GRINS RENDITION (5) finished well but not as fast as the very smart pacer Palais Du Louvre on his debut then struck trouble at his next outing. He is resuming since June but blitzed his rivals in a Kilmore trial on Tuesday and must be respected. PALERMO (7) pushed forward to lead and held off Flight To Mikinos last time. He wasn't overly impressive in that victory but was placed behind Our High Octane in a heat of the Breeders Crown three starts back and should make his presence felt. SUPERSTAR XPRESS (4) ran into a dead-end in the latter stages and should have finished closer at Horsham on Wednesday. He accelerated nicely via the sprint lane to win at Terang prior and is worth an investment. JAKARRA MAGIC (2) raced without cover when fourth in the same race at Horsham on Wednesday and should give a forward showing from his good draw. ROJEN DREAM (10) dead-heated for first at Mildura last time and possesses a good turn of speed. POWERSHIFT (6) and MATAI ZINGA (9) both are worth thought in multiple combinations. He is racing in peak form and will prove hard to beat. HANGINTHERE (11) is facing the tough handicap of 40m but has a good turn of speed and has finished second against harder opposition at her past two attempts. MAGGIE TRUSCOTT (8) began badly, worked into a trailing position mid-race and battled on well behind Carletonhill at Horsham on Wednesday. She was looming up as a winning chance and broke stride on the home turn at Ararat prior and has the ability to figure in the finish here if she delivers a foolproof display. HEART OF A MAORI (5) picked up some ground without troubling the winner at Shepparton last outing and did well after making an early mistake at his previous two attempts. He is better than his form reads and is a possible improver here. This looks to be a suitable assignment and he gets his chance to improve. BOHEMIAN LOMBO (10) struck trouble and lost his chance at Geelong last outing. He is a tough type and is better than his form reads so a forward showing would not surprise. ENJAY SUPERSTAR (1) and LIFES A LOMBO (2) both have been safely held in their limited opportunities to date but are worth a place ticket from their good draw on the front line. CAMDEN PASSAGE (4) (Nuke Of Earl -- Lady Lamberton) is a debutante for trainer Mario Callus, which only battled into third in a Bacchus Marsh trial last week (2.15.2MR). He is perfectly drawn for this assignment and gets his chance to break through for a win. MY GEORGIE GIRL (5) has been placed in four of her past five starts and looks suited to racing over the sprint distance. The former New Zealander KIMIKO THREE (6) was shuffled back to last on the markers from an awkward trailing draw and finished nicely once she gained a clear passage on her Australian debut. This race is no harder and a bold showing is expected. STOPNTHINK (9) showed a glimpse of his best form when he finished nicely for second to Jonty Bromac at Maryborough last outing. He has a trailing draw and should run a forward race against this class. PRINCE HANA (2) possesses early pace and races best at the sprint distance. He should find the lead in the early stages of the event and is worth thought on an each way basis. He strikes a winnable race here and is clearly the horse to beat. VC AND BAR (7) gets into this race nicely with a concession claim and has been competitive against tougher opposition in recent times. His best form is probably from behind the tapes but he does look to be the main danger to LOMBO ROYAL FLUSH (3) here. MAN IN DISGUISE (10) performed below expectations when he led and faded at Terang two starts back but worked back into some form with a handy finishing second to Nakasaki Magoo last time. That effort was his third back from a break so he should be nearing his peak form. JILLIBY HERBIE (5) and JILLIBY PETE (11) both are minor place hopes in the event. He moved up without cover mid-race and tried hard for second to Life Boat last time so he is worth thought here. FRANK CULLEN (6) will appreciate a drop in class for this assignment and scored at Ballarat three starts back so he is worth an investment. The underrated pacer ROMAN WAY (12) finished quickly to win at Ararat on August 20 and will be suited if there is a solid tempo throughout. TAPCRACKER (2) possesses early pace and is the likely leader in the event. He disappointed last time but kicked back to win after being headed at Ballarat prior. He has looked good in his three starts since coming from New Zealand and is likely to find the lead again here. NAKASAKI MAGOO (1) finished solidly from midfield to win at Ballarat last time. She has the speed to lead in the early stages but usually performs best when driven with cover so she is likely to take a trail and use the sprint lane from the pole position. GEORGE STREET LAD (8) made a move at the 1000m and did well to hold off his stable mate V O TWO (3) at Ararat last time. He is likely to end up being three back on the markers here but possesses a powerful finishing burst. She looked just as effective coming from off the pace when she scored prior so she should prove hard to beat again here. BRITANNY ANNA (8) pushed forward to race without cover mid-race and battled on well behind the smart filly Van Celot Robyn at Mildura on Wednesday. She is racing consistently and looks to be one of the main chances here. A Maryborough winner three starts back she was then beaten at Kilmore after leading. Top show. Forget the last start for MASTER OPERATIVE (11) as he raced wide. He was runner up at his prior two starts over the short course and is never far away. Include in chances. AMAROOKA JAZZ (10) broke last start. Her prior two runs were placings from behind the leader at Kilmore and Shepparton. She should be thereabouts. THESTARGLASSCUTTER (8) has an awkward draw but was a better run last start when runner up at Echuca. Include in multiples along with RAIDER ROBIN (7) who used the sprint lane to win at Shepparton three starts back. Place chance to BOHDANS CHANCE (6) who won at Nyah four starts back. She has a great chance to break through. BUNDY BABE (11) won at Shepparton over a similar trip before just being beaten there at her next outing. Forget last start, go close. GHADAS KOALA (4) can do better than her last couple. Don't dismiss lightly. GOORNONG SPIRIT (1) best effort from a spell was a close second at Echuca. She has the perfect draw over the short trip. Trifecta chance along with HONEYROSE (2). CARRA MASAI (10) is a Million To One - Carramar Clare filly making her debut for Ian Ward. She has been placed in two recent trials and a forward showing first up would not surprise. SELECTIONS: BEE LIVELY (3), Bundy Babe (11), Ghadas Koala (4), Carra Masai (10). RATINGS: 3,11/4/10/1,2.
