Herald Sun Form Guide : November 2nd 2009
heraldsun.com.au Herald Sun, Monday, November 2, 2009 65 + + FB123 C M Y K DHS 2-NOV-2009 PAGE 65 FIRST Assessment: ESS JAYS DASH (10) has been flying through his grades of late and is shooting for four on end. This won't be a pushover for him however as he has the 20m to contend with plus there will be traffic issues but he has a touch of class. ALTA SOLEIL (9) has been very good her past three against some smart types and she'll be a force in this with the right run. RETAINED (6) will offer strong resistance along with WINDY DAWN (8), HEART OF A MAORI (1), LEFT ONE EYE OUT (7) and rough chances to HEZA HERO (5) and ALBA RAMA (12). SELECTIONS: ESS JAYS DASH (10), Alta Soleil (9), Retained (6), Windy Dawn (8) RATINGS: 10/ 6,9/ 8/ 1,7/ 5,12/ 2,3,4/ 11 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 10/ 1,6,7,8,9/ 1,5,6,7,8,9,12 (Cost $20, which gives 66.67%) 9 Peter Egan Retrav. 6.15 2190m. $5500. 4yo & Up C1 Only RBD Mobile 1 37442 DANCING LEGACY Ross Graham Fr ★3.00 2 74883 COBALT BEACH Todd Matthews Fr 26.00 3 21268 ORANGE MIST Scott Dyer Fr 26.00 4 82230 EL CIGARO LOMBO Gavin Lang Fr 3.50 5 0s432 TAYARNA MIA Chris Alford Fr 3.70 6 8148s FRANKIEWHITEBOOTS Brian Gath Fr 11.00 7 s1211 WATERSLIDE Neil McCallum Fr 5.50 Second Line 8 14028 PINAROO JILL Maree Campbell Fr 26.00 9 9s684 HARBHAJAN Peter Leonard Fr 26.00 10 7610s RECKLESS TIMES Kelvin Hamilton Fr 67.00 11 93549 PRINCE CALAF Derrick Krafft Fr 51.00 Assessment: DANCING LEGACY (1) fought on well for second behind Sileni at Bendigo last Tuesday night and from the pole he'll get every chance. EL CIGARO LOMBO (4) will find this easier then what he contested last time and he may have the gate speed to lead. WATERSLIDE (7) is in career best form but from the extreme alley she'll need things to go her way. TAYARNA MIA (5) should be ready to produce her best after three runs back from a break with knock out chances to ORANGE MIST (3) and PINAROO JILL (8). SELECTIONS: DANCING LEGACY (1), El Cigaro Lombo (4), Waterslide (7), Tayarna Mia (5) RATINGS: 1/ 4,7/ 5/ 3,8/ 6,9/ 2/ 11/ 10 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi First Four 1,4/ 1,4,5,7/ 1,3,4,5,7,8/ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (Cost $20, which gives 13.89%) 1 John Fox Pace 6.48 1680m. $5000. 4yo & Up C0 Only RBD Mobile 1 78085 FLYING JASPER Shannon Edwards (C) Fr 3.50 2 66005 ACEY GRACIE Ross Payne Fr 5.50 3 65870 MONSEY Michael Bellman Fr 6.00 4 8908 SPIRIT OF LYNDEN Brendan Mahncke Fr 10.00 5 690 GLENWAY PARK Wayne Parkin Fr 8.00 6 s678s SARZY GAL Mark Hayes Fr ★3.20 7 0s557 LA DAINIAN Laura Crossland Fr 8.00 Assessment: This is a tricky race to start the night. SARZY GAL (6) has actually won a race so already that puts her in esteemed company. She hasn't started for nearly five months but she did win a Maryborough trial eight days ago and in a race lacking depth she might be the way to go. FLYING JASPER (1) is yet to place from his nine attempts but his fifth at Charlton last time wasn't a bad effort and he comes up with the ace draw. LA DAINIAN (7) was a close up fifth in the Pat Cooper Memorial two back then he had a tough run and weakened out of it to finish rearwards here once more behind Settle Doon. This is easier and he has a good each way chance. ACEY GRACIE (2) is the next best while the Mahncke runners SPIRIT OF LYNDEN (4) and GLENWAY PARK (5) can improve on their numerical form. SELECTIONS: SARZY GAL (6), Flying Jasper (1), La Dainian (7), Acey Gracie (2) RATINGS: 6/ 1,7/ 2/ 4,5/ 3 SUGGESTED BET: SARZY GAL (6) to win 2 Picones Pharmacy 7.20 1680m. $5000. He'll be fitter, draws much better and is the one to beat. TOMORROWSANOTHADAY (4) led up in that race mentioned above and ran them along in front but he felt the pinch the last 50m and wound up sixth. He too was first up and he should be a lot sharper tonight. TANGLES WAY (6) had some gear issues last time and was pulled up but his previous fourth at Ararat to The Red Opal is a good form pointer for this. WHATA PEARLER (1) was a Maryborough winner three runs ago and the pole draw will assist her first up while ATHLETICISM (3) should acquit himself well against this line up and he does have good gate speed to put himself into a winning position. SELECTIONS: JEWEL OF MANWARRA (2), Tomorrowsanothaday (4), Tangles Way (6), Whata Pearler (1) RATINGS: 2/ 4,6/ 1,3/ 5 SUGGESTED BET: Standout Flexi First Four 2/ 1,3,4,5,6 (Cost $20, which gives 33.33%) 3 CRT Store Pace 7.52 1680m. $5000. 4yo & Up C0 Only RBD Mobile 1 37106 WEERROOK JET Barry Beasley Fr 3.50 2 81208 NOAHRILEY Kevin Brough Fr 3.20 3 s9s26 INDIGO FALCON Daryl Douglas Fr ★2.50 4 22980 PRINCE HANA Shirley Drake Fr 10.00 5 57s64 JEBS XTREME Mark Yole (C) Fr 7.00 6 868s7 WATERTECH Rod Barker Fr 21.00 Assessment: INDIGO FALCON (3) hit the line strongly for second at Ballarat two runs back and his effort at Bray Raceway on Saturday night was meritorious. He'll be cherry ripe tonight after two runs back from a long spell and he should go very close. NOAHRILEY (2) was a tough Ararat winner four runs ago and with his natural gate speed he should find the pegs first. WEERROOK JET (1) parked out at Horsham and got the cash three runs ago but his two runs here since have only been fair. This is a lot easier however and he'll get a lovely run just off the speed. PRINCE HANA (4) was placed his four runs back but he has been below his best in recent outings. He can run home into a place here though as too can JEBS XTREME (5). SELECTIONS: INDIGO FALCON (3), Noahriley (2), Weerrook Jet (1), Prince Hana (4) RATINGS: 3/ 2 / 1/ 4,5/ 6 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 2/ 1,3/ 1,2,3,4,5 (Cost $20, which gives 333.33%) 4 Gifts @ 70 Pace 8.20 1680m. $5000. He draws the best of the main fancies; he looks the leader and will be very hard to run down. WHATA BLUFF (3) endured a 'chair' trip when third at Ararat two runs ago then he did his share of the bullocking work in the final lap and just weakened the last bit for a close up fifth in the race mentioned above. He is better-suited sit-sprint and if he gets a softer trip tonight watch for him to be hammering home. THATS ALL FUDGE (4) is a handy four year-old who came from well back and just failed to reel in Ball Dancer at Yarra Valley just over three weeks ago. He's been freshened and will be a force in this. They are the only winning hopes with solid place claims to DEVILSLIVEINSIDE (5), DUART CASTLE (1) and MAGGIES MILLIONS (6). He did some work to lead here last time and he kept whacking away for a well-beaten fourth behind Mertyls Louis in reasonable time. He gets back to the mobile tonight and with his natural gate speed he'll make a play for the premier position once more. AMAZON RIVER (11) has his share of ability but he does have a few tricks up his sleeve. He trialled quite well at Ararat two weeks ago and if anyone can get him to straighten up and fly right its 'Dasher'. SWINGALONG BING (2) is in the same boat. He has a sizeable motor but he just hasn't really worked out what to do with it. He switches to the mobile for the first time tonight which is a query but if he happened to do everything right he'll give this an almighty shake. MISS CATHYWATHY (7) has her share of talent also and even though she draws the car park here she'll be competitive with rough hopes to FIERY SALUTE (3) and JEWELL HARBOUR (8). SELECTIONS: EMERALD CRUSADER (6), Amazon River (11), Swingalong Bing (2), Miss Cathywathy (7) RATINGS: 6/ 2,11 /7/ 3,8/ 9,10,12/ 1,4,5 SUGGESTED BET: EMERALD CRUSADER (6) each way 6 Mary Fox Memorial 9.16 2180m. $5000. MISTER ZION (7) deserves top billing on the strength of his dominant all-the-way win at Tabcorp Park 10 days ago. He looked awesome dashing home in a very slippery 56.1. He'll have the 'fitness improvement factor' and is destined for bigger things this season. It won't be a pushover for him though with stiff competition coming from PAYUSINHUNDREDS (5). He is absolutely flying at the moment and his form line is outstanding. He beat Ohoka Nevada three runs ago in a hot stand start affair at Maryborough, made up a stack of ground in a sizzling 27.5 final fraction for fifth here behind The Marksman then he was a gallant third to Parwan Rocket off a tough 20m handicap at Charlton where he again was noted making up many lengths. He does have some gate speed and he may push race handier to them tonight. The clear third pick is GEORGE STREET LAD (3). He draws the best of the fancied runners and if you forget his below par performance here last start he's in with a terrific each way chance. They look a moral trifecta with all remaining runners capable of filling fourth spot. DELWYNS DAUGHTER (1) gets the nod courtesy of the ace draw. She found the line well for third here last time behind Seven Nations in a slick last quarter and she will get every hope from the ideal barrier tonight. STERITA (7) is a smart mare who put three on end before she led up here last time and uncharacteristically she was the first beaten on the turn and only battled up the home running. Obviously she wasn't on her game that night and she is too good to sack after one bad run. She has blinding gate speed and I'm expecting her to fly out and take up the running. They should fight it out with place claims going to ULTIMATE TYCOON (8) who will get a soft run on the pegs and will be getting home along the sprint lane, LOLA BROMAC (6) bounced back to somewhere near her best form with a solid second placing behind the in-form Parwan Rocket in a stand start at Charlton last time out while TASHA THE BASHA (2) and GO GIRLFRIEND (3) the next best. He'll be cherry ripe for this today and on an each way basis he'll give you a sight. IAM SQUIGGLES (7) was placed behind the smart Jaccka Felix at Geelong two back then he battled on strongly for second to Slip Mahone at Tabcorp Park 10 days ago. He lacks early dash so the alley won't bother him too much and watch for him to be powering home. He was a strong Ashburton winner before crossing the Tasman and he has been trialling stylishly at Shepparton in preparation for this. Make him your anchor. The logical quinella horse is TEEJAY FELLA (2). He did a good job to run fifth behind Your Beautiful at Shepparton last start and he draws much better this afternoon. ANDREA HAYLEY (9) followed the pegs home for fifth at Bendigo to Sileni in 1:57.8 and from her good trailing draw she can run into a place with the next best being TWICE THE FUN (11). He did a bit wrong at the start when second to Life On The Line at Kilmore last time and with a smooth beginning here he'll go very close. His only danger will be CHERRY SWEET (3). This race is no harder and he'll acquit himself well. JILLIBY PRINCE (4) resumes from a short break but his did trial well behind classy stable mate Keayang Hanover at Terang late last month. He has had two goes at the stand for a win and he is a tough type. WALTON VAN (11) has a sound stand start record and with a cart into the race today he can be dangerous. ROAD TO RAINBOW (5) might be the improver as he likes these conditions and his Kilmore Cup sixth wasn't a bad effort. KARLSRUHE (13) flashed home for fifth behind Smoken Up and Melpark Major in the Preux Chevalier at Tabcorp Park then he smashed the clock off the 20m for fourth behind Ohoka Nevada in the Gammalite again at Melton. He was scratched from the Nyah Cup with a little problem but that has since been sorted and he trialled well at Kilmore six days ago. The veteran DONTFENCEMEIN (2) loves these conditions and although he has been racing in claimers he normally begins well and he may be the value. TI VOGLIOBENE (11) was never a factor after a poor getaway in the Kilmore Cup but his fourth behind Melpark Major in the Desperate Comment FFA was a sign this guy is getting back to his best. He can be a bit hit and miss from the stand but I'm sure Greg 'The Shoog' Sugars can get him away safely. OUR MADAGASCAR (1) enjoyed a soft run on the pegs when placed in the Nyah Cup last start and he has the draw to receive every hope. The resuming and talented WIDEFORD HILL (12) is the next best with VERANJEE (4), VERY CHIC (6), THATS MISTER ALI (8), FEW GOOD MEN (9) and DEANNA TROY (10) all rating a mention.
