SUNNY ELEGANT (5) has returned from a spell in fantastic form with three wins and a second at her past four starts. Her only defeat this season was behind THE WINDSURFER (6) from behind the mobile but she is better drawn this evening so she can turn the tables. EARLDOM (3) is a very consistent trotter that won under the standing start co0nditions at Harold Park on December 18. He finished well behind SUNNY ELEGANT (5) last week and rates as an each way chance. RAYLEIGHS CROWN (2) is likely to lead out then take a trail so he is a definite place hope at longer odds. BLUEY MAHONEY (7) looks suited against this opposition but lacks early pace and couldn't have drawn worse than the outside of the front line draw. He finished fast for an eye-catching second to the smart pacer Vegas Bound last outing so he will take holding out if he receives the right run in transit. OUR WINSOME HANOVER (2) is a fast beginner from the mobile and is the likely leader. He disappointed after leading last time but this race is slightly easier and he should run a forward race. BELEPHERON (4) has been unplaced at his past four starts but he did run his first half in an extremely quick 54.9 seconds when fifth last time so he is a possible improver. BIG BAD SHADY (5) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and is a value hope. She can be risky at times and might not be suited at Harold Park but she has the ability to give a bold showing. MERRYWOOD DUCHESS (8) is an honest mare that gets into this race with a concession claim. She finished solidly for third in a similar race last time and is worth consideration. KIEWA VALLEY (2) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and hasn't had much luck in recent times. She is nicely drawn and is ready to break through for a win against this class. BURNING STATURE (1) got a long way back from an awkward draw last outing and finished fairly well in the latter stages. She has built up a good strike rate and should make her presence felt from the pole position. BYLONG ASTAR (6) is capable of showing up in this open betting event. He is much better drawn this evening and should go well. ESPRIT DE KAYJAY (5) is a smart 5yo that has won 15 of his 35 starts and will find this race easier than his latest eighth behind Karloo Mick in the Young Cup. He possesses gate speed and recorded a slick mile rate of 1.54.9 when he won at Menangle two starts back so he must be respected. SPECIAL ALBERT (8) is a short course specialist and would be suited to being drawn on the front line but he is worth an investment against this class. He has the perfect trailing draw behind the fast beginner VEGAS BOUND (2) and should take beating. VEGAS BOUND (2) is a fast beginner from the mobile and has built up an exceptional strike rate. This is his toughest test to date but he is drawn to make his presence felt. MAUDIE (8) is racing in career best form having been placed at her past six starts. She finished determinately to beat New York Fashion in the Ranji Bill Stakes at Menangle last outing and is capable of overcoming the awkward barrier draw. GENUWINE (11) broke stride momentarily and recovered in the straight when he ran into a dead-end in the latter stages at his latest luckless fifth. He has a terrific turn of speed and should be running home strongly at the finish. He finished fast to win the Mount Eden Championship on Miracle Mile Day at his latest appearance and is clearly the horse to beat again. DON FRANCO (2) ran a game second to the smart pacer Rockets Reject at Bathurst and scored at Penrith prior. He has a consistent record and is a strong pacer so he is worth an investment. KIMBERLY STREET (8) has only missed earning a cheque once in her past nine starts and was runner up under similar conditions last week. She has the perfect trailing draw and should run her usual honest race. ANG DILINGER (7) worked to the line well last week and is a place chance while LORD BRONSON (4) occasionally bobs up at odds when competing against this class. He worked hard and was beaten narrowly last time so he is capable of going one better here. TIAMOUR (8) places more often than he wins and looked a big winning chance at the 50m but couldn't get past Deadly Handsome last week. This looks to be a suitable assignment for him so he is worth thought on an each way basis. SPECIAL OPERA (1) is likely to be trailing the likely leader and favourite APPEAL A LOT (2) over the sprint distance so he should receive every chance. He is the winner of 13 of his 22 starts and endured a tough run after striking trouble in the Inter City Pace Final last week. The former New Zealand pacer TORBRAE (8) had no luck and finished unplaced in a heat of the Inter City Pace on his Australian debut then won comfortably last week. He is perfectly drawn to trail the leader throughout and he looms as the main danger to DEADSETLUCKY (1). FRANCO LADERMAN (9) is rising in class on his latest victories at Menangle and Penrith but he has the ability to take the next step forward and rates as an each way chance. MARCHMONT DRIVE (7) couldn't have drawn worse than the outside of the front line but has been hitting the line well in his recent efforts in Victoria so he is a definite place hope. He has had two runs back from a break and will be ready to show his best. NOAHRILEY (3) found Captain Courage too strong for him at Mt Gambier after two runs ago after having a soft trip then he held his own for third behind Jilliby Cougar at Terang in what was just dash home. She is the class factor and will go close. WAIKARE SUN (7) has always had his share of ability and he is starting to put it all together of late. He charged home for a narrow third behind Out All Night at Bendigo last start and if he behaves himself he'll trouble these. He will find this much easier and is to be respected. SANDMAN FANTASY (5) was enormous in defeat at Horsham two back in track record time then she pulled hard in the chair and her effort to finish fourth to Greysteel in ballistic time at Ballarat was meritorious. She'll be up on the pace again today and will be a force. JONTY BROMAC (6) has a hope on the strength of her all the way win at Shepparton two runs ago. UBRINGTHEDRINKS (9) is a talented guy who led all the way at Mildura prior to going for a break. He resumes off the back of a soft Maryborough trial win 12 days ago and he'll get a beaut run through from the draw. VALERO (2) sprint laned to victory at Geelong last start in pretty good time.
