He is even more effective when he comes from off the pace and he should be suited under these conditions. BELOKA DIAMOND (4) is an honest mare, which ran to the line well for second to Barachias in fast time at Shepparton last week. She is drawn to gain a nice trail just off the pace and will take holding out in the run to the finish. MEGASAM (9) has been freshened since a fifth behind Smoken Up in the Geelong Rocket and was a standing start specialist in New Zealand so he must be respected. CAPTIAN CULLEN (5) had little luck in the straight and should have finished closer at Shepparton last week. He is very versatile and has built up a good strike rate so he is not without a chance. DOOLAN JACK (8) is a fast beginner from the standing start and weaved through the pack when he just failed to overhaul Awesome Armbro in the Warragul Cup on April 12. He faces a tough handicap of 20m but rates as an each way chance. TWIRLING (1) is a good standing start performer and has won two recent trials so is worth a place ticket. The Queenslander FANCY CARDSHARK (2) won a heat of the Premiers Cup under similar conditions last year but is meeting a strong field for his Victorian debut. VERANJEE (11) is racing in great form but is a risky beginner from the standing start. He has struck form in recent weeks and with the withdrawal of Gloria Lombo, looks hard to beat. TRANQUIL ODYSSEY (1) worked to the line well for third behind Barachias in fast time at Shepparton last outing. She possesses early speed and is racing well but her losing streak of 42 starts is a concern. CRAFTY DENNIS (5) was aggressively driven from the outside of the front line to lead, took a trail and finally worked into the clear via an inside run when a handy third to Yes I Can last week. He should be fitter for that run and is one of the major chances. GOOD BYE (7) is racing in good form but will need luck from his wide draw. He is a minor place hope along with LOMBO LUMBER JACK (10), which is a strong type but would be better placed on the front line, and WATCHMEFELLA (11). The first emergency ARMA HARRIS (3) gains a start with the withdrawal of Gloria Lombo and looks to be the likely leader so he can improve on his numerical form. The Glenn Douglas trained pair ALTIVO (2) and MISS LAURA JANE (12) could also fill a place if they gained the right luck in running. BELLS AND WHISTLES (6) remains undefeated from six starts and led throughout to comfortably win his heat of this series. He may not find the lead here but is still the horse to beat. COMPOSED (8) demolished his rivals when on debut then showed great acceleration to circle the field and lead at the 1100m when he won at his next attempt. He finished strongly when second to BELLS AND WHISTLES (6) in his heat effort and is an each way special if MODERN WARRIOR (1) holds the lead. MODERN WARRIOR (1) has been placed in 8 of his 9 attempts and possesses early speed. From the pole position, he’s likely to be in front or trailing the leader so he must be considered. MANWARRA LITENEZY (2) seemingly had his chance in his heat effort but is perfectly drawn and he is still learning. He is nicely bred and should continue to improve with the benefit of racing. COUSIN CHRISTIAN (11) ran a good race for third in his heat effort and is a minor place chance despite drawing on the outside of the second line. ELIXIR (1) was held up for a run at a vital stage when a fast finishing second in the Oaks and worked very hard in the early stages before gaining cover in her heat win of this series. She is perfectly drawn so is a good chance of turning the tables on BROADWAYS BEST (12) this evening. There is no doubt that BROADWAYS BEST (12) is the class runner of the field and she won her heat of this series impressively but she will have to be at her best from her poor draw. KISSMECATIE (11) pushed forward to race without cover and comfortably won her heat over LIFES DESTINY (6) at Geelong. She ran a good race for fifth in the Victoria Oaks prior and is not to be underestimated. DREAMS OF HEAVEN (5) has struck form at the right time with two impressive all of the way victories in succession. She may not find the lead here but is very versatile and has won 10 of her 19 starts. STUNNING BIRD (3) was aggressively driven to race on the outside of the leader when she narrowly defeated MACY LILA (2) at Shepparton last week but is likely to find this to be a harder assignment. She is poorly drawn but looks well placed being an M6 assessed mare with her nearest rival on assessments being FLAMIN YOMAX (10) (M3). LADY LEXUS (7) couldn’t have drawn worse than the outside of the front line but possesses an exceptional turn of speed. She made up approximately 20m in the back straight to join the leader and eventual winner Hava Bonvoyage in a sizzling third quarter of 28.0 seconds at Newcastle last week so she was entitled to peak on her run. REDEMPTION (4) won eight races in succession prior to a second at Harold Park where the leader got away with a luxurious run in front. She is much better drawn for this assignment and is worth another chance. FLAMIN YOMAX (10) is a tough mare from New South Wales and finished third in the Queen Of The Pacific at Moonee Valley last year. She is awkwardly drawn but is very honest. HOWARDS DILEMMA (1) trailed the leader when second in the Super Series Final and is drawn to receive a similar trail. Likewise for WYPERFELD (8), the Super Series victor, which came from midfield on the markers in that memorable win and will gain a similar run in transit from the inside of the second line. She has a trailing draw and is ready to break through for a win. KEPPEL BAY (12) was resuming since a second in the Queensland Oaks when she moved up without cover and boxed on well for second to PARIS ANGEL (5) at Geelong. She is very durable and should be competitive despite the poor draw. PARIS ANGEL (5) pushed forward to lead and recorded handy time last outing. This race is a little tougher but she is racing at her peak form. SHEZ RYLEYMAK (9) seemingly had her chance when second in her heat effort at Nyah and is awkwardly drawn behind AYU GYPSY (1) but won the 2yo version of this race last year so she cannot be discarded. QUEEN OF FIRE (11) endured a tough run when third at Nyah last outing and has a good strike rate. ANANZ (4) and AY TEE EM (6) both disappointed last time but are too classy to dismiss. JAYDENS CASTLE (5) is racing in career best form and is shooting for six straight victories. He worked out of the gate, gained a trail and came again in the straight when a big winner over EM MAGUANE (12) last week. EM MAGUANE (12) held out the early challenge of JAYDENS CASTLE (5) and set up a genuine tempo when beaten narrowly in his semi-final effort. He impressively defeated Tanabi Bromac in his heat effort prior and is capable of overcoming the outside of the second line. CRUSADERS CASTLE (2) possesses early speed and will appreciate his best draw for some time. He ran a nice race last week and is peaking at the right time. SECRET TENDER (9) sprinted sharply from three back on the markers to get up and beat MAFFIOSO (7) last week. He should receive a nice run from his trailing draw and is an each way chance again. MAFFIOSO (7) is a classy individual but had his chance to win when leading at his second run back from a break. He is widely drawn and is a query over the 2575m. He is awkwardly drawn but should be finishing strongly. FAROUK (4) took out a metropolitan event at Harold Park in March and sprinted quickly from a trailing position to win a claiming race at Charlton last outing. He is suited to this class and is one of the leading chances again. BOLD RAIDER (10) is resuming since March and returns to trainer Dean Braun. He has a terrific record against the claiming class and is worth thought on an each way basis. GARSTANG (12) races best when he is able to lead but has been very competitive against similar grade in recent weeks. SONNY PARK LAD (2) worked hard in the early stages, took a trail and was held up for momentum on the home turn when he finished well for third last time. He was withdrawn from the final of that series but will take beating if he is somewhere near his peak form. CONQUER ALL (6) finished well to defeat the pacers two starts back then endured a tough run when a creditable fifth to the outstanding trotter I Didn’t Do It last outing. He lacks early dash from the mobile but will appreciate a drop in class on his latest efforts. SPEEDY NAOMI (1) struck trouble at the start and lost all chance in the Super Series Final last outing but has a good record under the mobile conditions and is likely to end up trailing the leader SKYVALLEY (4) so she is a definite place chance.
