He s a talented gelding who s on the up and this looks his race. JUST WAL (8) caught the eye at his first start for Tony Peacock when in the betting and luckless and close sixth from the outside of the second ine in an unsuitable mobile sprint affair here last week. He hasn t won for some time will be the big improver. BADLANDS CHIEF (2) was having his third run from a short break when working hard to the breeze and fourth here a fortnight ago. Victorious at three of his seven standing start tries, he draws to break back into the winners list. ASAFA (3) Is an honest gelding who won a Maryborough stand, then was luckless from the second line here last week behind King Of Paradise. This should suit. The in-form JOHNORAMA (14) has plenty of traffic to get around but rates an each way chance. Ratings:5/8/2,3/14/4,11/1,7,10/9,12,13. He made it 12 wins from 22 career starts when working from this mark to lead and finishing off in 58.8 when annexing the Wedderburn Trotters Cup at Maryborough a fortnight ago, and he looks the clear top pick once more. Ex-Kiwi INDIAN WELLS (7) galloped on the turn when a likely winner of a Yarra Valley Trotters Cup two starts back, then was sprint laned into second place by AFRITI (6) in last weekend s Shepparton Trotters Cup. BETE NOIRE (2) is an inconsistent performer who was runner up in the Kilmore Trotters Cup five starts back and returned to something near his best with an easy win from a 60 metre back mark at Ararat nine days ago. He looks nicely handicapped. Good each way claims to SOSOCLASSY (4), AFRITI (6), RED SAMURAI (8), SUNSET TRUSCOTT (10), EARL OF MOT (12), SUN OF IRIS (13). Ratings:9/7/2/6/4,8/10,12,13. She draws perfectly for a sprint race. The David Aiken trained pair ULTIMATE UNDER FIRE (9) and ON ANY DAY (10) were both four time winners as three year olds last season and performed well at the highest level. Both have trialled well for their return. GLENFERRIE ALEXIS (8) is a talented ex-Kiwi mare who ran second in the NZ Oaks last season. She was a short priced favourite when winning first up at Geelong last week and although not over impressive, will be improved and draws to trail this favourite. FRANCO NEWSMAN (12) was in the top echelon as a two and three year old and he resumes into a winnable race, albeit from a bad barrier. Ratings:1/8/9?10?/12/7/13. TEAR IT ALL AWAY (4), a seven time winner last season, caught the eye with a flashing late finish for fourth to stablemate to Mister Anthony when resuming here last week. He s not the speediest of beginners but will be handy enough over the sprint trip. JACCKA SANDY (5) made it six wins from his last nine starts when working to the breeze and out-staying them here a fortnight ago. He s a tough customer who draws to win again. Speedy gelding FRANCO AMBASSADOR (2) has won three races this season and looks the likely leader. Forget his unplaced effort here last week when forced to do it tough. Best of the others is ALBERT JACCKA (8), who won here, then was placed at the Valley before luckless unplaced efforts on this circuit over the past fortnight. That quintet rate clearly ahead of the others. Ratings:9/4,5/2/8. Suggested bet: Flexi box trifecta 2, 4, 5, 8 and 9. 5 PLM Global Management 8.40 2240m. $15000. She drew awkwardly and was forced to make two strong moves here last week when a gallant third to Monarco Miss and has a chance of finding the lead this time. Whichever way, she ll be mighty hard to beat. VILLAGE PUNGEE (6) was an improved effort when battling on solidly for second to Boris Badenov in a fast 1:54.9 sprint affair here last time, gets Gavin back and is sure to be a force. COASTAL (13) showed the benefit of recent racing with a soft all the way victory over winner since Aubrey James here a fortnight ago and is equally adept when driven from behind. PRINCE BENJI (10) is a tough gelding who was in need of the run when down the track behind Make Waves here a fortnight ago. Expect big improvement. Each way chances to LOMBO ALLIANCE (1), who s been drawing poorly and hasn t been disgraced in recent runs; YOORA DILL (8), who s been luckless of late; and talented sit/sprint mare STACCATO (12) - improved by her first up fifth here a fortnight ago. CULLENS ACE (3) hasn t missed a place at her last five appearances and comes off back-to-back all the way victories at Geelong and a last start second in fast time at Bendigo to Make A Memory with the in- form Aubrey James third. She looks the leader and will be hard to run down. JAZZEE VALENTINE (10) was having his first run for five weeks when an unexpected winner at long odds at Kilmore eleven days ago, will be improved and gets back Gavin. HECTIC (4) was heavily supported when doing plenty of work and cut down late in a 56.6 last half at Yarra Valley a fortnight ago. She has gate speed and is sure to be prominent. The Dean Braun trained pair of DE LA ROSA (5) and BLYTON BROMAC (6) are more-than-handy performers who won multiple races in prior preparations to their first up thirds in recent races at Geelong. They ll both be improved and grade well at this level. LADYINLACE (1) won seven races last season and didn t have much luck from an awkward second line draw when resuming at Geelong last week. Expect a bold showing from the pole. Ratings:3/4,5,6,10/1/7,8,13. TI VOGLIOBENE (3) showed blistering early speed in a 1:56.6 victory over this trip here three starts back before luckless second line efforts in the Popular Alm FFA and Victoria Cup Consolation over the last fortnight ago. His chance will be enhanced if he can find the top. CINCINNATI KID (6) beat a similar field here four starts back and comes off a solid fourth to BOLD CRUISER (10) in the Popular Alm FFA and a luckless eighth when not far away in the Victoria Cup last week. He s grades well against these. SAMMY MAGUIRE (12) made it 15 wins from 26 starts with a tough first up victory in the standing start Wedderburn Cup twelve days ago where he worked around them in the breeze and finished off in 56.3. He ll be further improved by the outing. KEAYANG HANOVER (2) returned to something like his best form when sitting in the breeze and bloused by sprint- laning MAKE WAVES (7) here a fortnight ago and is due to win his first race in more than a year. OHOKA UTAH (1) had good form at this level last season and hasn t had much go his way in five runs this term. He s dropping in grade from recent runs and has the draw this time. ATOMIC ARK (4) caught the eye with a fast finishing Vic Cup Consolation third last week and is working into some pretty good form. A return to the front line is what he s been looking for. MASTER OF DISGUISE (5), MAKE WAVES (7); I AM SAM (9), who ran on well here last week, and the inconsistent KARLSRUHE (11), are also in the mix. Ratings: 3/6,12/1,2,5,/9,10,11/5,7. He draws awkwardly but is certainly the class factor. Former handy youngster UNOJOE (4) has been in the wilderness for the past couple of seasons but showed big improvement at his second run for Lisa Miles when flashing home from near last at the end of a 56.0 final stanza for third to Aubrey James at Shepparton last weekend. He s close to a breakthrough. LUMINOUS LOMBO (5) has a good record at this level although he s yet to open his metro maiden account. Recent seconds in strong races at the Valley and Cranbourne were followed by a slightly below par fifth to Jaccka Sandy here a fortnight ago but this race looks a little easier. He has blistering gate speed and could find the top. LOMBO LUMBER JACK (1) is a tough customer who may get headed off but if he doesn t, will be mighty hard to run down as he grows a leg when up front.
