KING GALLEON (4) seemingly had his chance to run down River Red on his Australian debut but he should be sharper for that effort and a better showing is expected. THE DRUNKEN DRUMMER (5) has been extremely impressive in winning all of his three Australian starts. He worked hard to lead and blitzed his rivals last time so he looks hard to beat again, although KING GALLEON (4) boasted better credentials across the Tasman. THE WINDSURFER (12) possesses a good turn of speed and has a consistent record at Harold Park. He faces a tough handicap of 30m but has the ability to run into a place. EARLDOM (2) has been placed in all of his eight starts for the season and is drawn to receive every chance so he is worth a place ticket again this evening. He races best when he is able to lead and he has conditions to suit him here. TIAMOUR (2) and OUR WINSOME HANOVER (1) will be aiming to gain the perfect trail behind BLACK FIGHTER (4) and both are going well enough to figure in the finish if they gain the right luck in running. ANOTHERCHRISTIAN (5) worked home well to defeat Cheri Cullen two starts back then held his ground in the straight behind Runaway Fire last week. He is awkwardly drawn but is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward. BALLBARBOY (7) was resuming since May when he angled in behind the leader Johnny El Gringo and boxed on fairly well for third on October 16. He should be fitter for that run and has built up a good strike rate so he is worth another chance. BEST OF TIMES (6) is resuming since a fourth behind Maffioso in the Chariots Of Fire but won a recent trial at Cessnock in fast time. He led throughout and beat the luckless New Zealander All Tiger in the Paleface Adios Sprint prior so he has the class to test this field. MERRYWOOD PRINCE (8) pushed forward to race on the outside of the leader and battled on strongly for second to Slick Bromac last week. He is meeting some handy pacers here and would be better suited over the longer trip but he will run his usual honest race. TAKIM (3) bounced back to his best form with a strong victory over Stacks Up last week when he moved up on the outside of the leader mid-race. He should be even better from that run and is very tough so he will make his presence felt. BE ARTFUL (10) has been brilliant in winning all of his five starts since coming from New Zealand. Importantly, this race is harder and it will be the first time that he is to commence a race from the second line in this country, but he is too good to dismiss. SLICK BROMAC (7) has been racing in outstanding form with three wins from his past four starts. He "death seated" when he scored over the 2520m at Bathurst then led throughout to win comfortably last week. He is poorly drawn but gets into this race with a concession claim and should run his usual honest race. LAST BLUE JEAN (1) is another staying type in the race and is shooting for three wins in succession. He possesses early pace and should be prominent throughout. TWELVE PACES (1) is a brilliant sprinter, which is likely to end up trailing the leader LOMBO POCKET WATCH (2) and is a strong each way chance. LOMBO POCKET WATCH (2) was driven hard trying to head off Blacks A Fake in the early stages then was shuffled back in the field mid-race so he had little luck in the Queensland Pacing Championship. He is yet to win in three starts this preparation but he gets his chance from his perfect draw on the front line. IRON HUDGE (4) disappointed last outing but he is proven at the top level so he is worth another chance. JOHNNY EL GRINGO (8) is racing in great form but seems to go best when he is able to lead so he is unsuited from the second line draw. She has a very good record and is ideally drawn so she is worth consideration. GAME SAFIN (4) settled at the tail of the field, came very wide into the straight and finished quickly when an eye-catching third last week. She has been out of luck for some time and deserves to break through for a win. CHERI CULLEN (6) worked hard to lead, dashed well clear on the home turn and was gunned down by Miss Laura Jane last week. She has been placed at her past four starts against similar opposition and should be competitive again despite a wide draw on the front line. He draws widely today but with the small field he'll settle close enough to them and he is the one to beat. TAPCRACKER (6) is racing in great heart with a sprint lane victory at Maryborough followed by a gutsy second behind the smart Tellthebanker at Terang. He has had the gun run his past two and will have to work for it today but he is certainly a live chance. They look the main two with each way hopes to FANCY FALCON (3) who possesses a sharp sprint and will get a good run just off the pace from her draw, BRULEA CHARLIE (1) is first up but he has been trialling well and from the pole he can run you a cheeky race while the South Australian visitor STREZLECKI ACE (4) must be given consideration on his win at Globe Derby two runs back. She has only been placed four of 24 but in her last three she was an unlucky third behind Freddy Franco at Tabcorp Park, battled on strongly for third once more behind Hurricane Annie at Maryborough then she came from well back for yet another third placing behind Yul Brunner at Cranbourne last Saturday night. She finally draws an alley and she is clearly the one to beat. JOLAURELLA (7) has stacks of ability but her manners have been letting her down. She broke in the score up and gave them a tidy start at Terang last time but she still managed to finish fourth to runaway winner National Service in reasonable time. If she does everything right she will be in the finish for sure. She got pole axed at Ararat two runs ago then she came from a mile off them to finish a close up fourth behind Windy Dawn at Charlton. She normally is a safe beginner and watch for her to be hammering home once more. WINDY DOLLAR (8) was given every chance by Greg Sugars last time at Ballarat when she trailed the leader and whacked away for third to the smart Melpark Miccole. Today she has the backmark but with the relatively small field and the lack of depth off the front row she will give this a shake. MISS CATHYWATHY (2) will be the value runner and if she can do everything right in the run she can take this out. The blow out will come from either EL PELIGROSO (1) who is fresh up in this and he was a Charlton winner five runs ago while LASTINGIMPRESSIONS (7) has met some quality trotters her past two and will appreciate this class. She grades well against these and looks near unbeatable. MAZARAHTI (1) looms as the main danger as he goes best in front and from the draw that's exactly where he will be today. The last time he led in a race he walked in at Cranbourne. Respect him. CORPORATE POWER BROKER (6) is the only other live chance. He really hit the line nicely first up from a break at Charlton in sizzling sectionals and he will have the 'fitness improvement' factor. The interesting runner is RIGATONI (5). He returns to Kerryn Manning after a reasonably successful stint in NSW. He hasn't raced for seven months and hasn't been produced at the trials so there is a query on him but I'm sure he'll acquit himself well. This looks an easier assignment this afternoon and he should have the gate speed to lead. ACROSS THE BREEZE (1) didn't have the best of luck in the run when he made his debut at Maryborough finishing towards the tail in the race won by Symphonic Jade. He should bet the gun run in behind the leader today and is a value hope. COLOURS OF LOMBO (8) is resuming but he was racing some of the best juveniles around in his freshman season and although awkwardly drawn he must be considered. ASHER (5) has been placed in two recent trials at Maryborough so she looks primed to run a big race first up with rough chances going to LOMBO MCINERNEY (4), I AM TERROR (6) and GOODLOOKINROSIE (10). He parked out and battled on strongly at Warragul two runs ago then he did some early work and never shirked the task finishing runner up behind Yul Brunner at Cranbourne last Saturday night. He'll race handy to them again today and I think he looks a good gamble. NOAHRILEY (8) won at Ararat three runs ago and if he can get some luck from his tricky draw he can be dangerous. FERNLEIGH RAIDER (9) makes his Australian debut for Kerryn Manning. He has been placed two of his three runs but he hasn't raced for nearly 10 months and he was beaten a long way in a trial here earlier this month, which is a bit of a query. A watch on betting is advised with him. LARRIKIN ACE (6) resumes from a break today and he was a trial winner at Terang 19 days ago so he rates as a chance along with JANSZOON (4), ONE BAD DUDE (10) and the knock out blow likely to come from JEBS XTREME (3) and BOBJACKS ANGLE (11). NATIONAL SERVICE (2) was first up for nearly 10 months when he produced a dazzling turn of foot to blow his rivals away at Ararat last time. He draws much better today and although going up in class he will be improved by that outing. MANWARRA JUSTANACE (1) was a Ballarat winner four runs ago and from the ace alley he'll get a cheap run on the pegs. He represents good value. MY EXALTATION (4) worked home all right at Maryborough last start behind Prime Prospect in what was just a sprint home and he has a strong chance. STOPNTHINK (8) was an easy winner at Charlton last time out and with a slice of luck from his awkward draw he can go back-to-back with rough hopes to SUNSHINES GLORY (5) and JUSTA JEM LOMBO (6).
