Started from inside the second row two weeks ago and showed versatility to finish on strongly after being wide in the latter stages to score. EXPRESS DASH (4) started favourite on Monday and after sitting in the death compounded over the latter stages but previous effort when second behind the former was good as he showed dash before being run down. Pole horse SINOPLI (1) is likely to find this an easier proposition than a 10th in the SA Derby after solid run against her own sex in the OakS previously. KORUNYE KID (5) ran a career-best when 3rd behind Renaissance Man in the Derby. He had a soft run behind the leader on that occasion and has a tougher draw here but the winner is a star in the making and they did rate 1,58.6 for the 2230m. TRIPLE AY (6), although only a narrow winner on debut at Port Pirie should be all the better for the experience. One to follow with a degree of confidence. DUCHESS OF DUBAI (10) ran in under pressure when 3.7m 4th to Maximus Merv in 1609m Menangle C0/C1 Jan 4. Normally gets away cleanly so from 10m behind should quickly put herself into the picture. STEFANJAZ (11), while not having won since March of 2008 put in a strong effort when wide last start and doesn t need much improvement to run into placings. PUGSLEE THE PONY (9) showed improved form most recent start when he led and was just run down. Previous efforts had broke but if he trots is a chance despite coming from 20m. Former Kiwi SUSUWE (5) has improved with each local start and comes under notice while pole horse PINEVALE ADAM (1), might not be suited by the draw but should be handy and put himself into contention at some stage. SELECTIONS: JOULE COUNT (8), Susuwe (5) Pinevale Adam (1), Stefanjaz (11) 7 Pace 9.22 1800m. $4500. He was never in doubt after leading, but this is a little tougher. HEZA STREET KID(8) has shown a lot of scrap in four SA starts since coming from NZ. He might have to drop out and do it tough again, but include in the winning hopes. Former WA runner VILLAIN(9) looked a nice horse winning at Pirie last week in 2:00.6 for the mile. This is a decent step up, but must include. AMERIKEPT(1) is racing well on Northern tracks and not the worst off this draw. CHESTER CANNONBALL(5) has been consistent of late and can fill a place, while BELLA BOUDICCA(7) had every hope when resuming a fortnight ago, but can go better and will be good odds. This is just the sort of race where HANNANS(10 pops up at a juicy price so include in the multiples. This is a big class drop and his previous form is excellent for this type of race. He won a claimer four starts ago, after working to find the death, and then ran well behind Campbell Wallace from the stand. CULLENS HOPE (1) finished in front of BLADE OF GLORY and not far behind Scruffy Murphy on the weekend. His form has been solid without winning since resuming and he won t be far away here. He s yet to win from the stand but has run well under those conditions. SEAFIELD CULLEN (3) has similar form reference and a handy draw but no stand form, while BAYLISTIC BOY (7) should be respected on his Perth form. He s had only one unplaced go from the stand so not sure how he will handle it. Place chances to SICKLE MOND (8), MYTHICAL BEAST (10) and MATTER OF INTEREST (4). Last week he was taken on in front and still posted a class record for the 1800m, rating an impressive 1.56.3. Biggest danger looms as MEGA HAUL (5), who was fourth behind RYANS JOURNEY last weekend after being restrained at the start and forced back to along the pegs. Hasn t won since November but with a good run in transit can bounce back. Another who looks a strong challenger is COCOLOSAL (2), who put in a massive run to win last week. She locked wheels and was tailed off at the bell before coming with a wide run to get up. Is much better drawn here and if luck goes her way should feature in finish. JENNAS BEACH GIRL (1) put in a good third last week at odds and from the pole can either lead or take a sit.
