She finished fourth here a fortnight ago at her subsequent run, battling on okay from the one-one when they were motoring home in a fast 56.5. Her gate speed should carry her to the early lead here. INDIGO BAY (5) stormed home from near last to win back-to-back races at Maryborough and Ballarat before a close third to Ultimate Under Fire at Tabcorp Park when narrowly beaten at the end of a 56.6 last split. Watch for his booming finish. DUAL AGENT TABMAN (2) did well when a tough death seat third in a strong Maryborough stand when resuming last weekend, and will be improved by that run. He was a handy three year old last season and looks well up to this company. ARTORIUS (1) mixes his form. He won by a big space when resuming at Echuca back in November and has won at every second start since, the most recent of those when working to the lead here eighteen days ago and running a fast 1:56.6 for the sprint trip. He sat mid-field and battled on nicely when third to Golden Showgirl here at the latest meeting and finally draws a decent alley. Next best is LAND OF PANAARM (9), who won at Warragul, then went back-to-back at Cranbourne. He s up in grade but improving with each rise in class. FOUR WISE MEN (6) is honest and has place claims at least. Ratings:4/1,2,5/9/6. Suggested bet: Flexi trifecta 1, 2, 4 and 5 to win, 1, 2, 4, 5 and 9 for second, and 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 9 for third. $32.00 gets you 50% 2 Star FM Pace Final 7.00 1650m. $7000. ROOM WITH A VIEW (3) was having her first run back from a spell when finishing strongly from mid-field and rating 1:56.4 to beat ZITZU (6) here a fortnight ago, while MACH CLASS (4) won the Kilmore heat after a cool drive by Greg Sugars where he watched the leaders run a 28.0 split down the back the last time and charged past them in the home straight. ZITZU (6) was placed first up at Geelong, then did all the work in the breeze when beaten a length in that fast heat here by ROOM WITH A VIEW (3) and with luck, can upset the other pair. Each way chances to OLD WARANDYTE ROAD (9), who won three races last term and will be improved by four runs this time in; and CENTONIC (10), who won at his first two starts, then had no luck after a tough trip at Maryborough before flying out and working to the lead in a 27.7 first split before succumbing to fourth in his heat here. DAHLONEGA (11) is one for longshot punters. Ratings:3/4/6/9,10/11. Suggested bet: Box quinella and trifecta 3, 4 and 6. 3 Schweppes Pace Final 7.30 2150m. $7000. BULLY MURPHY (3) followed some consistent form with an all the way victory from this alley at Maryborough where he staved off a late challenge from KREMLIN (9), who d sat behind him. He looks the one to beat with KREMLIN (9), who s prior form at Albury was sound, being one of the dangers. KENTUCKY JASPER (10) sat in the one- one and was doing his best work late when third in that Maryborough affair and that continued his good run of form since debuting with a placing at Nyah in early November -- he s now had eight starts for three wins and five placings. ROBBOS RETREAT (5) looked good in an easy first up Ballarat victory a month ago and comes off a close second to Ice Ice in a country front affair at Tabcorp Park, and a death seat third in the other heat to all the way winner SKY SALUTE (6). Splitting that pair was DANISH KING (7), who fought on well after having the run of the race, and that trio make up the balance of the winning chances. Ratings:3/10/5,9/6/7. COASTAL (8) led all the way to win at Tabcorp Park early last month and comes off a close second there to Just Wal, an all the way Echuca victory, and a close and luckless sixth when beaten a length by Mr Feelgood in the New Year Sprint at Tabcorp Park last weekend. This is a big class drop for him and he should get a soft trip behind likely leader IM SAFELY HOLM (1). BORIS BADENOV (10) ran an excellent fourth in the New Year Sprint where he was left in the breeze when Sammy Maguire found the lead - he fought on well to be beaten a length into fourth placing. He s tough enough to handle his awkward draw. WATTABOUT JASPER (5) grades well on his best form. A seven time winner last season, he was having his first start since a Tabcorp Park second in October when beginning badly and never a factor in the standing start Ararat Cup a fortnight ago. He looks much better suited here and will be fitter for that run. IM SAFELY HOLM (1) is a consistent animal who s won 6 of 13 this season. After handing up the lead to Hollywood Bromac when beaten a metre by that in-form pacer at Tabcorp Park two starts back, a change of tactics paid dividends at Ballarat last weekend when he held the lead from this alley and staved off all challenges. He looks nicely suited here over the sprint trip. That quartet rate clear of VINTAGE JAG (2), who ll be improved by a couple of recent runs, and LOMBO ALLIANCE (6), a Tabcorp Park winner two starts back who had no luck there three weeks ago at his latest run. LAST ONE VANCE (3), MIAMI ROCKET (4) and CHRISTIANS DAUGHTER (7) are also in the mix. Ratings:8/1,5,10/2,6/3,4,7. Suggested bet: COASTAL (8) to win. 5 Aldebaran Park Maori Mile 8.30 1609m. $20000. By far the best two horses in the race are ACACIA RIDGE (10) and RONERAIL (7) and although they draw awkwardly, their class should carry them through. ACACIA RIDGE (10) was as good as any squaregaiter around a couple of seasons back but injury problems have dogged him in the interim. He showed a good return to form when leading and cut down late in both heat and Final at the Dullard Cup recently at Tabcorp Park -- it took Don King a sprint lane run and a 57.3 last half to beat him in that Final. He trails some early speed and may be in front of his main rival RONERAIL (7) when they settle. RONERAIL (7) was luckless when third in the Bill Collins Sprint to Skyvalley in 1:56.4 at Tabcorp Park three starts back, then drew awkwardly when finishing just behind the placegetters in the Dullard Cup heat and Final. His was a giant run in last week s final to finish as close as he did as he pulled ground off them from miles back in that fast last lap. SOLAR ACTIVE (6) followed a Yarra Valley Trotters Cup victory with a SA Trotters Cup success last weekend and he leaves the gate well enough to be in contention here over the sprint trip. Chris Lang has a strong hand with KYVALLEY MAC (4), who was placed twice at Tabcorp Park before his third in the Cranbourne Trotters Cup (luckless in two recent Melton outings), and GROOVY BROMAC (1), who d been going well in the country before a tough death seat second at Tabcorp Park last week to Si Capisco, where he just failed at the end of a 57.6 last half. He s never raced from behind the mobile. CONQUER ALL (2) and IN PURSUIT (9) are the upset material. Ratings:10/7/4,6/1/2,9. With pole marker STERITA (1) likely to be driven with cover, he should find the top with the sprint-laning STERITA (1) perhaps his main danger. STERITA (1) has won seven races this term and was luckless last week from an awkward second line draw. Each way chances to LUMINOUS LOMBO (10), who s not far off a win at this level; and ROJEN CRUZ (12), who s won five of his last six in country areas and faces his toughest test to date. MR FEELGOOD (12) was a comprehensive winner of the New Year Sprint at Melton last week when coming from the extreme draw and out-staying them. He looks to be somewhere near his peak and although drawn awkwardly, this Hunter Cup and Inter Dominion winner from last season is the class runner. NOTASWETHORT (10) is a wonderfully consistent gelding who upset a similar field in the Victoria Cup Consolation at Tabcorp Park last month before placings in the City of Launceston FFA, the Tasmania Cup, the Young Cup when sitting in the breeze outside Karloo Mick, and in last week s Horsham Cup when coming from miles back in that standing start affair. Douglas should have him poised just off the pace from this good trailing draw and he has a great each way chance. MISTER SWINGER (2) will be vastly improved by two runs from a spell. The winner of last season s Cranbourne and Ballarat Cups, he came from well back when narrowly beaten first up by SAMMY MAGUIRE (1) at Tabcorp Park a fortnight ago, then was never a factor from an awkward draw behind MR FEELGOOD (12) there last week. He s ready to run a big race and has the draw. SAMMY MAGUIRE (1) sat in the breeze when holding off MISTER SWINGER (2) at Tabcorp Park two starts back, then found the lead over the sprint journey when outstayed late by MR FEELGOOD (12) there last week. From the pole, Gavin has the choice of leading or using the sprint lane, whichever way, he should be in the finish. The Tony Peacock trained pair of POWER OF TARA (4) and OHOKA NEVADA (7) raced well in a recent Hobart visit and both have claims although not drawn all that flash. Each way chances to TI VOGLIOBENE (6), who ran a big race when placed in last week s SA Cup, BROADWAY PLAY (9), who s one of Australia s top mares; and the inconsistent KARLSRUHE (11), who could win this if he put his best foot forward. BELLS AND WHISTLES (7) was in the top echelon of our juveniles last season, winning eight of twelve, and his two Tabcorp Park runs last month were terrific efforts from awkward alleys. A recent Geelong trial win should top him off for this and he s ready to be driven aggressively. JAR ZINYO (1) mixed it well with the likes of Renaissance Man, Chariot King and Two Eye See in top races last season and he resumes off an easy Bacchus Marsh trial win. He draws for first up success. The query runner is ex-Kiwi FLYING HUNTSMAN (5), who was an impressive Addington winner back in October and placed at Ashburton after that. He s a tough staying type who looks certain to measure up at this level. HEZA PANAMACH (4) was a debut winner at Ballarat last weekend where he overcame a mid- race mistake and charged home to win impressively. Rate him highly. SNAPPY POP (7) is a speedster who recently ran a slightly easier field than this off their feet here a month ago, then wasn t quite as well suited in mobiles at his next two before overcoming an early mistake and producing a brilliant mid-race sprint to win from the stand at Cranbourne nine days ago. BARNEYS INVASION (6) was having his second run back from a spell when charging home for second in a Maryborough mobile last Monday and this locally trained performer looks nicely suited. OUT ALL NIGHT (1) looked good in his win here a fortnight ago before only battling at Shepparton during the week, but he draws nicely this time and is sure to be a force.
