He ran a bold third in a similar race to this two starts back at Nyah then was wide with a trail in the last lap when a close second here last week. He ll settle closer this time from this trailing draw and has a chance of winning his first race for nearly three years. BAUME (10) has looked good in recent Globe Derby efforts where she led and was cut down by a narrow margin 10 days ago then again found the front in her all the way victory there last Friday night. She s not as well suited from the second line this time but certainly has the formline against beatable opposition. CACOS LIGHT (1) comes off placings at Nyah and here with each way claims from the pole. She ll get the run of the race over this sprint trip. Best of the others is THIRTEEN MONKEYS (11) who finished a solid fourth from the breeze here last week. A return to the front line should suit him perfectly. MASTER MASON (4) sole win from 18 runs so far, was here back in March he s been placed in six of nine this term. He had the run of the race when drawing outside then sitting on MATTER OF TASTE (6) when a three metre third to that fellow here last time, and with the barriers reversed can also reverse that decision. SAINT BABE (5) won at Nyah four starts back, sat in the breeze when fifth here to MATTER OF TASTE (6) a fortnight ago, then didn t have much go his way in that interference marred event here last week. The query runner is DAKOTA REBEL (7) who raced five time as a juvenile last season for an impressive victory on this circuit in May and four unplaced efforts. He showed his gate speed when leading all the way from a wide alley here back in November and that early toe should help him find the lead here from the pole. Whatever beats him will win. GOLD TARGET (7) is a wonderfully consistent four year old gelding who won back to back races at Echuca and Nyah before sitting wide when third here then finishing third on this circuit last week to Redcourtcopa where he had a tough run outside the leader. Draw behind this favourite Douglas may drive him for luck this time and with a clear run in the home straight, he s a definite threat. PANORAMA DRIVE (5) won four races last season and his two runs from a spell have resulting in back to back seconds on this circuit, coming from well back in both. He s close to a breakthrough. The other winning hope is WHAT WILL BE (2), who won well at Nyah three starts back when conquering a wide trip -- he hasn t had much luck in either run since but this time draws a decent alley. A Glenn Douglas trained ex Kiwi, he s won three races this season, the latest of those when coming from well back at Shepparton a month ago. He then was caught wide when fourth on that circuit before a tough death seat trip when grabbed on the line by Clear The Floor in a fast 1:55.2 Yarra Valley sprint affair then raced outside quality performer Royal Surprise when fourth at Young last Sunday. STRIKE A LIFE (4) is a dual winner this season the latter of those when sitting in the breeze and rating a fast 1:59.5 over the sprint trip here last week. He rates as this favourite s main danger. REDCOURTCOPA (7) had the run of the race to win here three starts back then disappointed at his next run before leading all the way here last week. He has claims along with ALBERTA VANCE (1) who hasn t had much go his way in recent times and is a likely improver this time from the pole. SMOOTH (10) is a consistent four year old who won at Nyah four runs back and comes off a solid second to Onefootinthegrave in track record time here last week where, although well beaten, he finished well ahead the others. LOADED (11) has won four of six this season, the most recent of those at Nyah three weeks ago. He was caught in the breeze in that track record race here last week and understandably weakened and is sure to do better this time. HAYDEN SCOTT (6) is in career best form. He s won two of three here recently the most recent of those efforts when wide without cover and a tough effort here last week. GREYGREY (9) was a Tabcorp Park winner five runs back but has failed in three runs here recently. She was favourite when pulling too hard in the lead and dropping out here last week but should settle a lot better this time from her trailing draw. His main danger here is STARCRAZY (5) who hasn t won for nearly two years but showed good ability at his second run in this area when flashing home late to finish a close fourth here last week. Both those recent victories here have been from the breeze and she should be able to control this race with her major rivals all drawn the second line. WELSH BEAUTY (11) is a handy mare who comes off a hat-trick of placings, the most recent when wide in the last lap and beaten a length here last week by PARABADOO MAGIC (6). With better luck she can reverse the decision. EM JASPER (10) won twice here in November but his form since has been patchy. It was an improved effort last week when, after an early mistake, he fought on well for third behind Onefootinthegrave in track record time. He hasn t raced since a failure there in July but the opposition here isn t strong. JAGGED ACE (6) is Greg Cramp trained mare who hasn t been placed in four starts but races out of Mildura s top stable and big improvement can be expected. Stablemate TAKING CARE OF IT (1) was unplaced in three starts in October/November but looks nicely placed in this area and may run a bold race from the pole.
