Nick Quinn JOCKEY CHALLENGE FLEMINGTON: On a very tough day at Flemington the best way to make a profit is to back in-form hoop Luke Nolen to win the Jockey Challenge. He has a full book of rides for the day, including plum rides on Peter Moody's Avenue, Typhoon Tracy and Black Caviar. Matt Stewart ALL UP FLEMINGTON: Tricky day. Tread carefully. Avenue should get us off to a flier at about evens. Go all-up the stablemates Black Caviar and Typhoon Tracy. Reckon Acosta will run top-three in the last. Consider that quartet in a parlay. Adam Hamilton EACH-WAY FLEMINGTON: Shamoline Warrior (R2 No. 8): Forget the first-up run over 1100m. Stretches to 1400m, Flemington will suit and Ollie's aboard again. Sure to run a huge race. THE BANKERS ON VIDEO: TRUSTUS (R4 No. 11) ON POTENTIAL: BLACK CAVIAR (R6 No. 10) SPEED GIFTED (R9 No. 8) ON PRECEDENT: TURFFONTEIN (R8 No. 8) $50 FLEXI QUADDIE FOR 52.08% 10/10, 11, 12/1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14/4, 8, 11, 15 TRACK: Dead 4 PENETROMETER: 4.69 RAIL: True LAST TIME TRUE: July 4 LAST MEETING: Out 7m August 8 RAINFALL: 5.6mm for week IRRIGATION: 14mm for week RADAR: Possible showers 1 THE pre-race betting suggests this race is as good as over for AVENUE (8). The sister to Group 1 winner Virage De Fortune was highly impressive on debut and although returning from leg surgery looks the one to beat. IRISH LIGHTS (10) looks the quinella/exacta horse. She ran on strongly on debut behind Rostova in a Blue Diamond Preview. Consistent AZWA (5), ORBITING BELLE (3) and MY GIRL HELEN (7) can place. ON-PACERS: Noesis, Avenue. SWOOPERS: Orbiting Belle, Azwa, My Girl Helen, Irish Lights. SUGGESTED BET: Exacta 8 from 10.2 DESPITE the steadier of 59kg CARRARA (1) can score again after a soft stakes win at Moonee Valley. He's a brilliant barrier horse and can box-seat from the four draw. There is good depth here including Valley placegetter NICASTRO (7) who gets a 2.5kg weight swing from Carrara. SHAMOLINE WARRIOR (8) will appreciate the 1400m after hitting the line strongly when resuming in the 1100m Vain Stakes. BOMBAY SLING (2) is back from a bold run in front in the Group 1 Golden Rose last week. ALOHA (16) gets 4kg from Carrara for a 1.5len margin on debut in a Seymour maiden. ON-PACERS: Carrara, Bombay Sling. SWOOPERS: Stoneblack, Nicastro, Shamoline Warrior, Aloha. SUGGESTED BET: Carrara each- way. 3 LADY AVACAN (9) was wide and fought on well last time at Caulfield and will relish the rise to 2000m. She has a win and a game second to the classy Miss Maren from her two runs at the trip. LIGHT VISION (1) has a big weight but is getting fitter and will also appreciate more ground. MISS SCARLATTI (6) tracked too wide when she was just beaten in a blanket finish at Caulfield last week. She has a tricky wide draw but can go forward. FORDEE (11) ran on strongly behind Driffield Gold first- up and goes quickly to the 2000m. ON-PACERS: Red Buttons, Cape D'Amore. SWOOPERS: Light Vision, Miss Scarlatti, Lady Avacan, Fordee. SUGGESTED BET: Lady Avacan each-way, quinellas with 1, 6, 11. 4 TRUSTUS (11) has raced throughout the winter but holds his form. He ran on well when he got clear late over 1200m at the Valley and looks ideally placed over his best trip. JUNGLE RULER (3) is a bold front-runner who backs up from a Caulfield win last week. He's better on soft ground but can still be competi- tive. DIAMONDS AT DUSK (8) over- raced in the same race at Caulfield. A change of rider to Dwayne Dunn, good draw and the firmer track can see an improvement. DR DOUTE'S (4) is talented and a good Flemington horse but may need this. ON-PACERS: Jungle Ruler, Mill- bank, All Cheval. SWOOPERS: Dr Doute's, Diamonds At Dusk, Trustus, Wind Shear. SUGGESTED BET: Trustus each- way, quinellas with 3, 8. 5 TOUGH race with a host of chances. SYMPHONY MISS (7) came from last to win the Man- nerism second-up in the autumn beating FLYING RUBY (4) and didn't have a lot of luck when resuming at weight-for-age in Adelaide. ESTEE (9) made her move too early when resuming and run down by BELLEZA VELOZ (13) at Valley. Senior rider on here and provided that run hasn't flattened her she's a great chance. CATS WHISKER (6) resumed with all-the-way Caulfield win and is even better suited at 1400m. ON-PACERS: Cats Whisker, Clan- don. SWOOPERS: Romneya, Flying Ruby, Symphony Miss, Estee, Toot- sie, Belleza Veloz. SUGGESTED BET: Symphony Miss each-way, box quinellas 4, 7, 6, 9, 13. 6 UNBEATEN boom filly BLACK CAVIAR (10) will be the anchor for most quaddie and Big6 pun- ters given the absence of MANHAT- TAN RAIN (1) and ROSTOVA (6). She has run brilliant times, has won down the straight and even though this is the best field she's met, it's hard to go past her.GRAND HARMONY (8) ran good time in his Seymour maiden win and trialled well here on Tuesday. Sydney visitor DELAGO BOLT (2), RAREFIED (4), TOLLESPRIT (7) and CORSAIRE (11) can place. ON-PACERS: Grand Harmony, Black Caviar. SWOOPERS: Delago Bolt, Rarefied, Tollesprit, Corsaire. SUGGESTED BET: Black Caviar straight out. 7 THIS shapes as carbon copy of last week when Mic Mac con- trolled the Memsie throughout. TYPHOON TRACY (12) should get a soft lead here. She chased the pace when resuming in the Liston and was a sitting shot for PREDATORY PRICER (11). Predatory Pricer will need to get off the rails to make his run. HEART OF DREAMS (10) is a Group 1 winner here at the 1600m and will be running on. VIGOR (7) steps up to this level for the first time and needs to run well to maintain his lofty Cups rating. ON-PACERS: Typhoon Tracy, Vigor. SWOOPERS: Zagreb, Hearts Of Dreams, Predatory Pricer. SUGGESTED BET: Typhoon Tracy straight out, quinellas with 10, 11. 8 ALMOST every runner has some claims in this wide open sprint. Value runner could be TURFFONTEIN (8) who ran a close second to Swick at Group 1 level last spring at his only straight track run. He wasn't far away when last in Sydney behind KRONER (4) when resuming after leading early. He's better suited swooping late and has a terrific second-up record. In-form MIDNIGHT MUSTANG (7) is a must for all multiples. Class runner MALDIVIAN (1) has to be respected and CHASM (3) can show up fresh. ON-PACERS: Swift Alliance, Cham- pagne Harmony. SWOOPERS: Maldivian, Chasm, Kroner, Midnight Mustang, Turffon- tein, Raheeb, All American. SUGGESTED BET: Turffontein each-way. 9 FORMER English galloper SPEED GIFTED (8) showed terrific acceleration to win at his only run here in May. If he gets a reasonable pace he should take beating if he's to be a major player this spring. LEICA LARRIKIN (11) and ACOSTA (15) are two of the few runners capable of going forward. Leica Larrikin is lightly raced and will keep improving. HISSING SID (4) can improve. ON-PACERS: Leica Larrikin, Acosta. SWOOPERS: Hissing Sid, Speed Gifted. SUGGESTED BET: Speed Gifted straight out, quinellas with 11, 15. Tom Waterhouse BOOKMAKER PRINCESS QUALITY (Rand R1 No. 3): One of Mum's who bolted in last start. Steps up to a mile which looks as if it will suit and with star jockey Nash Rawiller again taking the ride, she looks a great way for punters to start the day. Mark Kavanagh TRAINER LUCE DEL MARE (Flem R1 No. 9): Very fast filly. Went a bit shin sore while preparing for the Blue Diamond. Two runs back have been good and well-spaced. Deserves her chance at this level. SHAMOLINE WARRIOR (Flem R2 No. 8): He'll certainly appreciate the 1400m better than 1100m last time. Fairly promising horse. Expect him to show up this week. DR DOUTE'S (Flem R4 No. 4): A four-year-old stallion back from 2400m in the autumn, but he's fresh and forward and I think he's got an each-way chance. CATS WHISKER (Flem R5 No. 6): Ah, the Whiskers. This is a very interesting race for her. She's 1.5kg above the minimum because of her last-start win, but she's actually well weighted considering she's been runner-up at Group 1 and Group 2 level. GRAND HARMONY (Flem R6 No. 8): Really impressed in a jumpout during the week. I've always had a huge opinion of this horse. Taking a line through Miraculous Miss (also trained by Kavanagh), Black Caviar beat her by 3¾len so I'm happy to take her on with Grand Harmony. MALDIVIAN (Flem R8 No. 1): He's thrown in at the weights and he's run second at weight-for-age over 1200m behind Let Go Thommo at Moonee Valley. CHAMPAGNE HARMONY (Flem R8 No. 14): She's a Group 2 winner, well-weighted and she deserves her chance in the race. Ready to deliver: Typhoon Tracy is primed for today's Group 2 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington. MIDNIGHT OIL with TIM HABEL HOT JOCKS Craig Newitt is nice odds at $14 in the ''any other jockey'' category in today's TAB Jockey Challenge THE MARKET $1.85 Luke Nolen $4.40 Craig Williams $6.50 Dwayne Dunn $7.50 Damien Oliver $14.00 Any other indiv. jockey $17.00 Steven King $21.00 Blake Shinn
