He has the gate speed to again be prominent from the handy draw. Drawn to his inside is STREETEM (1), who has also shown gate speed at times and has been very consistent this season. He did some work on Monday when only beaten a half-head by Slay Em. MASSARUA (4) is another having a good season and last week he burned across from this draw to lead all the wAY. This race looks a little harder but he certainly demands to be included. Stablemate IM GAUCHO (10) is akwardly drawn but always around the place and wasn’t far behind MY FRENCH ATOM last time out. AWESOME ALBA (8) is worth some thought from the inside of the second row, SALDIVAR (7) isn’t hopeless despite the wide gate and BLUECHIP HOLMES (6) can be thrown into the multiples if you are prepared to forgive his plodding effort last start. From the draw he has the gate speed to be handy from the outset. SANDYISMYNAME (2) doesn’t win all that often but his form in the last month has been very consistent and he has to be considered a major chance here. OLLATON (8) is accustomed to these out-of-the-draw starts and rarely runs a bad race. His last two placings have come behind the in-form Village Pop and Rabahero. MCROAMIN (1) struck an excellent patch of form prior to being stood down for bleeding a first time in March. If he’s anywhere near right he’s right in this and he did trial well on Sunday. OHOKA DAKOTA (5) would certainly be a chance on his best form but his last couple of finishes as favourite haven’t exactly inspired. Punters can probably afford to give him another chance. It wouldn’t shock if any of the other runners filled places in what should be a competitive race. He may struggle to find the same spot so easily over the shorter trip, but is a leading player. VIA TRASTEVERE (8) is racing well, but has led at his past three and will need luck from the draw o get into the race. VIRGINIA STORM (4) looks the leader and will likely be close up at the finish, but he struggles to win on a regular basis. DAYENZINAY (6) was a big winner two back and close up to Top Of The Wave last Friday after working hard in the run. He’s an each-way hope off the wide draw. LORD ARRAGON (5) has ordinary form across the border, but should find this easier, while MITCHEALS BAY (7) is building to a win, but might need to wait another week. CRUSADERS CREST (5) rediscovered winning form third- up from a spell and should be further improved here. The draw is a query for what is a step up in class, but he started wider last time out. By comparison the draw won’t be a problem for IVANA TRUMP, who also faces a class rise. She ran a good race from a wide gate behind TOWN PRINCE (8) last week. LA BALLE DE FLAMME (2) is back in the mobile draw after never really seeing daylight behind Village Pop. If he paces and has even luck he shouldn’t be far away. CASHEL BORU (7) is the interesting runner having joined the Andrew Clarke stable. The former Queenslander is first-up since December and has the visitors’ draw but his form before going for a break was quite reasonable. VARIO (11) should be a serious danger. He’s won his past two after working in the run and beat home Beautiful Drive three back when Wide Load claimed them both. They’re the leading two by far.TIKO MOON (9) would be next best on his form before a year-long break, but with only one run under his belt he might need more time. PUAXTACY (3) is a recent winner here and wasn’t disgraced behind McGintysgoat last time. He has each-way claims from the good draw. Go back five starts in January 2008 and he ran Smoken Up to 2.4m here before winning two of his past three. He hasn’t raced for 17 months and is poorly drawn. He’ll need the run but wouldn’t be at all surprised to see his class shine through. PICCOLO WIL WIL (1) has been in great form here in SA and he wanted to get on the steel when he led and faded behind Myrniong Rager last time. He was backing up quickly off a 1:58.0sec win over the shorter journey, but is nicely drawn and gets his chance to atone. DOOLAN JACK (3) is back in SA with Toby Ryan and his form here earlier in the season was excellent. He was a Cobram winner five starts back and this is big drop in class on recent form behind the likes of Village Warrior, Our Malabar and star Smoken Up. MYRNIONG RAGER (7) is a war horse who loves to eyeball the leader and makes his races a true staying test. He battled over the sprint trip two starts back before simply proving too strong for rivals last time in 1:58.6sec. He’s drawn wide but sure to make his presence felt. VILLAGE POP (11) is racing very well for the Hill stable and he steps up to FFA class for the first time tonight. This is a sharp rise in class, but looks for him to flash home if sat up for one crack at them. MYTHICAL BEAST (2) is nicely drawn and his recent form has been very good. He defeated Awesome Alba three starts back and is capable if driven off the speed. He hasn’t won since March but gets his chance from the good draw. SLIP MAHONE (1) has won five of 20 starts but he was disappointing at his local debut when down the track. He draws well and is sure to give this a big shake. HISTORIC DRIVE (8) won his first two races and has been placed at his six subsequent outings. He is down in class on last time at Stawell and he’ll be thereabouts. ORTAROCK (10) has won four of 15 and he tried hard when runner-up behind Cheers Fellas. She’s poorly drawn but will be thereabouts. LOUISIANA MAN (6) is racing well and is always therebaouts. He hasn’t won since last August. SIZE MATTERS (3) has changed hands and shown ability. She has good early speed as a rule and will be hard to beat if she leads. SOUND SYSTEM (3) made a sound return here last Friday running third behind Blackall Lad after getting a late run along the pegs. He looks a major contender from the draw. REPLICATOR(5) is racing consistently, but a place might be best and WHERE AND WHEN(6) shows promise but has disappointed at his past two and is not drawn favourably. WHYIEORDER(1) ran two shockers across the border a few weeks back. She ran a decent race here in May when working hard and might sneak a place from the good draw. Go on his win at Port Pirie four starts ago and then a close-up effort behind McGintys Goat and he has to be a big show here. VALERIAN PASS (3) hasn’t won in 33 tries this season but her recent form in Victoria has been quite okay. She’s a place chance. ACE HIGH MISS (1) takes on the older horses and showed a return to form when third last start. A continuation of that from the pole and she’s right in this. VIRGINIA ART (8) is still looking for his first win but has placed at four of eight, including last time out when second to Blackall Lad. LADY SMALL TIME (2), NOT REQUIRED (4) and TOMMY THE GUN (7) can work their ways into the placings with improved efforts.
