He’s raced three times this season for a come-from-behind Kilmore victory in restricted company, a fourth to Villagem in a Super Sires heat at Bendigo and a tough last start Nyah victory over Twisted Firestarta (winner since), where he fought on strongly after sustaining a long run from the rear. This is the first time this season that he’s drawn the front line. ROOM WITH A VIEW (6) was a Cranbourne winner in strong company back in February and resumed from a break with a come-from-behind second to Gemma Rouge at Echuca ten days ago where she fought on well to the line. She’ll be improved and looks well suited by this bigger track. SIERRA TANGO (4) sat just off the pace to win recent races at Cranbourne and at Geelong, then came from near last off live cover when a close third at Cranbourne last weekend. She has gate speed and will enjoy her return to the front row. TOTAL ASSET (7) ran a brave third from the breeze here last time and has since won a trial on this circuit, but the wide alley will hinder her winning chance. JILLIBY BARTEL (8) looks best of the others on a tough second at Terang two starts back and a last start Stawell fourth when wide in the final circuit. RATINGS: 3 / 4, 6 / 7 / 8 / 1, 5 / 9. He’s since finished second to the smart Aldebaran Dream at Geelong and didn’t have much luck when fourth in the Holmfield at the Valley last weekend. MALS IMAGE (4) followed his third to CARLETONHILL at Maryborough (11) with a Holmfield fifth and may be in front and hard to beat here. BUTTON BRIGADE (5) was only having his third start when making good ground after copping an early check and second at Maryborough and he and MALS IMAGE (4) both meet CARLETONHILL (11) on ten metres better terms for narrow defeats. MISTER MALAKYE (7) is an honest type who was placed from the mobile at Cranbourne and Geelong before running fast time to win a Tabcorp Park trial from the 20 metre mark last Tuesday night. KIRSLY KEPT (2), ZANZI BROMAC (3) and IN BAR GO (8) have more ability than their form-lines suggest, the latter a Kilmore trial winner during the week, and they have each way claims. RATINGS: 11 / 4, 5, 7 / 2, 3, 8. She looks the one to beat. SMILEY ELLA (6) was racing for the second time and an impressive all the way winner here a fortnight ago when not pushed out late. She’s an improver who looks a likely type. GLENFERRIE INN (8) is a consistent filly who’s been placed in five of six without winning. She went nicely when placed in heat and final of the Tatlow at her two runs back from a break, and from the trailing draw will be sitting just off the pace. ART SHADOW (2) is a speedy filly who followed placings here to OUR SURFER GIRL (5) and to Rocknrolla in a Tatlow heat, with a fourth in the final of that series where she was close up after having every chance. She impressed in a Tabcorp Park trial victory during the week. WESTERN IMPACT (7) went nicely when favourite and a debut second at Maryborough ten days ago and looks best of the others, with MODERN ORO (1), who’s latest two runs haven’t been too flash, having place claims at least. RATINGS: 5 / 6 / 8 / 2 / 4 / 1. SUGGESTED BET: OUR SURFER GIRL (5) to win. M1/C3 - Class of race (one metro win/three career wins). RBD - Random barrier draw. PBD - Prefential barrier draw. She impressed when wining at her first three race starts earlier this season but hadn’t fired in four runs from a spell before finishing well from three back the pegs to beat handy filly Allegra here at the latest meeting. ARMBRO IRIS (1) has won three races this season and looks nicely suited from the pole. Runner up at Terang and Bendigo early last month, she was then luckless at Geelong before running home well from the rear when second to Sam Rae at Cranbourne last weekend. She’ll give plenty of cheek from the pole. JAZZEE VALENTINE (9) ran a close second to Galveron in fast time here before a solid fourth after working hard at Maryborough, then was favourite but disappointed when only fifth in what was a stronger race than this at Cranbourne last week. She’ll appreciate the drop in class. ARMBROOSKY (4) is a speedy mare who pulled too hard and dropped out at Stawell last time but went nicely in prior runs to win at Horsham and run third in a strong race at Maryborough. She charges the gate and may soon be in front. ALBERTS ROSE (5) is honest and has each way claims along with BIDDYS STAR (7), who hasn’t reproduced her good form of a couple of seasons back but looks nicely graded on her bestability. 5 Ballarat Office National 1 20685 TOTALLY ORO 2 77s00 VILLAGE GLOW 3 19358 PRINCESS DILINGER 4 87307 JASPER JO 5 21221 SHARDONS ROCKET NZ 6 62652 NO ENCORE 7 37s78 THE BIG SHOT Second Line 8 62422 ALBERT JACCKA 9 3s131 BARACHIAS NZ 10 35235 DARK SHADOW NZ 11 3s156 TOBERMORAY NZ 2200m. $6000. He was wide in the last lap when a gallant second to Mister Clancy in a fast 1:56.7 for the mile at Geelong, then sat three wide when narrowly beaten by Make Waves in a slowly run Moonee Valley mile affair last time. The drop in grade gives him a great chance of a breakthrough victory. BARACHIAS (9) has produced some good efforts recently. He sat in the breeze and rated 1:58.4 to win over this trip at Shepparton three starts back, then did plenty when third to Tear It All Away in a Moonee Valley MO affair before winning at that level there last week where he made two moves and fought on strongly to hold off a late challenge from NO ENCORE (6). NO ENCORE (6) is close to a win. He hasn’t scored since winning at Globe Derby eleven months ago but his effort to run second beaten a nose by BARACHIAS (9) last week at the Valley was promising and he’s much better suited over this longer trip. SHARDONS ROCKET (5) has been a model of consistency in recent times – he’s won 9 of his last 17 starts and only missed a place once in that time. He comes off an all the way Nyah victory but this time with gate speed inside him, there’s no certainty he’ll lead. Each way chances to TOTALLY ORO (1), who does best when in front although she disappointed when weakening at the Valley last time; PRINCESS DILINGER (3), who’s not far off a win; and TOBERMORAY (11), a first up Maryborough winner six weeks ago who has drawn awkwardly in both runs since,. RATINGS: 8 / 9 / 6 / 5 / 1, 3, 11. SUGGESTED BET: ALBERT JACCKA (8) to win. BILL HUTCHISON LA MORAY ? An ex- Kiwi who won two of six in his homeland, he galloped out from the stand at his first Australian run before eventually finding the lead and scoring a soft win at Geelong eight days ago. He looks a good acquisition to the strong Geoff Webster stable. His danger is POWERFUL TYCOON (9), who although having won only one of 19 this season, is racing in career best form. A Terang winner five starts back, he’s been runner up in three of four since and did a power of work to find the breeze when narrowly beaten over the sprint trip at Maryborough a fortnight ago. POLONIS (4) is a handy former Sunraysia performer who’s won five races and has recently come south to join the Caldow stable. He was held up and not far away at Geelong at his first local start eight days ago, and looks nicely graded at this level. CECINIRAMA (5) led when NARRA SANDS (7) sat outside him and beat him by a nose at Stawell last time and they have each way claims once more. FREMARKSRUFUS (1) was well supported but weakened after a tough trip at Geelong last time, but is going better than his form-line suggests and he may show up from the pole. He put in an eye catching run when finding early trouble at the Valley last weekend and flashing home from the rear for a five metre second to La Biscuit, and with a clean beginning on this bigger track, looks the one. FALSE GEM (6) hasn’t won for more than a year but has done well in recent runs. She came from the rear when second to JOE BRO (11) at the Valley, then has finished just behind the placegetters from back marks there at her latest two starts. She’s a tough and honest mare who’s deserved of a victory. JOE BRO (11) made it four in a row when scoring back-to-back wins at the Valley last month, then disappointed slightly from his back mark when fourth at Geelong last time. A speedy beginner, he’ll be up amongst them in the early stages and rates well. BELEVA (4) won a similar race to this at the Valley in April and comes off a fast finishing second there to Skyvalley and a battling sixth from a handicap mark there last week. He’ll appreciate the front line draw and has claims. Chances also to last start Moonee Valley placegetter SUNSET TRUSCOTT (1), who’s on the improve; LENNY LEWIS (5); RIGHT INTEREST (7), who ran third at the Valley last time in an improved effort; SPEEDY NAOMI (8), who was luckless in that same race; ERINGA BELLE (10), who hasn’t had much go her way in recent times and is well up to these on her night; and EARL OF MOT (13), who hasn’t won this season and is resuming RATINGS: 3 / 6 / 11 / 4 / 1, 5, 7, 8, 10 / 13. A talented three year old who’s won three races this season, he was resuming from an awkward second line draw over the sprint trip at Maryborough a fortnight ago when flashing home from last and just failing to pick up stablemate Pjaysparty, who was much more aggressively driven in the closing stages. He’ll settle a lot closer this time from the good alley and meets beatable opposition. ALLWEVNEED (6) is an improving youngster who came from the rear to win at Stawell three starts back then weakened after a tough trip in a Super Sires heat at Bendigo before repeating his Stawell effort in impressive fashion nine days ago. CHRISTIAN SHADOW (3) is a speedy colt who’s won twice this season and comes off placings at Geelong and here, and a Tabcorp Park trial victory during the week. He has the speed to cross these and lead and should give a bold sight. SAPPHIRE ISLAND (1) is a dual winner who hasn’t been disgraced in three runs from a spell and will be an improver this time from the good alley. Best of the others is TAB ONE (5), who looked in need of the run when a battling first up third at Cranbourne last week. RATINGS: 2 / 6 / 3 / 1, 5.
