A lightly raced gelding, he sat back in the field then came with a barnstorming finish in the final stages to score impressively by an ever increasing 16 metres. STING LIKE A BULL (4) sat in the one-one and battled on best to win another heat when having his first run for four months. He’ll be much improved by that outing and has a distinct barrier advantage over his main rival. FIREINTHESKY (5) worked hard to the breeze when cut down late by STING LIKE A BULL (4) in that heat in what was a much improved effort, and he’ll be hard to hold out. MYRNIONG ART (2) was held up at a vital stage before running home okay for third in that heat, draws perfectly this time and will be improved by recent racing. The other heat was won by a sprint-laning PENNIES TO PEARLS (8), who just grabbed EAST EMPRESS (6) on the line. PENNIES TO PEARLS (8) has since run a handy third during the week. They, along with CAM LODGE (7) and PRETTY IN LACE (12), look the other winning chances. Ratings: 4, 10 / 5 / 2 / 8 / 6, 7, 12. Suggested bet: Flexi trifecta 4 and 10 to win, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 for second with the field for third. $25.00 gets you 20% 2 Sew-Eurodrive Vicbred 1 118 CONFUSED SUPERSTAR 2 3 TSONGA 8 TRAPPERS PUZZLE 4 1111 MISTER CASTLETON 5 1324 IM CHILLED 6 7 WEARY POCKETS 80 MARCHI Second Line 8 9 62 ROSTEVARREN 7 BILL PEPPERELL 10 13603 BACKAS COBBER 11 38578 ENJOY A MALABU 7.00 2100m. $10000. 2yo Trotters RBD Mobile Heat K L Tippet Lance Justice G R Norman Greg Norman G J Bailey Lee Butcher J B Tormey Ellen Tormey(C) P M Abrahams Scott Dyer R A Graham Ross Graham D J Woolcock Daryl Woolcock A Wood Nigel Milne(C) C W Van Ryn Scratched Fr 5.50 Fr 21.00 Fr 41.00 Fr ?1.40 Fr 21.00 P G Manning Kerryn Manning Fr 17.00 A J Wilson Doc Wilson Fr 51.00 Fr 11.00 Fr 67.00 Fr 9.00 Fr — Hutchy says: Exciting youngster MISTER CASTLETON (4) took his record to four wins from as many starts when he cleared out to win a Tatlow by a big space at the Valley a fortnight ago, that following a 48 metre win in his heat. He should charge to the lead here and they probably won’t see which way he went. CONFUSED SUPERSTAR (1) led to win in slow time on debut at Kilmore, then repeated the dose in a Tatlow heat on that same circuit before galloping early in the final when tailed off. He draws to be this favourites main danger, if any. BACKAS COBBER (10) is a handy gelding who’s won two races this season and sat in the breeze from his 20 metre handicap when third in MISTER CASTLETON’s (4) debut win at a Valley day meeting early last month. He made mistakes at his next two starts, then ran a bold third after getting well back early at Bendigo at his latest run. ROSTEVARREN (8) trialled well before making a mistake on debut at Bendigo, then ran home nicely when second to the talented Louey Louey Louey in a Tabcorp Park non-Tab event last Saturday. The first starters are TSONGA (2) (Sierra Kosmos – Panbrake), a Greg Norman trained gelding who’s related to Dougie, 16 wins, and has trialled okay; and WEARY POCKETS (6) (Sundon – Lady Slick), a Peter Manning trained gelding who hasn’t really flattered at the trials. She looks the clear top pick here. LOUEY LOUEY LOUEY (8) is a talented son of former top mare La Coocaracha and with three wins from his five starts to date looks to have inherited some of his mother’s ability. He was quickly in front off a 10 metre handicap when scoring in a Tabcorp Park non-Tab affair last weekend and lines up here for his first try from behind the mobile gate. SOUTHPORT CEE (10) is a talented but wayward gelding who began badly before eventually tacking on at the bell and flying around them in the last circuit to hit the front when narrowly beaten by AMIRI (5) in a Tatlow heat at Kilmore, then galloped early in the final and finished well back. He’ll give these a fright if he puts it all together. BREVILLIAN (4) is an honest gelding who sat in the breeze when narrowly beaten by Confused Superstar at Kilmore three starts back before not really firing in Tatlow heat and final. He may be the leader here, and comes off a Bendigo trial win last weekend. The other winning chance belongs to RONNIES WAGON (9), a Geelong standing start winner two starts back who missed away last time and will appreciate his first try at mobile racing. The first starter is MILITARY PRECISION (6) (Cr Commando – Our Cullenize), a Jaime Madruga trained colt who recently won a slow trial here. Ratings: 5 / 8, 10 / 4, 9 / 6? He’s won 11 of his 20 runs so far and had his winning streak of five on end ended when a close second to Smoken Up in FFA company here back in April. He followed up with a death seat second to Our Malabar in a Mildura Cup heat, then was held up in the final before flashing home late when just failing to overhaul Bold Cruiser. A recent Tabcorp Park trial third to Melpark Major should have him fit enough for this engagement. VILLAGE GLOW (9) hadn’t done much in three runs from a spell but was an improver when a close fourth to Dreaming Fella in a fast mile affair at the Valley last weekend, and she has a strong each way chance. FIRE IT UP (7) is a Glenn Douglas trained ex-Kiwi who’s only been placed once in five starts since coming here. At his first run for seven months, he worked hard mid-race and wasn’t far away when unplaced at Ballarat nine days ago. WALBERON (8) is a much raced gelding who’s won 16 of his 97 starts. He pulled too hard in the breeze when resuming and dropping out to run last at the Valley three weeks ago, but that was unusual and if he settles, should be running home strongly after a soft trip on the pegs. CONTE CENTOVALLI (3) will be improved by a weakening first up last to Dreaming Fella at the Valley last week. Ratings: 6 / 9 / 7, 8 / 3. Ex-Kiwi SHADON (4) was an unlucky second at Kilmore a fortnight ago when making his Australian debut, then worked to the lead in a heat of this race at Ararat last Sunday and wasn’t pushed out to win convincingly. He’ll be a lot fitter for those two runs from a spell. TENDER DON (9) is a speedy young gelding who spoils his chances by overracing at times. He led when an easy Cranbourne winner and was again in front when cut down late there two starts back before weakening in the closing stages when leading off this mark and fourth in the Horsham heat twelve days ago. He may do better if driven with cover – he has a brilliant sprint when it is unleashed. PUERTO BONUS (8) has each way claims - she came from miles back when second to SHADON (4) in her heat at Ararat last weekend. JOULE COUNT (6) was a big improver when flashing home late to win the Horsham heat and she looks to be peaking at the right time. PRETTYLILANGELEYES (13) and KELLYS NIPPA (11) both came from well back and fought on well when placed in that race and have claims here along with WONT BE THE SAME (7), who disappointed at Horsham but will be improved by that, his first run in a month. IS SHE NOBLE (5) battled on well for third after a rough trip at Ararat to SHADON (4), and looks the other winning chance. Ratings: 4 / 8, 9 / 6, 11, 13 / 5, 7. She went nicely in semi final and final of the Super Sires 3YO at the Valley when third and fourth respectively, then sat mid- field and led on the home turn when grabbed late by Ay Tee Em in the “Princess Of The Wimmera” at Horsham a fortnight ago. NORTHERN GEM (6) was wide in the last lap and fought on well to beat all but subsequent Moonee Valley winner Tsunami Lombo here last time, and looks some sort of danger to this favourite. FROM DAY ONE (8) is a talented three year old who won his third race for the season when leading all the way to beat moderates at Bendigo three weeks ago, but led and only plodded when a hot favourite at Yarra Valley last week. He’ll be fitter for those two runs and will get a soft trip from this trailing draw. No other winning chances, but all other runners have some chance of filling third slot for trifecta takers. JACCKA SANDY (6) has been trained to the minute for his series. A handy NSW performer earlier this season, he was badly held up before flashing home late for a first up third in his heat at Terang, then made a mid-race move to the breeze before taking the one-one when too strong for COASTAL (12) in a semi final of this race at Ballarat last week. COASTAL (12) is a talented three year old who’s won seven races this season. He led all the way to win here three starts back, then ran fast time in front to win his heat of this series at Terang before coming wide in the last lap when beaten a neck in his semi final where he dragged a flat tyre. This track does suit off pace runners, so the draw won’t be too much of a hindrance. OUR MADAGASCAR (5) used the sprint lane to win a Terang heat, then was a luckless fourth to JACCKA SANDY (6) at Ballarat last week. The Douglas stable have a good record in this sort of race and this fellow looks to be at his peak. BIGBANG NITRO (8) disappointed slightly at his first two runs from new Zealand but was a big improver to win the other semi final at Ballarat nine days ago, where he led and slowed them up before finishing off in 56.3. He’ll need a little luck from this trailing draw. Each way chances to GEORGE STREET LAD (4), who finished well when second to BIGBANG NITRO (8) at Ballarat and will be improved by two runs from a spell; tough mare LADY LUNCHALOT (9), who’s won 8 of 15 and will be hoping for a strong pace up front; MY GOLD ART (10), an ex-Kiwi who hasn’t been far away in both Aussie starts and gets Jodi Quinlan this time; and ROWAN DIRECT (11), who beat BIGBANG NITRO (8) in his heat of this race at Terang before having no luck when mid-field behind that fellow at Ballarat last time. WOULDNT IT BE NICE (6) won twice in the Riverina earlier this season before coming to Andy Gath, for whom she ran second at Cranbourne and Kilmore before a luckless Terang fifth, but it was her latest run that took the eye where she was held up and flew late for an unlucky third at Ballarat to handy performers Four Wise Men and Goodtime Jasper. LORNABELLE (7) won her second race for the term when coming from well back to score impressively on the tight Ararat circuit six weeks ago, then finished just behind the placegetters in strong races at Geelong, and at Ballarat to Four Wise Men. ORPHAMOYNE (9) is an improver who hadn’t been placed in five starts before an Echuca second back in March, and a solid second at her first run for Ashleigh Herbertson when fighting on well here a fortnight ago. ALL EXCLUSIVE (8) has been placed recently at Warragul, and at the non-tab meeting at Tabcorp Park last weekend, and has each way claims along with CHEQUERS GIRL (5), who did a good job to run second after being hammered in the lead at Ararat last week, when having her second start.
