Proving costly but spacious track will assist his claims. STEEL BURG (7) is mixing his form but plenty to enthuse about game 5.3m win from Claramente in 1609m Newcastle 3R0/3R1 May 28. Sure to give a bold sight if he can repeat the deed. 8. Rockys Image resumed in brilliant style to land 1.7m win from Miss Woodport in easier 2140m Bankstown 3A0 Jun 1. Definitely one to follow with a degree of confidence. PONDEROSA JONNY (4) just missed when head 2nd to Prince Marshall in that same Newcastle race on May 28. Trainer has taken him along slowly and represents value. ART RULER (5) should find this much easier than 24.2m 6th to renaissance Man in 1760m Harold Park 2A0+ May 29. JACCKA VICDON (2) completed country treble to land 2.3m win from Pagan Love in 1980m Tamworth C1/C2 May 6. Rested since but winner four of eight attempts, so no doubting his class. GREENMANS VALLEY (5) was below best when 20.6m to Haydens Comet in 2550m Newcastle C2/C4 May 30, at $3.80 fav since 3.8m 2nd to Running in 2550m Newcastle C2/C3 May 23. The 20m shouldn’t be a problem if she steps with them. LADY BELLANIQUE (3) is the obvious danger but she was back to her old tricks on Friday night when she snapped a six-race winning spell by putting in a shocker. She’s clearly better than that and if getting away cleanly is a huge chance off the front. SOL INVICTUS (8) was a big run behind MAIN ARTERY last time out, breaking at the start, recovering and then running on to finish 8.4m fourth. Another win can’t be far away. It’s difficult to see any of the others winning but A DREAM OF JEANS (2) should be fitter second-up and WEREKOGNIZE (4) and RADIANT STORM (6) are both place chances. SMARTY ARTY (2) loves to lead or take a sit behind the leader and could well get either of those spots here. HILTON ADONIS (7) is a former WA pacer close up in several claiming events of late. He hasn’t won since June last year, but must be respected. MANHATTEN BRIDGE (6) was an impressive winner last Saturday night after being jagged back at the start. Hryhorec could employ the same tactic here and watch for him late if the steam is on. CAMKENZIE BOY (4) has had one run since December when he retired from the race. His best form would see him right in the picture and any betting moves would be significant. GLACIER HOLMES (9) has run one good race in his past six, but that a very impressive performance in April beating Safe Ridge. Take on trust. He was a Mt Gambier winner in February and should give this a big shake. TIGER OREILLY (5) has a handy record and h won well three starts back. He is resuming here and should run well. HELLS FURY LOMBO (6) is a Million To One-Lombo El Nino colt trained by Kevin brough. He’s related to one winner but stable has a great record with debutants here and keep very safe. SIGN OF ANGELS (2) looked to have her chance last time when runner-up behind Acrostride. CAPTAIN RAMA (1) is a handy type who is nicely drawn and could run a cheeky race here. ACROSTRIDE (8) sound the lad and was never headed last time while WESTERN EMPRESS (9) is racing well in SA and must be considered. The horse is a last start Terang winner after getting all the favours behind the leader, but he sat in death at the previous run at Ararat and was just pipped on the post. He beat home last week’s GD winner for Brough, Amberlu Girls, that day. DUART CASTLE (6) won on the same Terang program on May 26 and ran quicker time than HE DID IT AGAIN. He has strong claims with Harding in the sulky. PREZ (1) has the draw to be a factor, but hasn’t had a run for three weeks and probably goes best over the sprint journey. DAKOTA HANOVER (2) is racing well, but will find this tougher and OUR LADY JANE (9) is working back to her best, but may need a couple more to be in top nick. He can get a nice cart through from the inside of the second row and the stable is firing. CRUSADERS CREST (3) should be fitter for his first-up fifth behind the in-form Rabahero and it’s possible the drop back to 1800m might suit from the good draw. LORENZO BROMAC (6) ran a good race behind Ohoka Dakota in handy time on Monday, while VILLAGE POP (10) finished in front of CRUSADERS CREST last weekend despite a wide gate. BEAUTIFUL DRIVE (5) has raced best over the shorter trips but hard to knock her form, including last-start win here in 2:01.5. Wide draw’s biggest query. VIRGINIA STORM (2) is another who’s best over shorter but has the draw to be prominent. She led throughout here three starts back then was caught in last stride after racing outside leader last time. WIDE LOAD (3) worked outside leader as fav when 5th here on Mon. He hasn’t won for nine months but is worth thought for multiples. HAVELOCK HANOVER (11) has been consistent and could run into a place, while SAME ACTION (7) is always thereabouts and shouldn’t be dismissed despite the gate. He has the advantage of a 10m handicap advantage on main dangers BADLANDS CHIEF (6) and MYRNIONG RAGER (7) and should take a power of beating. BADLANDS CHIEF (6) has been in great form and won seven straight here in SA before finishing runner-up at his past two behind Piccolo Wil Wil. He’s drawn a faction wide but is sure to give this a shake. MYRNIONG RAGER (7) is drawn wide but his form in SA has been very good. He defeated Conte De Cristo five starts back and was too good for Cullens Hope last time in a slugging finish when he did some work in the run. CULLENS HOPE (1) is bursting to win a race and he gave a bold sight two starts back in a strong field and was doing his best work late behind Piccolo Wil Wil. She did some work last time and only faded final stages after back-to-back placings here. She’s a good each-way chance. PARABADOO MAGIC (7) has been freshened for this after disappointing here last time. She won four straight earlier in her campaign and it’d be no surprise to see her bounce back. EVENING FROLIC (8) has hit peak form with back- to-back wins including all-the-way victory on Friday. Don’t dismiss her. LOVES A DRINK (6) is worth thought on all-the-way win here last time, while MADEMM (9) maintained honest formline with 3rd here on Sat. ARTEMIS CHEVAL (3) and LADY SMALL TIME (2) are worth thought for the exotics.
