He’s only raced eight times and ran a nice second from the back row at Kilmore back in May at his last mobile try. Bad beginnings cost him in stands after that, and he resumes from a short break into a winnable race. SUNSHOT (2) is an honest filly who battled on okay when third from the mobile at Kilmore three weeks ago before disappointing when weakening from the breeze at Maryborough. She has gate speed and may find the lead. SUPER PETITE (4) has ability but is yet to convert it into winning form. She’s been raced sparingly this year for a couple of good placings in strong fields back in January, and the opposition here isn’t strong. KIRSLY KEPT (9) is an honest filly with each way claims. SELECTIONS: BERCEUSE (10), Sunshot (2), Super Petite (4), Kirsly Kept (9). RATINGS: 10 / 2, 4 / 8? 9 / 1, 7. SUGGESTED BET: Straight out or Each way BERCEUSE (10). He was a trifle fresh for that run and will be fitter this time. LOVABLE LARRIKIN (6) finished well from mid-field when a debut third at Cranbourne last week and is a Wayne Potter trained youngster with talent. He’ll be improved and this isn’t a hard race. THIS WAY UP (7) trailed the leader when scoring at Kilmore a month ago but didn’t do much in a stronger race than this on that circuit a fortnight ago. He looks better suited here. Best of the others is MODERN SAINT (4), who hasn’t been far away in three runs since a handy debut third at Cranbourne six weeks ago. The first starter is JONARK MAY (1) (Armbro Operative - Safely Embrace), a Mark Watson trained gelding who’s dam won five races – this fellow has been placed in a couple of recent trials. SELECTIONS: WEEKEND RUSTLER (3), Lovable Larrikin (6), This Way Up (7), Modern Saint (4). RATINGS: 3 / 6 / 4, 7 / 1? 8. MY MATE CLAUDY (8) was a tough Cranbourne mobile winner a month ago when resuming, then worked hard in the breeze when beating all but top youngster Down Under Muscles at Shepparton last week. He looks nicely suited. OUR AYTHREEEIGHTY (6) beat subsequent SA Derby winner Aftanoondelite at Maryborough back in March and had consistent form in top company after that. He resumes from an eight week break off an easy Kilmore trial victory. MALS IMAGE (2) sat in the breeze when second to MISTER MALAKYE (7) at Ararat, then ran quickly in the lead when a solid second at Horsham last Monday. He’s the likely leader and will be hard to run down. Every runner bar (10) rates as a winning chance. SELECTIONS:MY MATE CLAUDY (8), Our Aythreeeighty (6), Mals Image (2), Mister Malakye (7). He’ll be much better for the experience and although unlikely to reach the heights of his outstanding siblings La Speranza and It Is I, is a potential metropolitan performer who will have far too much class for this field. ONLY MCCOOL (12) came south from NSW for Shepparton and Kilmore wins sandwiched around a mistake at Echuca before finishing down the track in strong 4YO company at the Valley a fortnight ago where she led and weakened. Except for the favourite, this looks a much easier race. MASTER OPERATIVE (5) finished well for placings at Kilmore and Cobram before a luckless unplaced Shepparton effort at his latest run and he looks the only other winning chance. SELECTIONS: STRIDENT (7), Only Mccool (12), Master Operative (5), Mister Miriam (9). RATINGS: 7 / 5, 12 / 1, 2, 9 place only. She seems to be back to her best. JAZZEE VALENTINE (11) is an honest mare who won three races on end earlier this season and hasn’t been disgraced in five runs back from a break. She goes well from the stand and looks nicely graded. MARCHING HOME (5) is an ex-Kiwi who was a Cobram winner from three runs back in December when first coming here. He’s been placed in two of five standing start tries and resumes off a fast back mark Shepparton standing start trial success. PEPPERELL BEIJING (1) hasn’t finished further back than second in his last eight stands, winning three of them, and looks the likely leader, but against him is that he hasn’t started since December. T2 Or Better Trotters RBD Stand Hutchy says: CILLAS EARL (11) overcame the 20 metre back mark to impressively beat Gluteus Maximus here three weeks ago at his latest start. He hasn’t missed a place in four runs this time in and is a prospective Moonee Valley winner. SUN OF IRIS (12) was a tough Moonee Valley Saturday night winner over Billy Royle in April, then raced wide when a close second to Dream A Moment in a Trotters Cup at Echuca. He was spelled after failures on the tight Mildura circuit and in strong FFA company at Menangle, and has his first run for more than two months off an impressive third to Will Trapper in a Bendigo trial. HILTON GEMMA (2) is racing in career best form. She went back-to-back at Cranbourne and Geelong before solid efforts from the breeze at Ballarat when second, and a luckless fourth here to CILLAS EARL (11), then set a sizzling track record pace when cut down late into third place in a blistering 2:01 from the stand by King Kipper here a fortnight ago. She looks the leader and will set the co-back markers a task. Each way chances to HEZA HERO (4), LELIS BOY (9) and ENOTHEQUE (10). VINTAGE JAG (2) is in terrific form with recent wins at Shepparton and Cobram, and two placings as well, from his latest four starts. He draws to be in the finish. The other main winning chance belongs to ex-Tasmanian ALBY ALBERT (9), who ran a mighty race for second in a heat of the Vicbred Championship at the Valley three weeks ago before covering a lot of ground in the final circuit when mid-field in the final. A speedy beginner, he’ll be in the leading group throughout and looks hardest to beat. BUILTLIKEABRICK (10) followed a Kilmore victory over the talented Shadon with a death seat third here to MACUENROAD (8) and is racing in the best form of his career. SUN SAMURAI (13) found his handicap just a little bit beyond him last time but meets the winner on ten metres better terms for a four metre defeat. QUESTION THIS (12) disappointed when fourth in a stronger race than this at Kilmore last time but is a handy young gelding who looks nicely graded on his best form. He did it tough when scoring at Echuca three starts back, then flashed home from last on the corner when second to Scooting Armbro at Cobram before having no luck in a strong Moonee Valley Friday night affair 3YO a fortnight ago. It should be a good battle between he and talented filly TINA ANTOINETTE (10), who made it three wins from only six starts, and two from two since resuming, when working to the lead from her second line draw here last week. YELLOW ROSES (4) battled on nicely off a wide last lap when fifth here at her latest run and has each way claims along with handy mare SCENTED (8), who’ll be improved by one run from a spell; and PRECIOUS LORD (9), who was placed behind Scooting Armbro at Cobram before a solid fourth here last time. CROCODILE TEARS (1) was resuming when battling on nicely for a distant third to star filly Lady Belladonna at Charlton last week, will be improved, draws nicely and strikes beatable opposition. He found trouble and lost his driver in a race at Cobram three weeks ago and hasn’t been seen since, but from the pole and over this sprint journey, is sure to be in the finish. THE GOLDEN LORD (8) is a 14 start maiden who ran his fifth placing here last week when third to the smart On Any Day. From this draw he’ll get a soft trip and that’s the way he races best. Each way chances to COUNTRY GUN (2), who ran second to On Any Day here before missing away in a stand at Bendigo last time, along with first starter SINNERMAN (12) (D M Dilinger – Roman Scandal), a David Aiken trained 4YO gelding who’s related to some good winners and has gone okay at the trials. SELECTIONS: THE WAY HOLME (6), Healpeak (1), The Golden Lord (8), Country Gun (2). RATINGS: 6 / 1 / 2, 8 / 12? / 3, 4, 10, 11 / 9. He won five races on end earlier this season but hasn’t started since seconds at Terang, and at Geelong to Sammy Maguire in January, and a disappointing unplaced effort at Moonee Valley in early February. He’s trialled okay recently. ISLAND STORM (9) is a consistent gelding who won his fifth race for the season at Cobram before having nothing go his way when unplaced here last week. He draws to trail into a handy spot. AUBREY JAMES (3) resumes from a short break and has much more ability than his recent formline suggests. He looks the only other winning chance. 12 88879 MADEMOISELLE GIGI Brent Livingstone (C,cl) Fr ?1.50 Nigel Milne (C) Fr 51.00 Stephen Boyington Fr 7.00 Todd Matthews Fr 26.00 Doc Wilson Fr 34.00 SELECTIONS: CHARISTEAS (11), Island Storm (9), Aubrey James (3), Dreamaway Vouge (2).
