He’s a handy gelding who’s won 14 of 42 and is racing in career best form. GILT BROMAC (5) is a high quality mare who had the run of the race to win here three starts back, then finished third in a fast 1:57.0 for this trip to Pacific Charm here in “The Cinderella” before running a luckless fourth to Jazzam over the mile in the Ladyship Cup here a fortnight ago. She has enough gate speed to find a forward position. HARRYS LASS (2) impressed in placings here in March/early April but hasn’t done much in three runs since. A KIlmore trial winer during the week, she flies the gate on occasions and would have an excellent chance at her best. That trio rate clear of tough claimer DARK SHADOW (8), who’s likely to get a soft trip behind this favourite; and MCLLHATTON (3), who had the run of the race when a close third to quality performers Make Waves and Albert Jaccka here last week. In an open race, no runner can be ruled out. RATINGS: 1 / 5 / 2 / 3, 8 / 9 / 4, 6, 10. SUGGESTED BET: CRAFTY DENNIS (1) to win. 2 Toyota Means Business Hcp 7.12 2575m. $15001. His two runs from a spell have yielded impressive come-from-behind victories at Cobram and Shepparton and he draws to complete the hat trick – the only query is that he was unplaced at his only standing start try. CONFIGURATION (5) has been placed in two of four standing start tries when third here to Jazzam at a day meeting before winning in strong fashion in another daytime affair here three weeks ago. Forget his latest run when fifth from the breeze behind Mr Clancy at Geelong after working hard in a 1:56.7 mile. HOWARDS DILEMMA (1) was making her standing start debut when lucklessly close up in last week’s Queen Of The Pacific where she raced against Australia’s best mares. Four starts back she beat Kept For Pleasure in a 4YO Super Sires Semi-final here before running second to Wyperfeld in the final. Rate her highly. VERANJEE (12) rarely runs a bad race and was noticed running on strongly in the closing stages when fourth in a similar race to this from a back mark here a fortnight ago. Chances also to the speedy WILL IT MATTER (4), who’s a query at the stand; and MYRNIONG PANORAMA (9), who handles the stand okay. RATINGS: 2 / 5 / 1, 12 / 4, 8 / 6. He’s not brilliant out but will certainly be close enough, and his lead up runs include a luckless third here over the sprint trip and a last start mid-field finish when caught outside the leader in a blisteringly fast race at Bendigo. BARACHIAS (6) sat in the breeze to score impressively at Shepparton, then ran a tough third to Tear It All Away here last week after working to the breeze at the bell. Although drawn wide, he has gate speed and looks suited over the sprint trip. NO ENCORE (2) used the sprint lane when second to Bullee Bullee here three starts back and hasn’t had much go his way in either run since. He lacks high early speed but from this alley, will be handy enough in the run . Each way chances to stablemates NO MORE SECRETS (3) and VILLAGE PUNGEE (4) along with impressive last start Ballarat winner JILLIBY PRINCE (9), while CHRISTIANS DAUGHTER (8), who led and failed here last week, is sure to do a lot better this time from the trail. She may lead and if so, will be mighty hard to run down. YANKEE BLUES (6) was placed from the breeze against the pacers of Shepparton before flashing home from near last on the corner for fifth here last week, and is racing into some good form. LORD OF THE GYM (3), one of our top 2 & 3YO’s over the past couple of seasons, followed his heat win and second in the final of the 4YO Super Sires with a disappointing unplaced effort behind all the way winner LOOK HERE BLOKE (7) at Geelong last Saturday night. Give him another chance. Chances also to RED SAMURAI (2), who’s overdue to win at this level and trialled brilliantly at Geelong last Monday night; last week’s Geelong winner LOOK HERE BLOKE (7); CONQUER ALL (8), who’s due a win at this level; and tough mare FALSE GEM (13), who’s done well in all three runs from a break. He’s a brilliant beginner who’ll probably cross these early and, whether holding the lead or handing up and using the sprint lane, looks the clear top pick. VILLAGEM (3) led all the way to hold off a late challenge from VILLAGE OF DREAMS (4) in their heat of this race at Bendigo, then used the sprint lane to beat LIVING ON FIRE (11) here last week. He has gate speed, may be first to the pegs, and can do it both ways, leading or sitting. Australian Derby winner VILLAGE OF DREAMS (4) returned from a short break for a fast finishing second to VILLAGEM (3) in his heat at Bendigo, then worked hard early to find the lead when cut down late in his Semi by GARNET RIVER (5). His driver Gavin Lang has a knack of winning these Group One races. LIVING ON FIRE (11) has been done no favours by the awkward barrier draw but is too good to deny. He sat outside and out-stayed GARNET RIVER (5) to win his heat of this race at Yarra Valley a fortnight ago, then was brave in defeat when out-sprinted in a 56.3 last half by VILLAGEM (3) here last week. The most likely scenario will see him work around to the breeze and he races well from that spot. The value runner could be PRESIDENTIAL LANE (9), who beat HILTON FLY HIGH (8) in his heat at Yarra Valley, then sat in the breeze here last week when a close third to GARNET RIVER (5). He trails out the early speed and has a strong finishing burst. HILTON FLY HIGH (8) is the other winning chance but will need luck as he’s drawn behind a slow beginner. RATINGS: 5 / 3 / 4, 9, 11 / 8. SOPHIE PASS (1) rarely runs a bad race here and wasn’t far away when fourth in the Queen Of The Pacific last week. From the pole draw, she’ll either lead or use the sprint lane. The other winning chance belongs to DILINGER GIRL (2), who hasn’t won this season but ran a brave race when cut down late after leading at Geelong last weekend. RATINGS: 9 / 1, 4 / 2 / 6, 8. Top pick ROHAN HOME (6) is a top Sydneysider who was most unlucky when placed in last year’s Breeders Crown final, then won a heat of the APG at Cranbourne before a close second to stablemate ESPRIT DE KAYJAY (3) in the final when just failing to overcome a tough trip. He’s won at all three starts since resuming and has the gate speed to be prominent. EM MAGUANE (5) has won 7 of 13 this season, the latest of those after a bad standing start beginning here three starts back. He led when cut down late in a 4YO Super Sires Semi-final on this circuit two starts back, then ran a mighty race in the final when wide from the 1250 and cut down in the closing stages into third place by MAGIC OPERATIVE (8). PACIFIC CHARM (2) is racing as well as any mare in Australia. She made it four wins on end when completing a hat trick of Moonee Valley successes in all the way fashion here three weeks ago, then came from the second line when wide to the breeze and touched off late by Dance Of Life in the Queen Of The Pacific here last week. ESPRIT DE KAYJAY (3) is a talented four year old who hasn’t put a foot wrong this season after winning the APG final here late last term. He has gate speed. Last season’s 3YO Breeders Crown winner MAGIC OPERATIVE (8) beat ESPRIT DE KAYJAY (3) at Harold Park in April and comes off an outstanding effort when sprinting home from the rear to win the 4YO Super Sires Final here a fortnight ago. He should settle close enough to use his fast finishing burst to effect. OUR MALABAR (11), who draws poorly, is in outstanding form and always a chance in these big races. He worked hard to the breeze when runner up to Conaroyal in the Super Sires Final here a month ago when second up, then found the lead for an easy Cranbourne victory at his latest start. TROTTN ON THE RITZ (1) led when a close second to Conaroyal in a heat of the Super Sires before making a mistake in the final. He wasn’t disgraced when second in the NSW Trotters Derby at Harold Park at his latest run and should lead this time over the sprint trip. If so, he’ll be hard to run down. Breeders Crown winner MAGIC INTEREST (4) has raced reasonably well this season and has claims, although his latest run when fading in a Super Sires heat at Geelong was poor. He’s been freshened and comes off a Kilmore trial victory. DOTTIE HINSON (2) has loads of ability but rarely trots all the way. The last time she did it right, she beat MAGIC INTEREST (4) at Yarra Valley back in March. CARLETONHILL (8) is an honest gelding who trails out the early speed and looks the other winning chance.
