU (2) showed plenty of ability when a close fourth to Modern Girl on debut at Moonee Valley in March before disappointing there in a strong race a fortnight later. She’ll appreciate dropping to provincial grade and has the draw. ESPSHLILUCKY LOMBO (7) is Lombo Pocket Watch’s half sister who ran fourth and fifth in heats of the APG and is another who’s dropping grade, but the awkward draw will make it hard. ART SHADOW (1) was placed on debut at Bendigo back in March, then ran fifth when wide to the breeze for second to Shanghi at Shepparton a fortnight ago. She’ll be a big improver from the draw. The first starters are FRISKY SHIRLEY (3) (Modern Art – Uncommon Sense), a Peter Wilson trained filly who recently won a Bacchus Marsh trial in slow time; and the David Murphy trained BLISSFULL BIRD (9) (Blissfull Hall – Voodoo Viper), a filly who’s won and been placed in recent trials here. He trailed wide in the last lap when a gallant third to Beleva at the Valley a fortnight ago, then sat mid-field when a solid fourth from the mobile there last weekend to I Didnt Do It. FALSE GEM (9) is a talented mare who won four races last season but hasn’t scored from 19 starts this term. Her latest run was a Moonee Valley day time fourth from this mark back in February and she grades well here on her best form. RIGHT INTEREST (8) is another who’s dropping class. She’s won three races at Albion Park earlier this season, has run a couple of nice races since returning to Victoria, and may do well for her first run in seven weeks. THE WINDSURFER (6) was close up when fourth in a strong Moonee Valley day affair a fortnight ago and is slowly returning to the form that won him five races last season. Each way chances to risky performers LOOK HERE BLOKE (4), who’s overdue a win at this level; and BUNTYS INVASION NZ (5), who ran a big race in the Mildura Trotters Cup after a bad beginning and hasn’t had much go his way in two Moonee Valley runs since. JACCKA DUDE NZ (3) ran an improved race for fourth in handy company here last week and has claims along with LAST COMMUNICATION (6), who hasn’t won for some time but looked okay when badly held up and sixth to Kalypson Kid in a hot Mildura race during their carnival. He won his third race for the season when beating a strong field in the consolation of the Bathurst Gold Chalice four starts back, then was luckless at Menangle before a close third there to George Dubya, then made a mistake in a NSW Derby Heat on that circuit a fortnight ago. He looks well graded in this CO affair. ARLEGE BAY (7) is a dual winning filly this season, the most recent of those successes here six weeks ago. She then came from the rear when third at Terang, before failing in an Oaks heat here before a solid fourth to Kid Coconut in strong company at Yarra Valley at her latest run. KEEPERS DAUGHTER (9) trailed wide in the last lap to score nicely at Terang before losing her driver in an early scrimmage at Geelong last time. She draws to trail and sit just off the pace, and has strong claims. That trio of handy three year olds rate clearly ahead of honest five year old PARLO (1), who comes off placings here and at Maryborough; LIFES PRECIOUS NZ (4), who ran a nice fourth at Shepparton before galloping twice at the Valley during the week; and LARRIKIN ACE (5), who finished well for a first up Terang second to Boy From Ipanema (ARLEGE BAY (7) third.). He followed seconds to Villagem at Cranbourne, and to Godines Jasper at Geelong with an all the way and easy Terang victory, then was wide to the breeze and fought on well to beat all but highly talented filly Dreams Of Heaven at Maryborough nine days ago. From the draw, he looks the clear top pick. SHOT FROM THE HIP NZ (10) made it three wins from only five starts when wide to the breeze and scoring over the sprint trip here last week. Three starts back he won a heat of the Mildura Guineas and followed up with a luckless unplaced effort in the final. PERFECT SHOT (11) was second up from a long spell when outclassing a moderate field by 23 metres at Shepparton eleven days ago where he covered ground and rated fast time. This is harder but he’s obviously a big improver this term. KOH SAMUI (3) won a similar race to this in all the way fashion at the Valley (day) back in February, then was placed at Kilmore before luckless standing start failures. He was held up and made late ground when sixth in a Valley day affair a fortnight ago. This should suit. Each way chances to RARE TEMPTATION NZ (1), a Charlton winner in February who battled on well after making two moves when second at Charlton last time; ARE CEE DEE (4), who easily won a moderate Charlton affair at his latest run; and LEICITSAFE (12), who was having his third run from a long spell when successful at Shepparton recently. GAVLENN RYOSHY (6) and BULLSEYE FALCON (8) also have some chance. Ratings: 2 / 10 / 3, 11 / 1, 4, 12 / 6, 8. Suggested bet: POWERFUL TYCOON (2) to win. He’s raced twice in this country for a close third in strong company at Cranbourne last November, then a disappointing unplaced standing start effort in a day race at Moonee Valley when an odds-on favourite. He resumes into a winnable race and from the good draw. PARWAN ROCKET (6) won a mobile at Cranbourne three starts back, then finished close up in a Moonee Valley daytime mobile before leading when cut down late from the stand here at the latest meeting. He goes well from the stand and with only one line of front markers in front of him, should settle close enough to the lead . JOHNORAMA (9), who goes well from the stand, followed a luckless Moonee Valley daytime fifth with a sixth in strong company at Bendigo last Monday, where he was doing his best work at the finish. This looks his sort of race. LOTA VISION NZ (7) sat mid-field when a close third from the stand here last time and is always a chance at this level. JAZZEE VALENTINE NZ (8), who can be risky has ability but is resuming, is the query runner. CUMULATIVE DREAMS (1), SLATEY CREEK ROAD (3), STARRY STARRY BABY (4) and LEON PHELPS (5) are worth throwing into multiples. Ratings: 2 / 6, 9 / 7, 8 / 1, 3, 4, 5. A talented gelding who’s won 11 of 27, he had good form late last year but hasn’t started since a Moonee Valley mid-field finish in January. He prepped for this with a solid second to In Monaco in a recent Kilmore trial and looks the class runner. LITTLE VANCE LOT (3) has won four races this season and not had much luck at his latest couple of outings. Beaten narrowly by Brooklyn Bute in fast time at Ballarat three starts back, he’s finished just behind the placegetters twice in metro company at the Valley since, and looks nicely graded and suited from the draw. LANDSCAPE (2) showed gate speed when a solid third to Very Chic at Geelong three weeks ago, then was caught wide for a long way when weakening to the rear in a fast Moonee Valley affair last weekend. That was from the second line and he’ll appreciate this draw. GOOD BYE (4) hasn’t done much racing over the past couple of seasons but Rodney Petroff seems to have the key to him as he’s won twice (both on this circuit) from four runs since joining his stable. He looked a forlorn chance on the home turn here at the latest meeting before storming home to win narrowly. BELOKA DIAMOND (1) is an honest mare who draws to get money while YES I CAN (8) who trails her out has claims on his last start second to No More Secrets here after a wide trip. ARMA HARRIS (9) was placed at the Valley and in the Warragul Cup before having no luck over the mile at the Valley, then lost his driver shortly after the start in a stand there last week. Best of the others is CRAFTY DENNIS (7), who’s resuming from a short break and from a wide draw, but has enough talent when in his best form. Ratings: 2, 3, 5 / 4 / 1, 8, 9 / 7. FOUR WISE MEN (2) is a David Murphy trained youngster who led all the way at Maryborough before luckless efforts from wide barriers there, and at Charlton five weeks ago when caught wide and a solid third. He won a trial here recently and looks nicely suited from the draw. CLOSE SHAVE LOMBO (3) beat Pjaysparty, a dual winner since at Maryborough a month ago, then ran third in both heat and final of the Mildura Guineas before fighting on gallantly after a wide trip when third here at the latest meeting. He looks nicely suited. SATINS MATE (4) has raced four times for a win and three placings. A Warragul winner in November, he was then placed in a strong Moonee Valley affair, and followed with a second at Bendigo before going for a spell. He’s been trialling well for his return. CRAVE (5) looked good in his all the way Charlton victory last week and has claims along with OUR ARCHANGEL (1), who’s been drawing poorly and having no luck. He has gate speed and is a genuine chance of both leading and winning. TOTAL ASSET (6), who won here from the breeze two starts back, resumes off a slow trial win on this circuit.
