He won five races when last in work and the gelding should be at his top for this. He does look to have the class. DANGER: VITAL EQUALIZER (3) is racing below his best but he could improve on his latest form. He raced three back on the pegs and was held up for a run when 7th to Some Kinda Tactics 2100m mobile last Friday. OTHERS: BLACK N BETTOR (5) is always thereabouts. He has finished just behind the placegetters past two starts. SIR SWANKY (2) has the speed to be prominent for a long way. LORD ARTOIS (6) hasn't raced for 12 months however there is no denying his ability. MENELAUS OF SPARTA (4) continues to race well. He raced well when last in work and will command a big percentage of the market. He last raced September 4 when a 4m 2nd behind Arch On Fire 2503m stand. Q1 Q2 Q3 DANGER: WAIPAWA JUNIOR (1) has won his past two starts in good style. He led throughout to defeat That Is Correct 2100m mobile December 14 then again led when a 1780m mobile winner at Northam December 27. OTHERS: FELLAFROM LOCKSLEY (2) should encounter a soft run on the leaders back. SALLIWOOD (3) is an evergreen. She always gives her best and is always worthy of thought. He led and gave cheek when 3rd to Tuhimata Glass 1684m mobile Pinjarra December 17. The gelding produced a big effort after a bad getaway when 2nd to Keepyaguardup 2631m stand Pinjarra December 24. DANGER: TUHIMATA GLASS (7) has won two races since arriving in the West and he appears a leading contender. He enjoyed a soft run before defeating Makarewa Don 1684m mobile Pinjarra December 17. OTHERS: DON GUERRERO (10) has plenty of ability but his roguish manners always make him a risky proposition. KEEPYAGUARDUP (11) has turned the corner of late with four wins from seven starts this preparation. HOT HOLIDAY (12) has ability and will have admirers. ENJOY A MALIBU (3) can figure. Back from a hit and run raid in Victoria where he was used up early to lead then took a trail and lacked his venom late when 3rd to Caribbean Blaster 2240m mobile Victoria Cup. DANGER: LIVINGONTHEINTEREST (2) is an up and coming five year old who is unbeaten in six W.A. starts. He was too good for rivals 2100m mobile December 21. Nicely drawn but this will be his test. OTHERS: MYSTA MAGICAL MACH (8) is back in form. He breezed when a brilliant winner of the 1700m mobile Village Kid Sprint last Friday. SNEAKYN DOWN UNDER (7) worked too hard last Friday. TAB CODE W H TOUCHTONE 25 SKY RACING 1 TONIGHT HARNESS HOTLINE with JASON BONNINGTON HOT TO TROT GEOFF WEBSTER Melton Webster has a strong team at Tabcorp Park tonight. His best hopes appear to be with gun four- year-olds CHARLIE MACHSHEEN (R2, No.6) and KOTARE ROLAND (R7, No.4), but LETS SLASH AN BURN (R1, No.14), WASHMEPOCKETS (R3, No.5) and (R6, No.9) are sure to run well, with REAL HAMMER (R2, No.9) and OUR ARLINGTON (R7, No.10) given upset claims. MUST WATCH 1 5.33 TONIGHT: Melton, R2. Gun four-year-old Charlie Machsheen takes on Real Hammer and Fearless Leader in a cracking C1-C3. 2 6.03 TONIGHT: Melton, R3. Victoria Cup runner-up Mah Sish headlines an excellent M1-M2 to kick off the Big 6. 3 7.10 TONIGHT: Melton, R5. Bellas Delight locks horns with National Gallery and Pembrook Caesar in a terrific Graham Goffin Memorial. 4 7.40 TONIGHT: Melton, R6. Vulcan, Mister Zion and Aleppo Sunrise clash in the I Can Doosit Trotters Free-For-All. 5 8.10 TONIGHT: Melton, R7. Kotare Roland is the one to beat in the New Year Pace Final. OF THE BES with MICHAEL POLSTEST ER 1 CHARLIE MACHSHEEN WIN BET (R2, No.6, Melton tonight) 2 MAH SISH WIN BET (R3, No.2 Melton tonight) 3 KOTARE ROLAND WIN BET (R7, No.4, Melton tonight) 4 LAVRA FLORENCE WIN BET (R9, No.7, Melton tonight) 5 EURASIAN HANOVER WIN BET (R12, No.2, Melton tonight) Don't underestimate: Our Arlington could outshine his stablemate at Melton tonight. Arlington primed GEOFF Webster says punters may have to think outside the square to find the best of his runners at Melton tonight. Webster brings an in-form team to the meeting, headed by Mister Zion in the open trot. Mister Zion will have plenty of supporters in his bid to beat Inter Dominion runner-up Vulcan, with Webster willing to forgive him his last-start gallop. ''It wasn't his fault. He got squeezed up and had no chance,'' Webster said. ''So if the pace is on early he will get his chance.'' But while Mister Zion has developed a cult following since converting from pacing, Webster said his best chance was in the $15,000 New Year Pace Final. And not with the hyped- up Kotare Roland, even though he has a string of wins in recent starts. ''He is a lovely horse who will be a chance, but I think there could be a lot of speed in this race,'' Webster said. ''And if that is the case then my other horse, Our Arlington, could be just as good a chance, maybe even better. He loves it when they go hard and he can be saved up for one run, and even though it is a sprint trip, he might get the run to suit.'' Punters looking for an early bank builder need look no further than Mah Sish (R3, No.2), who almost unbelievably drops back to M1-2 company after a second in the Victoria Cup. Hot Horsham field A SECOND-LINE draw should not be enough to stop Smoken Up from starting favourite in one of the strongest country cups of the season, at Horsham on Sunday. The $3.2 million earner meets Hunter Cup winner Choice Achiever, old foe Melpark Major and in-form Decorated Jasper and will have to give them all a start after drawing two on the second line. But after a brave seventh in the Victoria Cup last start, where he poured the pressure on three wide, Smoken Up is still the one to beat. The meeting also features the $15,000 Trotters Cup and the ninth heat of the Platinum Mares Sprint Championships. Reactor return IT is hard to miss the irony in Auckland Reactor's return to racing at Cambridge in New Zealand tonight. The one-time pin-up pacer's career looks to be on its last legs, with trainer Mark Purdon jumping ship to partner young gun Smolda ($1.55 with TAB) in the $60,000 Flying Mile. That leaves Purdon's partner Natalie Rasmussen as the new driver for Auckland Reactor in the Group 2 event. Auckland Reactor almost certainly cost Rasmussen the 2009 Inter Dominion final when he over-raced badly and attacked Rasmussen's champion Blacks A Fake. Auckland Reactor ($9 fixed) could be heading back to Melbourne for next month's Hunter Cup as part of a 10-strong Purdon assault on Victoria. Others racing tonight who could be heading this way include Escapee and Dr Hook, who face off in tonight's open-class trot. And exciting three-year- old Ohoka Punter takes on older horses as he prepares for the Victoria Derby.
