He s trialled well at Maryborough in good closing sectionals and should be ready for this first up assignment. Normally a good beginner which should have him prominent throughout. Hard to beat. DANGER: PACQUIAO (7) lacks high speed but is very dour. He worked hard three wide at Terang and Geelong at his last two starts but never stopped trying. Poorly drawn here and he will need to do it tough again but sure to give you a sight. OTHERS: STORMY TARA (2) made his Aussie debut at Echuca last week and did have to do some work in the run. Fitter, include in multiples. ELSU DREAM (1) was placed over this trip last start. Ideally drawn and honest, trifecta chance along with STAR OF PARIS (6) and IMA LUCKY GUY (8) who went well first up from a spell here. SELECTIONS: DAM LUCKY (3), Pacquiao (7), Stormy Tara (2) Elsu Dream (1). RATINGS:3/7/2/1/8/6/9 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta: 3 & 7 to win, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 & 9 for second and third. A winner at his first two starts and was then spelled. He s resumed and finished runner up twice but chased home a top liner last start. Third run back from a spell should have him primed, the draw is tricky with his main dangers drawn inside him. Top chance. DANGER: COLBY REILLY (3) will strip fitter for his first up third at Kilmore after leading. Lightly raced and a nice type with improvement. Could take running down if he finds the lead. OTHERS: LUKE HOBBS (5) will be better for his first up third at Shepparton finishing behind MAJOR MEGS (6) after leading. One of the chances. Place chances to SINGED (1) from the perfect draw, STORMEE (2) and GOHARDGOHOME (7). SELECTIONS: MAJOR MEGS (6), Colby Reilly (3), Luke Hobbs (5), Singed (1). RATINGS:6/3/5/1/2/4/7 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta: 3, 5 & 6 for first and second with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 for third. ($30 gets you 100.00%). 3 Colt Fillies Flick 3.38 2150m. $5000. Forget his last run when he was overdriven and worked too hard. He gets a good trailing draw and this small field should suit. He ll be powering home at the finish. Top chance, but keep in mind he s still a maiden after 22 starts!! DANGER: TURNOVER (7) has won one race from 39 starts. Drawn wide draw but did lead from out wide last start at Maryborough when just grabbed near the line. This isn t any harder, should be in the finish. OTHERS: ELSIE LOBELL (3) finished third in that race and her last couple have been good enough to see her thereabouts. WITH GUSTO (6) was runner up twice before reasonable efforts his last couple. SELECTIONS: KISARTIS (9), Turnover (7), Elsie Lobell (3), With Gusto (6). RATINGS:9/7/3/6/1/4/8 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta: 7 & 9 to win, 3, 6, 7 & 9 for second with 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9 for third. He s a nice horse in the making and trained by a very talented trainer in Ian Dornauf and despite the draw he will be right in the finish. Hard to beat. DANGER: QUICK JET (5) will be improved by his first up third over this trip just before the new year. Gets a reasonable draw and looks one of the major chances here. OTHERS: DAGATI IMAGE (4) will be better for his first up effort for Glenn Douglas. Trifecta chances to BALLDALE (2) who will be fitter for a recent Shepparton trial outing, MANTAR (3) who won a recent trial here, MARY MON (6) who broke when resuming and ZEDAGUY (10) who led all the way for an easy Echuca win and should be running on. PAYA DUES (3) has won from the stand and his four runs from a spell have been very strong, particularly his last two wins. He looks the one to beat. DANGER: JUST LIVE LIFE (1) has the ideal draw but is having his first standing start race having just qualified recently at the trials. If he handles the conditions he will be very hard to beat. OTHERS: MY TEMUDJIN (5) a winner from the stand, he s tough and dour, looks well graded to be a major player in this. OHOKA COURAGE (4) was a top effort in track record time over the mile at Maryborough. Providing he handles the stand conditions expect another forward showing. She hasn t had much go her way recently and gets the ideal starting position to make her own luck. Won three on end prior to the break. Looks mighty hard to beat. DANGER: MAJESTIC REIGN (7) has won six of nine career starts, the last four from a spell for new trainer Ross Sugars. Super impressive last start when tested in the lead and fought off the challengers. Another test here but you can t do anymore than win. Looks the measuring stick again in this. OTHERS: IM NODDY (9) led all the way here last start in a quick closing half. Harder from the second row but don t dismiss. JOHNNY TEE (3) doesn t often have a lot of luck in his races but his last win was an easy one over this trip with Gavin in the cart. Definite chance. History: Smoken Up is after his fourth SA Pacing Cup. Tommy trip IN a big week of harness racing around Australia, the feature meeting in Victoria is the Bendigo Cup on Saturday, featuring the $50,000 Bendigo Pacing Cup and $30,000 Maori Mile. In a coup for the Bendigo club, leading New Zealand trainer Mark Purdon will have runners in both Bendigo features. Purdon will be represented in the Group 2 Pacing Cup by Highview Tommy, who last year won the Ballarat Pacing Cup, beating Smoken Up and Sushi Sushi. An outstanding stayer, Highview Tommy finished second in the NZ Trotting Cup in November, leaving Caribbean Blaster and Mah Sish in his wake. Purdon will start highly promising four-year-old trotting mare Escapee in the Maori Mile. Escapee won the NZ Trotting Derby and Great Northern Trotting Derby as a three-year-old, beating Cyclone U Bolt and Triumphant Monarch. Purdon hasn't been afraid to throw Escapee in against the big boys this season, with the Sundon mare pushing I Can Doosit, Stig and Sovereignty in recent runs. Hall admits error TRAINER Gary Hall Sr expects Im Themightyquinn to bounce back and win Friday night's $400,000 West Australian Pacing Cup, despite being beaten into fourth in a Free-For-All at Gloucester Park last Friday night. Sent out a $1.20 favourite, Im Themightyquinn was expected to dominate. But it soon became a nightmare for punters who had taken the short odds. Eased out of the early speed battle, Im Themightyquinn became involved in a lengthy jostling duel before settling last in the run. From there ''Quinny'' never looked comfortable and never threatened his impressive stablemate Livingontheinterest, despite making up late ground. It was the first time Im Themightyquinn has been beaten at Gloucester Park since November 2010, having won his past 18 starts at the track. Hall blamed himself for going too easy on the horse after his Victoria Cup placing. ''He was well underdone and was blowing really hard after the race, which isn't like him,'' Hall said. ''I won't make that mistake again and he will be spot-on for the WA Pacing Cup.'' Smoken goes for four SMOKEN Up will step out in Saturday night's $125,000 South Australian Pacing Cup at Globe Derby. Smoken Up will be aiming to join the legendary Gammalite as the only other four-time winner of the Group 1 event. Gammalite won the race four years straight between 1982 and 1985, while Smoken Up won in 2008 and again in 2011 and 2012. Smoken Up will have to overcome Victoria Cup winner Caribbean Blaster.
