He has only had six starts and is a twice winner, the latest of those at Forbury just under two months ago. He trialled nicely here recently and has had plenty of stand start experience in his homeland. ZIDANNE (7) is a model of consistency having been placed no further back then fourth at his past 10 starts. He pressured the leader throughout and went down fighting to Allegra here last time and with a touch of luck he can go one better. They rate clearly ahead of SPEAK DUTCH (1) who is first up for Peter Thompson and can place from the pole draw, along with HARBHAHAY (2), REGAL BALL (4), and the trotter SPEEDY ATOM (10). SELECTIONS: MISTER ZION (3), Zidanne (7), Speak Dutch (1), Regal Ball (4) RATINGS: 3,7/ 1,2,4,10/ 5,6,8 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 3,7/ 3,7/ 1,2,4,10 (Cost $20, which gives 250%) Ginger Gleeson Fr 67.00 Scratched Fr — Lance Justice Fr 10.00 2 Melton Saddlery 1.41 2100m. $5000. 3A0 to 3A1 3yo PBD Mobile Second Line 8 2s5s NEVER WALK ALONE 9 76745 SMOOTH Assessment: First starter COROMANDEL PRINCE (2) (Aces N Sevens – Scorched Almond) is worth a gamble here on the strength of his trial form. He has trialled twice in preparation for today, the first of those a comfortable victory at Bendigo then he stepped it up with a very impressive hit out here just over two weeks ago demolishing his rivals by 20m. He has obvious ability and has drawn nicely for his debut. FINAL REQUEST (10) led all the way over the sprint trip at Ballarat last start dashing home in fast splits. Not as well drawn this time but with luck he can give this a shake. URBAN ICON (3) used the sprint lane to score at Kilmore three starts back and does have good gate speed so he should be in the firing line throughout from his handy draw with other hopes going to NEVER WALK ALONE (8) who is first up but has trialled ok, SMOOTH (9) was unlucky last time at Warragul, PRETTY IN LACE (4), and the other debutante ONE FOR RON (5) (Bellas Boy – Miss Bryley) has trialled well for his first go under race conditions. SELECTIONS: COROMANDEL PRINCE (2), Final Request (10), Urban Icon (3), Smooth (9) RATINGS: 2,10/ 3,4,5,8,9/ 7/ 1,6 SUGGESTED BET: COROMANDEL PRINCE (2) each way 10 43361 FINAL REQUEST Geoff Webster Fr 5.50 Shane Hoban Fr 5.00 Chris Alford Fr ?4.50 3 Geoff Wilson Trot 2.16 2100m. $5000. She usually begins well and in a wide race she has strong claims. ESS JAYS DASH (7) is a beautifully bred five year-old who has had his share of problems over his short career. He finished off nicely for fourth behind Tyranny of Four at Maryborough last time and he will be better for that run as it was his first in 16 months. ITS BILLIE HOLIDAY (11) is going well of late with a close up third in the race mentioned above and she wasn’t far away when fourth here prior. She’ll have to work for it this time from the draw but she has a chance along with PARIS ROSE (1), ITS LIGHTSCAMERACTION (8), STARLIGHT FURY (6) and REDLINE REAPER (9). He bolted in at Maryborough two back in fast time then his mind wasn’t on the job when he finished down the track behind Are Cee Dee at Ballarat. If he puts his best hoof forward he wins. DANCING LEGACY (3) had his chance when third to Leicitsafe at Shepparton then was outclassed behind Dreams of Heaven at Maryborough. This is easier and he has good gate speed. INTHEDEADOFNIGHT (7) scored via the sprint lane at Warragul last time out but he has drawn a lot worse today and is a place chance only along with ROCK ON TIGER (8). He’ll need luck from the alley but with a solid pace he can run over the top of them. TSUNAMI LOMBO (9) made a mid race move to go and sit parked and cruised away from his rivals in the straight to win impressively at Ballarat last time and a repeat of that will see him go very close in this. SCANLON (6) is going great guns at the moment. He did it tough but still fought on courageously up the straight to beat all bar the leader Leicitsafe at Yarra Valley last start. He’s drawn poorly but is a show at odds if he can get a nice trip. Rough hope go to TCEESAFLYN (8). She loves these conditions and she is sure to give them something to chase should she find the top. FRANCO AMBASSADOR (11) finished unplaced in a strong Moonee Valley affair before he led and had his chance for fifth to Onagivenday at Menangle in a heat of the Carousel. The stable is firing and with a safe beginning he’s sure to be hard to beat. THE SYSTEM STAR (1) made good ground late in fast time when third to Coastal last start and if he steps he may be the blowout. JUST PRESENTABALL (8) was a winner at Ballarat from the stand two runs ago and has strong place claims. CASUAL FELLA (2) should be good odds and is worth a ticket each way. He had no luck at all when finishing a close up fourth to Jaccka Clive at Bendigo then he finished hard for third behind Mr Clancy and Albert Jaccka at Geelong in slick time. He’s nicely drawn and is a chance of leading out and then handing up. IP GAME OF CHANCE (4) looks the likely leader. He was gallant in defeat last start at Ballarat after being taken on and if he gets left alone in front he can make them pay. SECRET TENDER (7) won a heat of the Super Series before finishing last in the final from a horror draw. He has drawn badly again but he does have a powerful sprint and if he gets a cart into the race he’ll be mighty hard to hold out. PONCHARTRAIN (6) is another quality four year- old who ran a good second to the flying Radio City at Terang last time and has claims in this with the right run. AS IT IS IN HEAVEN (1) has also bumped into Broadways Best her past two and from the ideal alley she should be in front for a long way and is the main danger to the favourite. LORNABELLE (4) scored easily at Ararat then couldn’t work into the race from a poor draw finishing midfield to Duart Castle at Terang.
