Fitter for recent racing and is proven in this distance range; has the figures to be in the finish. Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 HARNESS RACING RACE 3 Horsham Cup Sunday Pace 6.03 TOP PICK: Talented Kiwi gelding MAH SISH NZ (2) will find this a huge class drop from recent efforts when fourth in the New Zealand Cup and second to Caribbean Blaster last time in the Victoria Cup and from the draw, he'll be mighty hard to beat. DANGER: HALL OF FAMER (1) draws to spoil the party for MAH SISH NZ (2) as he has brilliant gate speed which he used when narrowly beaten by Mustang Mach (Excel Stride third) in a Breeders Crown 4YO Heat back in August. His two runs from a spell should have him fit and ready to perform at his best and he'll be hard to run down. OTHERS: OUR BLACKBIRD NZ (12) caught the eye with a fast finishing second to Ubringthedrinks here a fortnight ago when running his last mile in 1:53.7, and with luck from the awkward draw can cause an upset. WASHMEPOCKETS NZ (5) sat in the breeze when a gallant third to Matty Chrimes here two starts back, then was huge in defeat when a close third in the Cobram Cup last week after giving them a long start after missing away from the stand. VERANJEE (11), who was a close fourth at Cobram, looks best of the others. RATINGS:2/1/5,12/11. SUGGESTED BET: Each way HALL OF FAMER (1). RACE 4 #goodform Pace 6.40 TOP PICK: A tricky race where PRINCEOFTHIEVES (5) might be the one. A Kerryn Manning trained five year old who's won seven of only ten starts, he looked good last season and well up to winning at this level. First up since June, he draws to be handy. DANGER: LATERRON (9) is a most consistent mare who missed a place for the first time in 14 starts when a luckless fifth here last week. She'll be fully wound up for three runs since a spell and drops in grade from recent runs. OTHERS: SUMMER ACE (2) covered ground when a close fifth here two starts back, then was a late finisher for fifth here last time and finally gets the draw he's been looking for. IM BARNEY RUBBLE NZ (4) won seven of his first eight starts before a Ballarat failure in October, then was first up on that track last week where he weakened after sitting in the breeze. His gate speed should come to the fore here and if in front, he'll run a bold race. OUR SON OF COURAGE NZ (6) has shown improvement recently and has a chance at winning his first race in more than a year. SHIFTING SAND (3) didn't fire when resuming at Ballarat last week but had good form against better than these last time in and improvement can be expected. RATINGS:2,4?5?9/6/3? SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Box trifecta 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 9. $30 gets 25%. RACE 5 VHRMA G Goffin Memorial 7.10 TOP PICK: Outstanding mare BELLAS DELIGHT (9), who won eight on end last season before having her winning streak snapped when a luckless third in the Breeders Crown 4YO Final, worked hard mid-race to the breeze for an impressive first up victory at Shepparton a fortnight ago and from this good trailing draw, should settle close enough to beat some talented opposition. DANGER: NATIONAL GALLERY NZ (6) has a good record in these races, in fact a good record overall as she's won 11 of 26. Her latest effort was a gallant third when coming from well back behind Blucolla Tigerpie here five weeks ago, running her last mile in 1:54.5, and she may be driven for speed this time. OTHERS: PEMBROOK CAESAR NZ (3) is unbeaten in all six starts since coming from NZ and takes every class rise in her stride. This is her toughest test to date but she draws better than her two major rivals and looks well up to it. ART SHADOW (1) had been in the doldrums for some time before firing to the lead and running the fastest ever last half at Mildura (56.8) to score impressively there last week, and is a classy and speedy mare who'll be hard to run down or hold off depending on whether she leads or takes a trail. RATINGS:9/3,6/1. SUGGESTED BET: BELLAS DELIGHT (9) to win. RACE 6 I Can Doosit Trotters FFA 7.40 TOP PICK: VULCAN NZ (5) won last season's Dullard Cup before going home to New Zealand where he was winless earlier this term. His two runs since returning have resulted in a luckless Bill Collins Mile fifth at Cranbourne, and a close second to I Didnt Do It in the latest version of the Dullard Cup here three weeks ago. He has gate speed, will probably find the top, and whichever way, will be mighty hard to beat. DANGER: MISTER ZION NZ (9) ran a terrific second after a tough trip in the Bill Collins Mile and was well in the betting when putting himself out of contention with an early mistake here in the Dullard. He draws to settle just off them and with no bad luck will be in the finish. OTHERS: ALEPPO SUNRISE (3) out-finished I Didn't Do It to score under these conditions here three starts back, then was luckless from second line draws in the Bill Collins and Dullard. A return to the front line is what he's been looking for. SAVE A SIXPENCE (1) who led all the way to win an Inter Dominion heat this time last year, hasn't fired since but will be improved by one run from a spell and can cause an upset from the draw. Also in the mix are big improver LIGHTNING JOY (8), who has his first taste of FFA racing; and old timer EARL OF MOT NZ (10), who's going better than his formline suggests. RATINGS:5,9/3/1?8,10. SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 3, 5 and 9 to win and run second with the field for third. $24 gets 50%. RACE 7 New Year Pace Final 8.10 TOP PICK: Geoff Webster has a strong hand with the two top picks in this final of a series for which heats were run here last week. KOTARE ROLAND NZ (4) is an outstanding ex-Kiwi who's won five of eight this season with his only real aberration being when disappointing in a recent Menangle visit. He bounced back with a sparkling all the way 1:54.7 victory in his heat of this race here last week and looks the measuring stick. DANGER: OUR ARLINGTON NZ (10) also failed in that abortive recent Menangle visit for the Webster team, but was outstanding when sitting wide in the last lap and overpowering MARK DENNIS NZ (12) in the other heat, and although drawn awkwardly again, is getting back to the form that won him five races last season. OTHERS: D B DAZZLER NZ (1) is consistent at this level and will improve big time on his fourth from the breeze to OUR ARLINGTON NZ (10) here last week when resuming from a short break. A sprint lane trip behind the favourite could see him cause an upset. THE RAGPICKERS DREAM NZ (8) went slowly in the lead then finished off in 26.9 to win the other heat last week but draws a little awkwardly here and will have to rely on luck. MARK DENNIS NZ (12) is always a chance in these races and also has claims along with CUT FOR AN ACE (2) and to a lesser extent ALCHEMY NZ (7) and BURITON BAILEY NZ (9). RATINGS:4/10/1/2,8,12/7,9. SUGGESTED BET: KOTARE ROLAND NZ (4) to win. RACE 8 Garrards Trot 8.40 TOP PICK: MISTER ELWOOD (4) is a lightly raced five year old who's been in career best form recently. Placed here four starts back, he was then narrowly beaten by the outstanding Brunelleschi at Cranbourne, then worked to the lead when an easy winner here three weeks ago, before galloping when blocked for room at a vital stage here at his latest run. In a strong field of up-and-comers, he looks the clear top pick. DANGER: COLD SISTER USA (10) wasn't disgraced at FFA level before a tough second in last week's Cobram Trotters Cup and is a handy mare who's overdue a win. OTHERS: Another talented mare OUR DOLLY WOULD NZ (9) looks better suited than when unplaced recently here from the stand and is well in the winning mix as is handy four year old LOVEYOUGOODBOY (5), who returned to the winner's list with an all the way Bendigo mobile victory last weekend. DONKIRI (1), ORLANDOS DREAM (2), SANDYS BOY (8) and MONSIEUR DEVILLE (11) also have claims in what looks likely to be one of the better contests of the night. RATINGS:4/5,9,10/8,11/1,2/3,7. SUGGESTED BET: MISTER ELWOOD (4) to win. RACE 9 Renown Silverware Final 9.10 TOP PICK: Heats of this race were run at Yarra Valley on Boxing day and there look to be three major winning chances in this final. HEZA PRESIDENTE (3) was a heavily supported favourite from the second line there on debut when forced to work hard in the last lap and just failing to pick up ANOTHER ELSU (8), who goes to the second line this time. He'll be much improved by that outing and his draw is much better. DANGER: STUCK IN SECOND (13) was pressured in the lead when a fast 1:56.9 heat winner and is an improving four year old but he'll need all Greg Sugar's skill and expertise if he's to score from the extreme draw. OTHERS: LAVRA FLORENCE NZ (7) did a stack of work mid-race and fought on solidly after a 27.7 third split when runner-up to STUCK IN SECOND (13) at Yarra Valley and will be much improved by that, her second run from a spell. ANOTHER ELSU (8) sat in the breeze to win the slower heat and this time has the second line but has each way claims as do IRREFUTABLE (1), ACESNEIGHTS (2) and MAGIC ONE (10). RATINGS:3,7,13/8/2/1,10. SUGGESTED BET: Box quinella and/or trifecta 3, 7 and 13. RACE 10 SBG Accountants Pace Final 9.40 TOP PICK: DAYLIGHT DAN (10) is a handy Glenn Douglas trained four year old who's won five races and has looked good in two wins from as many starts this time in. He came from an awkward draw and off a wide trip to score first up at Echuca three weeks ago, then found the lead in his heat of this race at Yarra Valley last week and effortlessly raced away from LIFEZONE (3), who trailed him. The draw here isn't too flash but this fellow is improving with every run. DANGER: LIFEZONE (3) is an honest mare who won back-to-back races at Ararat and Hamilton before handing up to and battling on okay for second to DAYLIGHT DAN (10) at the end of a 56.4 last half in her heat and with the relative barrier draws changing in her favour, can reverse that decision. OTHERS: FUSION NZ (9) sat in the breeze for third in that same heat behind DAYLIGHT DAN (10) and it may be the same box trifecta once more. PUBLIC PERSUASION (6) had the run of the race to win the easier and slower heat from DICKY BEACH (5) and they look next best. RATINGS:10/3/9/6/5. SUGGESTED BET: DAYLIGHT DAN (10) to win. RACE 11 @mickpolster Pace 10.10 TOP PICK: DJBOUTI (3) comes off a tough Bendigo second, a close Gunbower Cup fourth to Veranjee and a luckless unplaced Yarra Valley Cup effort into an extremely winnable race and has the barrier draw as well. DANGER: IN MONACO NZ (6) worked hard in the breeze before finding the lead at the bell when a close fourth to Ubringthedrinks in a stronger race here last week and is overdue a win at this level. OTHERS: GUNS N ROSES NZ (5) has been well supported in recent runs but hasn't been able to break through. He's dropping in grade and looks extremely well suited here on his best form. Glenn Douglas has two strong winning hopes with FIRE IT UP NZ (2), who resumes from a good alley; and JORDYLAN (8), who closed late when just behind the placegetters here last week. NO ENCORE (1) is a sit/sprinter who draws to do just that. He made ground from the rear when third in a strong Albury affair last weekend and although now a 13yo, can win his first race for 18 months. RATINGS:3/5,6/2?8/1. SUGGESTED BET: DJIBOUTI (3) to win. RACE 12 Choice Hotels Trot 10.40 TOP PICK: EURASIAN HANOVER (2) is a talented mare who doesn't have much luck in her races. At her second run from a spell, she was well fancied but badly held up in the final lap when unplaced here last week but this time comes to the front line and is sure to be prominent. DANGER: SULTRY LADY USA (8) is a five time winner who'll find this easier than recent assignments. Runner up against better than these twice at Shepparton, she disappointed at Bendigo last week but drops back a grade after ten consecutive losses. OTHERS: PRETTYGIRL LASSIE (7) has plenty of talent but not the ringcraft to go with it. She was pushed to the rear, then flashing home late and likely to be in the finish when making a late mistake at Kilmore last Sunday and can beat these if she trots cleanly. Each way chances to MYGREEKKALESA (4), who disappointed last week here, and SHES A HEAD TURNER (5), who's been an improver since joining the Conroy team. RATINGS:2/8/7/4,5/3,9. SUGGESTED BET: EURASIAN HANOVER (2) to win. Tabcorp Park Melton continued TONIGHT Parkes Sprint Lane: No Daily Double: 5, 7 Quaddie: 4, 5, 6, 7.
