This fellow was one of our better two year olds last season and was good enough to make the Breeders Crown Final. He ll be improved by his three runs back from a spell and grades nicely at this level, although this is his first try from the stand. TAB ONE (1) is an honest four year old who s been placed at his latest five starts with a Cranbourne win amongst those efforts, two starts back in November. Placed at his only try from the stand, he resumes from a seven week break off an outstanding and fast Kilmore standing start trial victory and will be mighty hard to beat from the pole. ONEBYONE (3) will be improved by back-to-back Geelong placings, her only runs since August. A winner of her only standing start try, she has strong each way claims. HEATHVALE LAD (5) has been placed a couple of times here in stronger stands than this and looks nicely graded with the claim for talented youngster Jason Hackett. KING HIGH (6) (resumes off a winning trial), Tasmanian visitor IM LE FREAK (7), and ICE ICE (11), a recent winner here, look best of the others. Ratings:8/1/3,5/6?11/7? She made a mistake first up from the stand before an all the way mobile victory at Kilmore three weeks ago and will be further improved by those runs. BREVILLIAN (5) won two of seven in his juvenile season, the most recent of those at Maryborough in August. He hasn t started since a mid-field finish in the Breeders Crown Final here back in August but has been trialling nicely. Stablemates ANDANDMAN (3) and WEARY POCKETS (4) both won as juveniles last season and will be improved by recent racing. They have each way claims along with IMAGUNNADOGOOD (6), who hasn t started since a Maryborough win in October, and MILLWOOD TRIX (8), who s been placed four times since winning at Maryborough in September. MADISKITA (7) and AMELIA DARLING (12) are also in the mix. The first starter is EARN SUM DOUGH (1) (Elsu -- Snitch NZ), a Ken Tippet trained gelding who was recently placed in a Geelong trial. He should be even fitter and looks the benchmark. ULTIMATE MARK (5), who beat WALTON VAN (4) at the Valley three starts back, ran second to HENCHMAN (9) in that race here a fortnight ago where he sat in the breeze and although well beaten, finished clear of third placegetter OHOKA ATOM (7). He has gate speed, looks the likely leader and will be hard to run down. WALTON VAN (4) followed his second to ULTIMATE MARK (5) here eight weeks ago with a Wedderburn Cup failure and is resuming from a short break. He grades nicely at this level. OHOKA ATOM (7) was having his first run since July when making late ground for third here to HENCHMAN (9), then worked to the breeze and scored a tough Cranbourne success last week against slightly easier than what he meets here. Rate him highly. Second placegetter in that Cranbourne affair JUST STAY N ALIVE (3) fought on well after finding the breeze mid-race, that following a close second here to Alby Albert, and he has claims along with HITEMUP (1), who started favourite from an awkward draw at Cranbourne but was never a factor. He won three of four in prior runs at this level and will certainly show up this time from the rare good draw. Ratings:9/5/4/1,7/3. She finished an outstanding second to Morgan Abby here in a Gold Chalice last week where from an awkward draw she was eased to the rear, wide in the last lap and beaten a nose. Although this race is easier, it s still quite a strong field. PREDICT (7) was a winner and placegetter from two starts last season and created a big impression with her first up Geelong victory last week when wide in the last lap and strong at the finish. The awkward draw won t help but she looks a filly of the future. OUR ULTIMATE LILY (9) ran fourth at Addington at her only two year old start, then caught the eye with a fast finishing second at Shepparton eleven days ago when having her first Australian run. She ll improve vastly for that outing and has strong each way claims. HILTON BROMAC (2) showed up well in strong races late last season, then didn t really fire when resuming at Kilmore three weeks ago before making good late ground when beaten just over a length and seventh to Morgan Abby here last time. She ll be improved by those runs and gets the draw. SA Oaks winner GEM OF REIBEY (11) used the sprint lane to beat easier than these at Globe Derby last time and she stays under notice. LADY TOTTINGTON (8) has been a big improver this time in and is in the mix along with IM ONI JONES (12), a Bendigo winner at her second start who ran second in a strong Moonee Valley affair eight weeks ago - her most recent outing. This looks a much easier race and despite the wide draw, will be hard to hold out. OHOKA UTAH (3) looked good in five wins last season but hasn t been placed in nine runs this term. He led when a close fifth to Sammy Maguire here a fortnight ago, was luckless in last week s Horsham Cup, and may find the lead here in this easier race. He s due to improve. PACIFIC CHARM (8) had a purple patch late last season with her highlight being a victory over some top liners in the 4&5YO Championship at Moonee Valley. She was wide in the last lap and battled on well when a strong first up fifth in a fast 1:56.1 to Mendelico over this trip here last week and from this good trailing draw, will be close enough in the run. CHARLEYS DREAM (9) and PRINCE BENJI (11) are both tough pacers with each way claims along with the speedy IN MONACO (1), who s due to improve; ALBERT JACCKA (4), luckless here of late; and MEGASAM (5), who made an early mistake last week but will be improved by two runs this time in. He hasn t started since a luckless unplaced effort in the Breeders Crown 3YO Final back in August but showed his readiness for this with a fast and easy victory over stablemate Pacific Charm in a recent Maryborough trial. HEI HOUDINI (8) has done well since resuming from a long spell. At his second run back, he won at Terang then was a close second at Geelong before running fast time to beat a strong field at Terang ten days ago. Rate him highly. Ex-Kiwi EXPLOSIVE TURK (3) was placed in strong fields at his first two Aussie starts, then found the lead when winning nicely at Cranbourne last week. He s improving all the time and rates an each way chance. Former top filly MYSTIC HUSH (4) resumed from a long break with a close second to rising start Hei Gift a fortnight ago then had no luck here from the second line last week when wide in the last lap and making late ground. She ll be much fitter for those two runs and looks hard to beat. SUNSET TRUSCOTT (3) has a terrific recent record on this circuit. A winner here in November, he s been placed a multitude of times here in recent months and certainly wasn t disgraced in the recently completed Dullard Cup series. This draw suits him and he s sure to be in the finish. THEPOWEROFHEALING (12) is a talented mare who won and was placed here and at Moonee Valley back in August/September before going for a spell. She was declared a non-runner after being denied a fair start in the recent Shepparton Trotters Cup and last week ran fast times from a back mark when finishing off in 57.4 in an impressive Shepparton trial success. SI CAPISCO (13) is in peak form. He comes off all the way victories in the Ararat Trotters Cup and when finishing off in 57.6 here last week, but goes back to 20 metres this time. A fast beginner, he ll be past many of these when they settle and is sure to put himself in the fight. Best of the others is LA MOSCA (15), who raced well but without luck in the Dullard series and although back to 30 metres here, is dropping in grade big time. Ratings: 4/3/12/13,15/5/1,7,9,11,14? At her first run since handy efforts in the Breeders Crown series, she was badly held up and most unlucky when a close sixth to Ultimate Under Fire in a strong 4YO affair here last week, will be fitter and looks nicely suited against her own sex. AYU GYPSY (5) hasn t started since beating a strong field in a $20,000 3YO affair in fast time here back in August but was a recent impressive Kilmore trial winner an has bright prospects of a first up victory. KAMWOOD HOLMES (2) won at her first three Australian starts, the latest of those at Ballarat three weeks ago, then weakened after a tough trip here last week. She may be straight in front this time and will be hard to run down. GOLDEN SHOWGIRL (7) was one of our better juveniles a couple of seasons back, won four races but didn t really race to her best last term, but has impressed winning two of three since resuming and grades nicely at this level. SAFELY LOADED (1) is an honest mare who rarely runs a bad race and from this alley, is a must for trifecta takers. Ratings: 6/2,5/7/1. OUR FALCONS A TACT (5) was having his third run back from a spell when he led and was cut down late at Geelong last Monday night and he may be in front again here. WALSHY (9) has only raced three times for a debut second at Bendigo, then back-to-back wins on that circuit, leading in all of those runs. From this trailing draw, he ll position just off the pace and looks the only other possible winning hope. Ratings: 6 / 5, 9 / 8 place only.
