On her 2nd placing behind PINEVALE ADAM (6) three starts ago from the mobile, she ought to be in the finish and her better Victorian efforts are certainly up to winning this. PINEVALE ADAM (6) doesn t win often enough to be a genuine betting proposition and is awkwardly drawn here. But he s a consistent horse who is always around the placings and looks well placed in this field. SUSWE (8) was a disappointment first-up in Australia from the stand after starting badly. She s placed both goes from the mobile and is worth another chance here with the potential for a good trail. SAW FOOT (10) has an akward draw but was a Globe Derby winner two starts ago and has decent form this season. With so many unreliable types, it might pay to go wide with the multiples. She s drawn to take up a forward position and her most recent runs behind Kimiko Three and Five Star Jasper would probably win this. LIVELY MIST (3) has more recent form around Kimiko Three and has been knocking on the door without winning. She won t be far away from the handy draw. RONNIE RUDE (1) has run well at all three starts since resuming and goes in the mix from the pole, while LAUNCH ME (4), INNER PEACE (5) and THE DARL (6) are all last-start winners but the question mark is the runs they get from the draw. INNER PEACE is perhaps the pick of them after just edging out Shadows Of A Man last weekend. PREZ (8) is always capable of bobbing up and is drawn to get the nice trail. WHATA SPECIAL (6) is awkwardly drawn but was a big improver at his second start back in SA behind Scarlet Jasper. They ran pretty decent time and he wasn t far away. BOSTON KNIGHT (8) led from the stand and was run down by Roaming Ranger at Port Pirie last start. He had been racing without much luck prior to that and battling wide draws, so the inside of the second row might be of help to him. CAMKENZIE BOY (1) will give them something to chase from the pole but it s hard to making a winning case for too many of the other runners. SALDIVAR (9) is a place candidate and MASSARUA (7) has been too good of a horse to ignore completely. But his recent efforts have been a long way short of his best. There is gate speed drawn directly in front of him and he deserves to be given another chance here with the likelihood of a cheap run behind the speed. TOPOFTHEWORLD (2) wasn t beaten far here last start after racing directly behind the leader from the second row. Before that he d been plagued by bad draws and he won t get too many better chances to break through than this at start 43. DEVLI FISH (4) hasn t won for more than a year but his last couple of efforts behind Jilliby Cougar in country Victoria have been very sound. Last start he had no luck at all at Stawell and was beaten only 5.8m in decent time. SIZE MATTERS (6) is awkwardly drawn and still learning about the caper but has the raw ability to be in the finish here, while PRIOR NOTICE (7) isn t hopeless on his 3rd two starts ago behind Mikes Back. You could hardly describe him as consistent, however. SELECTIONS: DEVIL FISH (4), Villain (8), Size Matters (6), Topoftheworld (2) 5 Pace 9.24 1800m. $2500. That horse would likely start a short-priced favourite here and his best looks up to this. TAPCRACKER (10) has a tough draw but will find this much easier than what he s contested in Victoria recently. He ran only fairly at his local debut but this race looks significantly easier. LADY COSTALOT (3) did a good job last start to worry Size Matters out of the cash. The time wasn t anything flash but she s drawn to run another good race here. BAUME (2) led and was just reeled in late by The Darl on Monday. She ll be in the firing line for a long time here. The former is racing in great heart and scored a deserved win last time out over this track and distance from the pole after showing great speed from the gate to lead and narrowly hold on from Tinsnip. NUTHA LIGNUM is racing OK and might need a little luck especially if the race is run similar to last time when restrained at the start to sit four back along the rail and doing best over the concluding stages. JENNAS BEACH GIRL (3) led and was run down on Saturday night and is likely to find this a little easier. Has the gate speed to be handy and looms as a definite each-way threat. ROCK THE BOAT (8), came from the same drawn on Monday. He was held up early on but then had a nice trail behind the leader at the bell and only finished 3m from the winner. SICKLE MOND (9) is back to the 1800m after close-up second as favourite before a break and is capable of a bold showing fresh after a winning 3m trial on Sunday when beating Mohua. Both, ARMBRO ROCKET (3) and EXPRESS DASH (5) showed good form last campaign. The latter scored at only start over the 1800m in June here when doing a lot wrong on debut and still winning comfortably. Has been primed for first-up tilt by trainer Peter Borrelli with a 12m win over this race journey in a trial on Sunday. ARMBRO ROCKET also won a trial on Sunday and he wasn t disgraced in his initial preparation. Did lead throughout two starts back on August 10 and from a good gate should be in the firing line for a long way. JACKS ON THE ROCKS (8) smashed his rivals on debut when controlling the race and set up a 21m victory then not beaten far when hung in and raced outside leader for fourth on Monday. SPEED BALL (1) and SIR SWANKY (6) are definitely in the mix, the latter raced without cover and didn t do a bad job to finish fifth on Monday while the latter, from the pole, should be handy for a long way. He showed gate speed and then was given the run of the race before compounding over the latter stages. Previous Pirie effort was good enough to win this as he led and was just pipped on the line over the mile. MISTER MINCHEN (3) is coming in off a break and usually puts in a good performance fresh, last time running 2nd first-up over the 1800m journey from a similar gate. Although beaten 35m last time DREAM POWER (2) can capitalise on the gate and looms as a likely leader. If she can dictate a win is well in her grasp despite not having scored in just over a year. MY SECRET LOT (8) hasn t been too far off recently and might need luck from inside of the second row, however, cannot be left out and CHIEF LAKOTA (10) has fair country form and could be placed.
