He wasn't beaten far first- up behind Master Joy who is himself a smart horse in the making. It's hard to gripe with anything JONNYNDRY (5) has achieved to date. He's now won seven on the trot, including the two-year-old Southern Cross last time in. The draw will provide a test however and his most recent win was only a narrow one in moderate company - although he cost himself ground when galloping early and then toughed it out in the finish. HEEZHOT (2) was runner-up to JONNYNDRY at his first start for the Toby Ryan stable, then got the the job done at Port Pirie last start. He has ability and it wouldn't shock to see him run into the placings. Same goes for KORUNYE KID (3) and ROKEWOOD (7) who ran some solid races in good company last season but has to overcome a very tough draw here. She was a beaten short-priced favourite at Mildura in between but looks a progressive type and won't be far away. MANDS GEARL (2) has only two wins from 15 starts but some very solid form on the other side of the border. A 6th behind Led Suitcase in a Breeders Crown final, beaten 6.3m, isn't bad form for this race. Her lead-up run at Kilmore last week was quite good. SHES NORMA JEANE (3) won an Australian Pacing Gold heat at Bendigo earlier in the year before her form tapered away. Her first-up 3rd at Maryborough in good time suggest she's come back well. SINOPOLI (5) hasn't lived up to her early promise but looks the best of the locals, while PEACES OF YOU (10) hasn't missed a place in five starts since resuming but must contend with an awkward draw. Respect any money for IMACHICITOO (6). She's drawn poorly but ran a good race from wide out on the second row behind Fat Boy Fella on Wednesday. CLARENDEN ELECTRA (11) was a close-up 4th to PRIMO HAMER three starts ago, before struggling here on Monday. He's drawn to take up a forward position from the outset and really looks to have the class factor in this field. It seems fair to suggest that whatever beats him wins. LONGTAN SAFARI (6) is the form local runner but also maybe the hardest to place versus Victorian formlines. His last start demolition job here rating 1.58.7 for the 2230m suggests he's up to being very competitive. The draw is a challenge but expect him to be thereabouts in the finish. THE LIGHTNING RIDGE (2) is an interesting runner. He ran well three starts ago behind TI VOGLIOBENE at Melton, then followed up with a shocker from the stand at Yarra Valley. But on Boxing Day at Ballarat he was very good, getting a lovely cart into the race and then launching a barnstorming run down the outside to nab the smart Village Of Dreams right on the post. A repeat would just about win this. ULTIMATE MARK (10) has been a good horse and ran 2nd behind Henchman at Melton on Thursday night but his best days are probably behind him, while CAMPBELL WALLACE (3) is a well-drawn last start winner here significantly up in class. POLO PRINCE (8) has been in improver at his last two starts and can get a good trail. SCRUFFY MURPHY (11) is a place hope but would need everything to go his way from the very tough draw. The draw could be a touch tricky but he's a very consistent horse and will be in the finish. RAZA SHARP LOMBO (2) resumes after a very good winter campaign that included a close-up 4th in the Southern Cross final behind Tiger OReilly, when he galloped at the start and didn't have a lot of luck. He's drawn to be in this a long way. PANDEMANIA (4) has strung together consecutive wins at Globe Derby, the most recent by some 18m. He looks a player here, along with TINSNIP (7), who has the ability to overcome the wide draw. Last start he did a stack of work and was only just beaten by Ivana Trump, rating 2.00.8 for the 1800m. It might pay to go wide with the multiples - THE PRESTIGE (1) will relish drawing the pole, LOVES A DRINK (5) is ticking over nicely and UNLIMITED WARRANTY (8) is racing well and has drawn to get a nice trail into the race. But if he rediscovers his form of mid-winter he's up to winning this, despite the akward draw. He's a very handy horse when right, having won 14 of 32 starts, including a C4-C8 race in July. RYANS JOURNEY (8) had the same draw as a beaten short-priced favourite last Saturday but ended up having a wide trip. Tipping he'll get a better trail here and will be hard to beat. They look the two main winning chances, although CLARENDEN SERENE (3) is an improver if she runs up to her best. She began slowly here last week and still wasn't far away from RYANS JOURNEY. With the right cart up she'll hit the line hard. THE JAZZ MAN (6) is racing consistently and might be the best of the rest. SELECTIONS: LA BALLE DE FLAMME (10), Ryans Journey (8), Clarenden Serene (3), The Jazz Man (6) 9 Pace 10.52 1800m. $4500. BE WATCHING (1) is well drawn and in form with two wins and four seconds in six starts this campaign. Does have enough gate speed to make full use of the pole position but even if she takes a sit she does appear the toughest to beat. RAISE THE HAND (4) led throughout two starts back defeating Unlimited Warranty, then two weeks ago also showed pace before battling on well. RAISINA RUCKUS (6) has very consistent form and if he runs up to his best looms as a definite threat. He was just over 4m away last start after racing three-wide without cover at the bell coming from inside the second row. AMBERLU GIRLS (4) is also going OK in town and is worth each-way thought, while former NZ pacer HEZA STREET KID (9) showed he can make the grade when coming from behind the leader in the sprint lane to score on Monday. GANGA AND SLIM (10) from good Victorian stable can feature strongly without surprising after showing a bit in his first four race starts. At his last start before going for a spell in August he was beaten only 9.3m by the very smart Acacia Ridge at Melton. HEZA HERO (3) was 4th behind Danny Bouchea at Combram. He hasn't had much exposure to the mobile but has a good record at this track and should be around the place at the finish. In contrast, RIVER RED (5) might be better suited by the mobile than the stand. Forget his last-start effort at Shepparton, where nothing went right and go on his tough win at Harold Park in late October. Big show. MAJOR GRANT(1) brings some good formlines - a strong win here off 40m two starts ago and then a 3rd to the in-form Simon Tappertit last start. He's yet to win in four starts from the mobile but has placed twice. The interesting runner is SUNNY STONE (10), who won off 50m at Albion Park earlier in the month, rating 2.03.9. He has a tough draw and is a 10-yer-old but has won five of his last seven starts in Queensland and has a class factor. ONEAKWEER STREET (8) won here two starts ago and has the trailing draw, while STEFANJAZ (2) is ticking over okay without winning and is drawn to take up a forward position.
