Forget last start, top show. KUNARI KEEPTIME (8) was bad out before racing wide at her third outing to win at Leeton. Good chance. MANWARRA JACKPOT (1) best run to date was a Kilmore placing last start over the short trip. Has the ideal draw to run into the placings again. THE PUMPER (4) has been in the placings at two of his past five starts. Include in trifectas. MISS POTENTIAL (7) can improve on her efforts since a break. KILLALOEDREAMER (2) is a Briso Hanover – A Timetodream mare making her debut for Bill Lee. Prefer to watch first up. His best recent effort was doing it tough at Bendigo to finish runner up. Go well. SALJET (9) has improved with each run. Her latest effort was runner up at Echuca. Good chance. CARRIGDHOUN (4) was second up from a spell when placed over the longer trip here before breaking last start. This not strong, good prospects. KILBURNIE MARY (7) has a poor draw but was runner up at Shepparton over a similar trip two starts back. MISSINGINACTION (2) can do better than recent form suggests. Place chance to KIMBOLTON COBBER (1) from the ideal draw over the short trip, TUSCANY LASS (5) an Echuca placegetter four starts back and CHARLIE STEELE (6). SELECTIONS: ROBRIC JACKSON (8) Saljet (9), Carrigdhoun (4), Kilburne Mary (7). RATINGS: 8, 9 / 4 / 7 / 1, 2, 5, 6. SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta: 8 & 9 to win, 4, 7, 8 & 9 for second with the field for third. $20.00 for 47.6%. SPRINT LANE with ADAM HAMILTON the exciting spectacle most expected, but that certainly didn’t worry the connections of winner Cuttheattitude. T Given both last week’s qualifying heats were won in blistering time, fireworks and maybe an Australian record looked on the cards in Satur- day night’s final at Albion Park. Instead, The Felicity Gallagher-trained Cuttheat- titude easily found the lead for driver Jimmy Brown, dawdled through a 61.6sec middle 800m split and held off a gallant Chariot King to win in a pedestrian 1min 57.1sec mile. Despite that, there’s no doubt the first five placeget- ters in the final — For A Reason ran third, Renais- sance Man (fourth) and Jorg Is Best (fifth)—will go on to be outstanding pacers. The best run of the race was clearly For A Reason, who smashed the clock making ground from last to finish third in the leader- dominated affair. + growing reputation as Australia’s most popular R EJUVENATED veteran Karloo Mick built on his pacer when he went back to the bush to win on Saturday. Dubbo-based trainer Barry Lew showed his support for the bush when he took Karloo Mick to win the Young Cup. Stroll: Conaroyal wins the trotters Vicbred final on Friday night. Picture: GARY WILD It was Karloo Mick’s first start since running a mighty third to Mr Feelgood in the Gold Coast Inter Dominion final on March 28. Karloo Mick did the work without cover for driver Greg Bennett, but was simply too strong and classy for the ultra-consistent Victorian visitor Bold Cruiser in a slick 2min mile rate for 2480m. T WO trotters, Joe Bro and Conaroyal, were the most HE talent-crammed $300,000 Australian Gold final wasn’t quite impressive winners at Moonee Valley’s Group 1 meeting last Friday night. Joe Bro won by a cricket pitch and clocked super time winning the the appropriately-named Emerg- ing Stars trotting final. Trainer Peter Manning achieved amazing things with trotters Knight Pistol and to a lesser extent Sammy Do Good and Joe Bro also looks headed for the top. Conaroyal also looked to have plenty of X-factor with an arrogant win in the $50,000 Group 1 Vicbred final for three-year-old trotters. The Danny Norris-trained gelding was always going to need luck from an awkward inside back row draw, but when driver Craig Demmler saw daylight the race was over very quickly. H ARNESS racing punters are in store formore fixed odds markets as Tabcorp continues to fight back against corporate book- makers. In recent months Tabcorp, through TAB Sportsbet, has dramatically expanded the number of fixed odds markets throughout racing. Insiders say by June there will also be a lot more harness and greyhound races being covered by fixed odds. HEROES UKARLOO MICK (Lovable old marvel) JOHN HALLAM (Capped a dream transition from bookmaker to trainer) CUTTHEATTITUDE (A seriously tough two-year-old) CHARIOT KING/FOR A REASON (Best of the beaten brigade in the Aussie Gold final) JOE BRO (Peter Manning’s next star trotter) CONAROYAL (Wow!) Strong claims. LUCKNOW LADY (9) has been in the placings nine times this season. A Leeton winner three starts back, she should be right in the finish. JAZ EQUITY (2) was held up when resuming. He likes the short trip and will be fitter here. Capable of finishing in the placings. SNAZZY INTEREST (5) led when resuming at Nyah before racing outside the leader over this trip last start. Has claims. HEZANOPERATIVE (7) manners have been poor but was runner up at Leeton when resuming. Don’t dismiss lightly. THE GOLDEN LORD (1) was runner up twice when last in work. Fitter for one run from a spell and has the pole which is a help around this track. DOUWANNADRIVE (3) resumes here for new trainer Daniel Jack. Big watch. Place chance to SAFARI BLUE STAR (8).
