A lightly raced filly, she had a slow start to her career but this season has won three of five and she comes off three year old victories at Geelong and at Moonee Valley a month ago when beating far better than these. LITTLE MISS FIRE (8) won on debut at Geelong back in August and has done well since, with five placings from seven tries. Third at Tabcorp Park three starts back, she was caught wide there when a solid fifth at her next run, then led before handing up to the highly talented Brushgrovemachbest at Geelong a fortnight ago when running that mare to two metres. She gets Kerryn this time and will be a worthy rival for the favourite. SLIPPINALONG (10) was a three time winner as a three year old last season, the most recent of those at Geelong in August. He resumes into a winnable race for his first run since a Tabcorp Park failure three months ago. SEVEN NATIONS (9) is an honest mare who was placed twice before finishing fifth at Geelong during the week and has each way claims along with GODINES JASPER (3), DANGER IN DISGUISE (5) and SKY SALUTE (6). Ratings:11/8/10/3,5,6,9/12. He's won three of his last four starts and comes off all the way victories at Canberra and Wagga, scoring by a combined 28 metres in those two efforts. FINN LEE (10) is a talented ex-Kiwi who's won four of eight. A dual winner in Hobart in June/July, he resumed with a fast finishing second to stablemate Mapua Legend at Horsham three weeks ago, then began badly but was quickly put into the race when an easy Maryborough standing start winner over PALERMO (6) last Friday. PALERMO (6) is an honest youngster who preceded that Maryborough placing with an all the way sprint victory at Geelong. He has strong each way claims. RENATE CHRISTA (3) showed ability when she started racing in October with her best effort a nose defeat in a strong Tabcorp Park affair. After a Geelong failure five weeks ago, she was off the scene for a month before running a bold race in front when cut down late by Definite Girl at Geelong last week. WILEY JASPER (9) did plenty of work and finished off well to score at Cranbourne ten days ago before having no luck when outclassed anyway behind Enthralled in a $40,000 3YO affair at Tabcorp Park last Friday night. The query runner is BRAZILIAN MONK (8), a Geoff Webster trained youngster who showed up in three starts back in July and resumes off some handy trials. Ratings:7?/10/3,6/9/8?/1. Two runs back, she was beaten a head by False Gem at Bendigo (July 11) and meets beatable opposition. OLLIE NOVA (9) has ability but doesn't often trot all the way. He's made mistakes in both runs since resuming and should he consent to do it right, would more than likely be in the finish. SPEEDY NAOMI (8) wasn't disgraced against the pacers last time and three starts back ran a bold third at Bendigo to Cilla's Earl. SHARENDOO LASS (2) grades well on her best form and will be improved by three runs back from a spell.. In an open race, all bar (3) can win. Ratings:10?/9/2,5,8/4,7/1. Prior to that he'd won from the breeze at Geelong then beat Hollywood Bromac and Sterita from the death seat in a Moonee Valley 4YO affair. The wide draw however, makes him vulnerable to his main danger THIEFINTHENIGHT (2), an ex-Kiwi who won three races on end before galloping twice when a hot favourite at Maryborough three weeks ago at his latest run. This fellow is a talented Kerryn Manning trained 4YO who has the draw this time and may set them a task should he find the lead. HAMILTON (8) is another ex-Enzedder who won at Forbury Park back in June, then at Launceston at his next run before going for a spell. He disappointed at his first two runs this campaign but there was a lot to like about the way he sprinted clear of a standing start field when scoring by 12 metres at Maryborough last week. That trio rate clearly ahead of FOUR WISE MEN (1), who battled on strongly from well back when a recent third here in a fast sprint race. Place chances at least to PRINCE OF ALBERT (4) and MORE SASSIE LOMBO (5). Ratings:7/2/8/1/5/4. He was devoid of luck when a fast finishing second at Horsham two starts back, then had the run of the race and used the sprint lane to score an easy and fast Ararat victory ten days ago at his latest run. Drawn the pole, he may be too slippery for these. ME OLE MATE LOMBO (9) had been out of form before finishing off in 56.6 in an all the way Yarra Valley success, then stormed home from near last on the turn and beaten a nose into second place by Tellthebanker at Geelong nine days ago. He's racing in career best form. IP GAME OF CHANCE (11) led and was cut down late by Hollywood Bromac in a Tabcorp Park sprint affair last weekend, then backed up again here last Monday to be beaten on the line once more, this time over the longer trip by Corporate Power Broker. He's in form and overdue a win. ANOTHER HOLMES (3) is a tough gelding who won at Geelong early last month and has been placed in all three runs since, the latest of those when beaten five metres from the breeze by ME OLE MATE LOMBO (9) at Yarra Valley, then when a solid third at Maryborough last week. Each way chances to MAGNE (4), who'd been in hot form before disappointing at Echuca last time; and ROCKETROD CULLEN (5), who also raced below his best when fourth at Maryborough at his latest outing -- his prior runs were first class. This fellow is an improving Emma Stewart trained four year old who'll be racing for metro money before too long. The other heat was won by MANWARRA KINSMAN (6), who had the run of the race but he doesn't draw as well this time. Perhaps a better chance from that heat may be BULLY MURPHY (1), who was wide to the breeze, fought on well and draws to sit on the pace this time. His stablemate SAFELY LOADED (8) looks the only other winning chance - he'll receive a nice trail from this alley. He completed the hat trick, two of those wins at Tabcorp Park, with a solid success there over The Marksman in a Spring Championship heat three runs back, then was a desperately unlucky second to Sterlish in the final at the Valley a month ago. His latest effort was a bold and brave fourth in the Yarra Valley Cup where he was pressured in the lead and cut down late into fourth place by Jaccka Clive in a blistering 1:59.6 standing start track record. Whatever beats him here will win. MY GOLD ART (3) followed good efforts in heat and final of the Spring Championship at Tabcorp Park and Moonee Valley with an easy and fast 1:56.8 Bendigo sprint victory, then was badly shut in when unplaced at Tabcorp Park last weekend. This is his best draw in ages and he has an excellent each way chance. IM SAFELY HOLM (2) is a wonderfully consistent gelding who's won 8 of 19 with eight placings. Four luckless placings on end were followed by an easy all the way Ararat victory ten days ago where he led, and he draws to find the front once more. MISTER RHYS (12) made two moves and fought on strongly when fourth in the Wedderburn Cup to Sammy Maguire at Maryborough last time and although drawn awkwardly is sure to be prominent in the closing stages. Each way chances to recent Bendigo winner MAKE A MEMORY (1); IM FULL OF FIRE (10), who won five races last season but hasn't started since winning a Hobart FFA back in May and SECRET TENDER (9), who'll be improved by his first up unplaced effort here last Monday. A three time juvenile winner in his homeland, he scored in all the way fashion at Horsham three weeks ago at his Aussie start, then led all the way before holding off a late challenge to score well at Ararat ten days ago. DANLUKANNE (3) is an improving type who battled on nicely after covering ground in a first up Maryborough second last week and he looks the clear second pick, with the other raced pair of CHESTY JOE (4) and MASTERAMA (5) having place claims. The first starters are FACE THE DAY (2) (Day In A Life -- Cam Black), a Paul Rowse trained 4YO mare whose dam is a half sister to Decorated Jasper (trialling moderately here); and BRANDICA (6) (Badlands Hanover -- Truant Franco), a Brian Ruschmeyer trained 4YO Kiwi bred mare whose only sibling is a winner -- this mare placed in recent Geelong and Kilmore trials.
