Herald Sun Form Guide : June 18th 2009
50 Herald Sun, Thursday, June 18, 2009 + Yarra Valley Sprint Lane: Yes Daily Double: 5, 7 Quaddie: 4, 5, 6, 7. TAB CODE P H TOUCHTONE 26 1 Balgownie Estate 12.20 2150m. $5000. C0 Only PBD Mobile Hutchy says: HOLDMEHAT (7) is a talented filly who’s a dual winner this season and looks nicely graded in CO company. A Maryborough winner in March, she was then unlucky not to win a strong race at Geelong when a close second to Kissmekatie before failing dismally as an odds-on favourite there at her next start. Resuming from a break of five weeks, she led when cut down late by Markleigh Princess at Maryborough, then last week galloped after the start before making a lot of ground for sixth in a Bendigo sprint affair. BEE AND JAY (6) is a handy colt who’s also won two races this season, the latter of those at his most recent start at Geelong in early February. He’s trialled well for his return and will be hard to beat. BOOZY ROUGE (3) is a handy four year old who’s won three races and resumes off a Warragul trial win over Gordons Ville, who won on that circuit last week. He has claims along with handy mare SCENTED (5), who was up to top three year old company last season but hasn’t won in nine tries this season, running five placings. SELECTIONS: HOLDMEHAT (7), Bee And Jay (6), Boozy Rouge (3), Scented (5). RATINGS: 7 / 6? / 3? / 5 / 4. SUGGESTED BET: HOLDMEHAT (7) to win. 6 3561s BEE AND JAY 7 12626 HOLDMEHAT Matthew Murphy (C) Fr ?1.80 Brad Stevens Fr 51.00 Gary Hoban Fr 51.00 Jodi Quinlan Fr 6.00 Kate Gath Fr 17.00 Colin Duncan Fr 8.00 Daryl Douglas Fr 2.70 2 Vicbred 2YO Filly 12.55 2150m. $10000. 2yo 2A Fillies RBD Mobile Heat 1 Hutchy says: LOVING LIFE LOMBO (3) had shown promise before her longshot win in the Tatlow at the Valley three weeks ago where she flashed home from three back the pegs to beat the handy Rocknrolla. She’s getting better with racing and looks the clear top pick. SPIN TO WIN (2) was a Kilmore winner in February and placed there in April before a Bendigo failure. At her first run for six weeks, she was well in the betting but never a factor from her second line draw to LED SUITCASE (4) at Maryborough at fortnight ago. Expect big improvement from this good alley. LED SUITCASE (4) flashed home off a slow pace when out-sprinting them at Maryborough then was never a factor when sitting at the rear in a stronger race than this at Cobram last week. She’s another who’ll appreciate getting off the front line. CEE CEE SHEFFIELD (7) won a heat of the Bathurst Gold Tiara back in March then finished down the track in the final before fourths to Morgan Abby in Heat and Semi-final of the APG. She resumes here from a wide draw. SHANGHI (1) is a Shepparton winner from three runs so far and has claims from the pole at her first run for five weeks. The first starter is GORGEOUS AN DIVINE (5) (Pacific Fella – Boast), a John F Ryan trained filly who was an easy recent Kilmore trial winner. SELECTIONS: LOVING LIFE LOMBO (3), Led Suitcase (4), Spin To Win (2), Cee Cee Sheffield (7). RATINGS: 3 / 2, 4 / 1, 7? / 5? She led and won by 18 metres over the sprint trip at Shepparton, then was a clear winner in the final, and certainly looks the one to beat here. LOOPY LULU (3), a Cobram winner last month, was luckless in two runs before not having much go his way when held up and a close fourth to More Sassie Lombo at Cobram last week. She’ll be sitting just off the pace and represents a clear and present danger to this favourite. NITROUS OXIDE (8) is a six time winner who last scored at Bulli three years ago. He was noticed making late ground after finding early trouble when mid-field at Bendigo last week, and from the draw could be trailing this favourite and using the sprint lane. GOJAGGO (2) and TASSIE GANGSTER (4) have place chances at least. SELECTIONS: AMAROOKA JAZZ (1), Loopy Lulu (3), Nitrous Oxide (8), Tassie Gangster (4). RATINGS: 1 / 3 / 8 / 2, 4 place only. He hasn’t won for a year but has shown gradual improvement of late and fought on well when wide from last in the final circuit and an excellent second in fast time at Geelong a fortnight ago. RICH PICKINGS (4) fought on well after making a strong mid-race move for second to Brutus Smith when resuming at Warragul three weeks ago, then broke and was pulled up at Cranbourne last time. Rate him highly. CARD PLAYER (8) is a lightly raced gelding who’s been placed twice at Kilmore from three starts so far and should get a soft trip from this trailing draw. PRINCE ZET (7) showed good ability earlier this season but didn’t do much when unplaced at Cobram last week. He’s as good as these when on his game. He and TOGETHER WE DO (7) look the two main winning chances. TOGETHER WE DO (7) has won five of eleven this season and made good late ground off a wide last lap when fourth at Bendigo last week. JOHNORAMA (4) has done well in two runs for Greg sugars – he was runner up at Ballarat then came from well back to win nicely at Geelong last Sunday. TIPPEDINTOOMUCH (1) is a consistent performer who came from well back for a close fifth at Cobram last week and looks nicely suited from the pole. SELECTIONS: YOURE THE CAPTAIN (5), Together We Do (7), Johnorama (4), Tippedintoomuch (1). RATINGS: 5 / 7 / 1, 4 / 3, 8 / 6, 11. T0 Or Better Trotters RBD Stand + Hutchy says: UNCLE KRACKER (8) is a dual winner this season, the latest of those victories at Cranbourne back in March. A consistent four year old, he disappointed last time at Geelong when weakening after sitting in the breeze, but has had six weeks off and was an easy Tabcorp Park trial winner last week where he finished off in 58.1. FLIGHTTONULLY (1) was presented to lead by stablemate PACE AVILLE (2) when a soft Warragul winner last week and she’s racing in good form – that was her fourth win for the season. From the pole, she looks nicely suited. DEE EM DIVA (7) was having his first run for Wayne Potter when wide to the breeze and beating FLIGHTTONULLY (1) at Geelong a month ago, then drew awkwardly and was luckless when a fast closing fourth to Dreams Of Heaven at Bendigo last week where they finished off in 57.6. She’s racing into some good form but drawn awkwardly. GOLDEN GRINDER (4) trailed wide in the last lap when second in fast time to Chrisp at Cranbourne before making late ground from mid-field when a close fourth to FLIGHTTONULLY (1) at Warragul last week. A three time winner this season, he’s holding his form well and gets his best draw for some time. SELECTIONS: UNCLE KRACKER (8), Flighttonully (1), Dee Em Diva (7), Golden Grinder (4). ABOY NAMED CHERYL (1) mended his manners to sit in the breeze and outstay Lover Or Loser from the mobile at Geelong last Sunday and has excellent prospects if he leaves the mark. HEZA HERO (6) has raced consistently without winning this season – there was a lot to like about his third in a much stronger race at Maryborough two starts back before he made a mistake there last time. Resuming at Bendigo last week he found the lead from this alley, then threw a 58.1 last half at his rivals and was never threatened. IMPRESSIVEPRINCESS (1) has been close up in three runs since leading all the way in a Moonee Valley day affair five weeks ago. She has a chance of leading but if not, will be sitting behind this favourite and is sure to represent some sort of danger. ALLEGRA (8) is a talented filly who’s won three races this season, the latest of those victories at Geelong three weeks ago where she had the run of the race. She led until the shadows of the post when out-sprinted Landsita at Ballarat at her latest run. WHEELERS HILL (7) was having his first start for injured reinsman Greg Sugars when driven by father Ross and leading until the closing stages at Geelong a fortnight ago. An ex-Kiwi, he’s been placed in both runs since coming here and has a chance of reversing his heat defeat by ROWAN DIRECT (10) at Terang where ROWAN DIRECT (10) led but goes to the second line this time. They look the top two picks. MICKIE DILINGER (11) is a tough four year old who won at Echuca before working hard when fourth to Coastal at Terang and he’s in this to his ear tips. GODINE DILIGENT (4) was returning from a break when a solid second to Coastal and looks next best. SELECTIONS: BIGBANG NITRO (1), Rowan Direct (10), Mickie Dilinger (11), Godine Diligent (4). OUR FALCONS A TACT (5) hasn’t started since an all the way Shepparton victory in March but impressed in a standing start trial victory at Tabcorp Park last week. SLIPPINALONG (7) has strong claims on his tough last start breakthrough victory here where he worked hard to the breeze. COOLUM KID (2), who’s the likely leader here, ran third to SLIPPINALONG (7) in that race and looks the other main winning chance.
