He’s going to have to do some work tonight that will bring him back to the pack. ANITOM(10) won two in a row here before being well down the track at Mildura behind Road To Rainbow. Give him another chance. THREE OCLOCK ROCK (11) is always competitive and looks at the top his game in two runs back from a short let-up. It’s been a while since STREETEM (3) streeted them, but he’s been close up of late - running third to MASSARUA on Monday from a wide draw - and has a least a place claim. He should know his way around at his 240th start. He didn’t run world-beating time at either outing but both wins were solid and he looks to have the class to overcome the draw. PRINCESS FIONA (1) can run a bold race from the pole. At her only start she was sandwiched between two Southern Cross finalists - beaten a short half-head by Barunga Twobob and finishing in front of Paula From Gawler. ISLAND PEARL (6) went back to the tail after drawing wide in her Southern Cross final. She’s a big chance if she can overcome another wide gate here, which she managed to do in her Southern Cross heat win. KORUNYE KID (8) won a Southern Cross consolation last week from this same draw and has claims to repeat if getting a nice run. SELECTIONS: TODAY (9), Princess Fiona (1), Island Pearl (6), Korunye Kid (8) 3 3YO Pace 1 b0532 THEGREEN KNIGHT 7 917s1 DANCING ROCKET Second Line 8 61266 ORTAROCK 9 25781 SAFE OPPORTUNITY 7.52 2230m. $6000. 3yo 3A0 To 3A2 PBD Mobile 2 12585 SHAKAS PROPHECY 3 71831 TOTALLY CLASSY 4 64453 CAPTAIN COURAGE 5 35s02 BANJO PATERSON NZ 6 21s21 COCOLOSAL P A Cavallaro Ft ★3.50 A L Chapman Ft 15.00 D A Smith Ft 6.00 J Finnis (C) Ft 7.00 W J Hill Ft 15.00 M L Harding Ft 4.00 S P Adams Ft 5.50 M G Smith Ft 5.50 D B Hill Ft 11.00 Assessment: THEGREEN KNIGHT (1) was scratched from the Southern Cross final last week. If all is right then he has the perfect draw to go one better than his last start 2nd behind Sound System. The knock on him is that he doesn’t win often but he’s a huge place chance. COCOLOSAL (6) drops back to three-year-old company here and has been very consistent recently. She won easily here on Monday. DANCING ROCKET (7) beat COCOLOSAL at her last start but consistency hasn’t been her forte to date. She was first-up in that win so maybe she has come back a better horse. ORTAROCK (8) rarely runs a bad race and will find this easier than his last two, while SHAKAS PROPHECY (2), TOTALLY CLASSY (3) and CAPTAIN COURAGE (4) all have strong place claims off the front row. TOTALLY CLASSY, in particular, can put himself into the race with his gate speed and it wouldn’t suprise to see him go straight to the front. SAFE OPPORTUNITY (9) is an infrequent winner who mixes form but was a last-start winner in front of CAPTAIN COURAGE. He’s drawn well and sure to go close. WUNLASTCHANCE (3) is racing well and he worked midrace when too good here two starts back before trying hard when 4th behind The End Of The Rainbow last time. MOHUA (5) has been impressive in SA and has won 10 races this season. She was too good for King Frolic last time and looks well placed. OHOKA DAKOTA (6) is drawn wide but he’s another who has had a big season winning 11 races. He wasn’t far away behind Compare Bianca last time and must be respected. LORENZO BROMAC (8) should get a nice run from the draw and he has won 10 races this season and was placed behind Torben last time. SURE IONAFASTONE (10) has won nine races this season and he defeated Clarenden Serene two starts back. OUR ENTRAPMENT (11) is a former Victorian who joins the Joe Carbone stable. He has finished runner-up at three of his past five and is sure to measure up here despite drawing poorly. FLEURIEU (1) is a former NSW pacer now in the hands of Michael Harding. He’s won six of 18 this season and must be kept safe from the draw. Now in the strong Ray Goble trotting team, she has been racing against some classy types and was only beaten 8m behind Gluteus Maximus in 1:59.6 at Maryborough last time. She can tend to do things wrong but has the ability to figure prominently in this. TRAPPER BOB (2) is always around the mark but was slightly disappointing under these conditions last time behind DROP OF GIN (9) as favourite. He’s worth another chance. DROP OF GIN (9) has bounced back to form recently and worked to the front when he won here last time. He’s not as well suited here but shouldn’t be dismissed. ALDEBARANFAVOURITE (10) notched back-to-back wins in June but blotted her copybook when she galloped last time. She’s worth an each-way ticket, while MAIN ARTERY (11) looked good winning here three starts back (last half in 59.8) but made a mistake and was never in it last time. She’s a chance if on her best behaviour. WILLIAMS KEY (8) won easily here four starts ago but hasn’t been quite as sharp since. He’s one for the exotics, while former Victorian SUELAURIAN (4) has dreadful interstate form but could improve. He defeated Lorenzo Bromac four starts back and looks the testing material from the good barrier. He led under similar conditions last time. CULLENS COVER (13) is undefeated since coming to SA and he looked good against weaker class when a soft winner over High And Low last time. ISLAND TIGER (12) put together consecutive wins here in SA and wasn’t far away behind Cullens Cover last time. BLUECHIP HOLMES (7) is racing well and has finished runner-up at his past two. he can run into the multiples. She made her Australian debut when he led throughout at Yarra Valley (last quarter in 28.4) then did plenty of work when too good as an odds-on chance here on Monday. Rate her highly. PREZ (9) rarely runs a bad race and won’t find this any harder than what he’s come up against recently. He worked outside the leader when a 9.5m 4th to Triumphant Reign on Sat and shouldn’t be far away again. SAFE RIDGE (7) hit the line well along the sprint lane when a hd 3rd here on Monday in 1:59.6 after trailing the leader. The draw’s against him in this but he’s racing quite well and should be included in the multiples. It’s hard to get excited about many of the others. TIKO MOON (4) hasn’t won for more than a year but is drawn OK and wasn’t far away when 4th here two starts ago, while PUAXTACY (10) won here four starts ago but will need everything to go his way from this barrier. TIBETAN LILLY (8) looks the one with the most upside with a win and two placings from just five starts. She got up on the sprint lane on Monday and just failed to peg back Sickle Mond in good time. Luke Alcorn will get a few options of where to place her in the run from the draw. BOURBON GIRL(4) hasn’t won for exactly one year and may be ready for another celebration after two recent placings behind Have A Swig and Sinopoli. TARCHEN(5) find it hard to win, but is never far away and NOT REQUIRED(3) is a non-winner, but can grab a place. It gets very sparse after that, but KIWI FELLA(7) can run you a race at odds from the toughest draw.
