She went 1.57.5 at Bendigo five runs ago and her efforts since have been meritorious including a dour Charlton victory last start. She has the gate speed to cross these and once in front she'll be hard to run down. WHODYOU WANTMETOBE (5) reeled off some sizzling closing fractions winning at Ballarat last Wednesday night, which indicates she is getting back to her best. FANCY FALCON (6) was responsible for a cracking run finishing second to WHODYOU WANTMETOBE (5) at Ballarat last time and she looks the blow out. They look the main three with strong place prospects to JUSTA JEM LOMBO (1) and TASHA THE BASHA (2). SELECTIONS: MENDELICO (4), Whodyou Wantmetobe (5), Fancy Falcon (6), Justa Jem Lombo (1) RATINGS: 4,5/ 6/ 1,2 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First Four 4,5/ 4.5.6/ 1,2,4,5,6/ 1,2,4,5,6 (Cost $20 which gives, 83.33%) 2 Chris Lang Pace 1.43 1700m. $5000. She has the wide alley today but that won't bother her as she is a real 'flyer' from the mobile and she looks like she should spear across and take up the running. She looks unbeatable first up against these. Her only danger will be THREE CARD BRAG (8). This Mare is going well having been placed her past two and she looks a strong quinella chance. SEVEN DIAMONDS (5) battled on soundly at Charlton last time and she looks the next best. LOADED AMBITION (3) (Fully Loaded -- Lombo Lovelace) is on debut for Tony Bond and she has been trialling Ok of late so she must be included in trifecta's and first four's. All remaining runners have multiple hopes as well. His stand start record in NZ was good being placed six of 10 (two wins) and I'm expecting him to step and be hard to beat today. MALS IMAGE (5) has been placed three of his past five from the mobile but really struggles to get away from the tapes. He has the ability to be a force in this but you will just have to cross your fingers that he gets away safely. MAGGIE TRUSCOTT (8) is highly consistent, has the services of 'gun' strike rate driver Adam Crettenden and she can be dangerous in this with the right run along with the backmarker ALTA SOLEIL (9) who is resuming today but did trial nicely at Bendigo last week. SELECTIONS: GEE INVASION (7), Mals Image (5), Maggie Truscott (8), Alta Soleil (9) RATINGS: 7/ 5/ 8,9/ 3,4,6 SUGGESTED BET: GEE INVASION (7) each way 4 Westvic Racepix 2.51 2200m. $5000. His run at Tabcorp Park three back was super finishing off hard out wide for third to Jaccka Clive in blistering time. He's finished down the track his past two but today's race is much easier plus he gets the chance to race on the pace and 'bully' the leaders, which is how he races best. MUCKINBAR LADY (1) loves this track having won three of four here. She is a sit-sprint Mare and will get her chance from the ideal draw. The ones with the gate speed are LIMIT LESS (3) and BIDDYS STAR (5). They both love to lead and will be rifling off the arm looking to assume the premier position. The one getting a cosy run off the pace will be ONEAGLEWINGS (8). This guy will be hoping for a genuine tempo so he can 'dive bomb' them late. That was his first start for eight months so there will be improvement and he draws perfectly today. OCEAN BOUNTY (9) is in career best form and deserves to break through for a well overdue win. He led and was just pipped at Tabcorp Park last time by Sewinyaface and he has the handy trailing draw this afternoon. There looks to be good speed early in this with last start Stawell winner TAPCRACKER (4), DEVILSLIVEINSIDE (3), ADVANCED CROSSING (5) and the pole marker IKAIKA (1) all expected to be charging forward which will suit my top two selections. SELECTIONS: TELLMESOMETHINGOOD (2), Ocean Bounty (9), Tapcracker (4), Devilsliveinside (3) RATINGS: 2/ 9/ 3,4/ 1,5/ 6,7 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 2,9/ 2,3,4,9/ 1,2,3,4,5,9 (Cost $20 which gives, 83.33%) 6 Eeles Saddlery 4.03 2200m. $5000. She led all the way at Tabcorp Park five back, was plagued by bad barrier draws her next three before leading early and then handing up to the smart Trojan Luck at Maryborough where she just felt the pinch late to run a close up fifth. She'll be holding the lead from the inside alley and may just get away with the prize. MISTER RHYS (7) draws poorly but he does have the gate speed to negate that. This fellow has been highly consistent of late being placed four of his past five (one win). I anticipate him to push forward and race handy. They rate clear of BIG DOUG (8) who is drawn to get the dream trip in behind the leader, MADAZHELL (3) won at bolters odds here two back and with a soft run she may surprise once more. SELECTIONS: SHOW ME AMBER (1), Mister Rhys (7), Big Doug (8), Madazhell (3) RATINGS: 1,7/ 8/ 3/ 4,5,6 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First Four 1,7/ 1,7,8/ 1,3,4,5,6,7,8/ 1,3,4,5,6,7,8 (Cost $20, which gives 25%) 7 Betta Electrical 4.43 2200m. $5000. He is racing in a rich vein of form finishing no further back then third at his past six starts. He was an easy Bendigo winner three back and although I'd prefer him over the sprint distance, if he gets a cheap run in front, which I think will be the case, he's the horse to beat. PARTYWITHTHEDEVIL (1) has drawn to get the run of the race. He is a one paced type who isn't really suited to the sit-sprint caper but he should be hitting the line strongly up this big long straight. HOBBIT COUNTY (10) beat VIAREGGIO (3) two back at Stawell and he will be hoping for some mid race speed to aid his cause. ARE CEE DEE (5) looks the improver. He has only had the one run back for a near last at Tabcorp Park but he has some gate speed and his form when last in work would be good enough for him to test these. SELECTIONS: VIAREGGIO (3), Partywiththedevil (1), Hobbit County (10), Are Cee Dee (5) RATINGS: 3/ 1/ 5.10/ 6,8,11 SUGGESTED BET: VIAREGGIO (3) to win 8 Dahlsens Pace 5.23 1700m. $5000. OUR NIGELL (3) gets the nod courtesy of his good barrier draw. He led and ran a good race for third at Ballarat two back then he was outclassed at Maryborough behind Fantasy Rocks two weeks ago in good time. Today he'll lead unchallenged and will be suited by the sprint distance. DANGER IN DISGUISE (11) did a good job to hold onto second behind the flying Athena Bromac last start at Stawell and despite drawing poorly today he'll find this much easier. ONE BAD DUDE (12) is only a battler but his second two back to Beach Shaker puts him right into a race like this. One of those three should get the cash with a knockout chance to STOPNTHINK (6). Picture: STUART McCORMICK T HE HEAT is on reigning Inter Dominion champion Mr Feelgood. His second defeat in as many runs this season meant the glamour former North American pacer eased from $6 to $10 for his first main target this season, the $NZ1 million New Zealand Cup on November 10. Mr Feelgood, the recently crowned Australian Horse of the Year, was given a lovely trip by driver Anthony Butt in the one-one trail for most of the race, but just battled into fourth spot in yester- day's Hannon Memorial at Oamaru on New Zealand's South Island. The race was won by the emerging Bondy, who led for most of the 2600m trip, but the eye-catcher was the bril- liant Monkey King, who recovered from a tardy stand-start to finish second. Yesterday's race and the speculation Blacks A Fake won't cross the Tasman meant a total revamp to NZ Cup markets. Without leaving his stable, Auckland Reactor firmed from $3.50 into $2.50. Monkey King is $7 second elect with Blacks A Fake out from $6 to $8. Defending NZ Cup winner Changeover eased to $8 after losing some skin in the float trip to Auckland's Alexandra Park and being scratched from last Friday night's Spring Cup. Auckland Reactor opens his Cup campaign in Christchurch on Friday night. Blacks A Fake's trainer- driver Natalie Rasmussen said the $3.3 million-earner was no better than 50-50 of crossing the Tasman. ''It's sounding harder every day and when you look at the prizemoney break- down and convert NZ dollars to Aussie dollars, it's not quite as attractive,'' she said. ''There's still a chance, but it's 50-50 at best.'' Blacks A Fake, who thrashed a weak field for his 50th career at Albion Park last Tuesday, steps back into the big league for Friday night's $75,000 Group 2 Gold Coast Cup. His rivals will include evergreen veteran Be Good Johnny and Lombo Pocket Watch, who was good with- out getting carried away at his first-up run when second to Cant Bluff Me at Harold Park last Friday night. Cant Bluff Me's dominant win also earned him a trip north, but not until the season-opening Barastoc Grand Circuit race, the $200,000 Queensland Championship at the Gold Coast on October 9. Inter Dominion runner-up Karloo Mick has recovered from a minor health setback, but will skip Queensland and prepare for the NZ Cup in New South Wales. The first of his two lead-up runs will be a $3000 non-TAB race at Eugowra, five hours west of Sydney, next Monday. V ICTORIAN FANS will see the state's two best pacers, Smoken Up and Melpark Major, clash twice more before the former heads to Christchurch for the NZ Cup. Smoken Up took a 3-1 advantage over Melpark Major when he led through- out and just staved off the Victoria Cup winner in last Friday night's Preux Chevalier free-for-all at Melton's Tabcorp Park. They will meet again at Tabcorp Park on October 9 as well as the Popular Alm Sprint at Kilmore's Cup meeting on October 25.
