His manners have been excellent so far (2-y-o trotters are always a risk) including a trial win last Sunday at Bendigo in good time. Back to 10m but still looks well suited. ELUSIVE CHARM (7) is another well educated youngster who shows a good turn of speed. She is first up for a couple of months but won well at her latest appearance and was an easy trial winner recently. RONNIES WAGON (9) was an all the way winner last time and looks to be on the improve. He is capable of winning again with the right run. BACKAS COBBER (10) continues to improve at every run and turned in a terrific run off 20m behind MISTER CASTLETON after working hard last start. Good chance despite the back mark. PLANE SAILIN LOMBO (1) is knocking on the door and gets a good draw and head start on some of it’s recent rivals here. Good each way chance. SPIRAL JET (3) has been going well since a little freshen up and looks ready to win a race like this. He is normally a good stand start beginner (led in latest stand) and should be right in the finish. LARGE ASLIFE LOMBO (7) is very consistent at this level and won well last time in similar grade. He should be thereabouts again. COVERED IN INK (8) is a very quick stand start beginner, he has won here from the stand. Battled on O.K last time and has an each way chance at double figure odds. He led last time out and will be hard to beat if he can do the same here. MACUEN ROAD (12) should be ready to produce the form he showed last season (won two races). He will need a little luck early from a bad draw but is one of the top chances. ITS BILLIE HOLIDAY (2) is very honest but finds it hard to win. Hasn’t been far away recently and again should be in the money somewhere. CALM BAY (11) has the ability to win races but doesn’t always have the manners to win late in his races. He did get to line OK last time behind 3-Y-O Vicbred winner Conaroyal. Repeat of that gives him a chance here. ESS JAYS DASH (1) has plenty of ability but is first up for over 15 months. He has been placed twice in metropolitan company recently and looks the winner here. TRES HOMBRES (3) is a promising type who had his first Aussie run when 3rd at a Moonee Valley day meeting in good time. Looks the only danger. OLD WARRENDYTE ROAD (7) has won two races this season and is never far away. He is very honest and can fill a place here. STATUS SEEKER (8) ran a much improved race for a very good 2nd last start. Lance Justice stable is ‘flying’ and has a strong each way hope. MICKIE DILLINGER (12) has an awkward draw but is a classy pacer and drops back a little in grade on his recent runs. Each way claims. RARE TEMPTATION (4) had all the favours to win last time and can place. KOKODA COURAGE (6) has good gate speed to position well and fill a place. This is race is no harder but back row draw means he’ll need luck early. DANNY BOUCHEA (8) is a former star young trotter who won the derby last season but is struggling to re-capture that form. On his best form he could win this. KING HIGH (12) didn’t get into the race last start from a back line draw. Better suited in this field, each way. Expect another strong performance despite the handicaps. SONNY SULIBOP (2) is very consistent and from the front line should give a bold display. LA MOSCA (8) looks well in off 10 metres based on his Melbourne form and should be in the finish. PINKSTWOTTER (11) is starting to find some form and is not badly treated from the 20 metre handicap. RAYLEIGHS CROWN (9) is a grand old campaigner and is a fast beginner from the stand start. He rarely runs a bad race and should be kept safe. MASTER MAORI (13) is resuming from a short break and is one of the class runners in the field.
