A big improver when runner up at Maryborough at fortnight ago where she made two moves and fought on strongly, she looks ideally suited in this company and looks the clear top pick. DANGER: TOBINJARRA (3) began badly on debut last April then wasn t seen again until an impressive first up third here a fortnight ago when eased from a wide alley and running home strongly. He ll be much improved by that run and looks a likely type. OTHERS: MISTER PEPE (1) won races in each of his two and three year old seasons and will be improved by two runs as a four year old. He made mistakes from the stand first up then finished mid-field in a battling effort here last time, but from the pole he s sure to be a big improver against these. SELECTIONS: CHEVAUX RAINBOW (6), Tobinjarra (3),) Tobinjarra (1), Golden Photo (4). RATINGS:6/3/1/4/2?,8,9,10. SUGGESTED BET: CHEVAUX RAINBOW (6) to win. 2 Kilmore Florist 6.57 2180m. $5000. 3yo 3C0 To 3C1 PBD Mobile Heat 1 14s3 LUKE HOBBS Nathan Jack Fr 4.50 2 6s CLANCYS FOBWATCH Chris (Jnr) Lang Fr 26.00 3 5467s TENFOUR Ashley Matthews Fr 26.00 4 746s6 BENOAH Donna Castles (C) Fr 26.00 5 9s0 LIVIN LIGHTNING Rhys Nicholson (C) Fr 51.00 6 31342 EASY LIGHTNING Ahmed Taiba Fr 3.70 7 82 JOHNNY TSUNAMI NZ Christopher Shinn Fr 5.50 Second Line 8 13222 MAJOR CALIPSO Jason Hackett Fr 2.00 TOP PICK: MAJOR CALIPSO (8) has been terrific in all six starts this season and he looks clearly the one to beat. He scored in all the way fashion at Geelong five starts back before placings in strong races at Cranbourne and Melton, worked from the second line to lead when grabbed late by the promising Vanderley at Geelong, then put up an enormous effort to sit outside the highly talented Ginger Bliss when going down narrowly to him at Geelong last week. DANGER: EASY LIGHTNING (6) never runs a bad race. A Shepparton winner in October, he s had two runs from a short break for a Maryborough fourth to Ginger Bliss and a tough second in a hot Kimore affair and fortnight ago. OTHERS: LUKE HOBBS (1) has raced three times for an all-the- way Bendigo win in August and a Melton Friday night fourth when favourite after that. He was in need of the run when he led for an honest third to topliner Lennytheshark and Major Megs (winner since) at Shepparton recently, and will be improved by the outing. JOHNNY TSUNAMI NZ (7) was well supported but luckless on debut at Yarra Valley on Boxing Day, then produced a huge sprint in the last lap and sustained it to the line when coming from the rear and cut down late by Artique at Cranbourne last Saturday night. Four only winning chances. SELECTIONS: MAJOR CALIPSO (8), Major Calipso (6), Luke Hobbs (1), Johnny Tsunami Nz (7). RATINGS: 8 / 1, 6, 7. ANDYS FAVOURITE (3) was off the scene for more than two years before three unplaced runs from long backmarks then was an impressive and easy winner of a Maryborough heat of this series late last month, and he looks the yardstick here. DANGER: SAVE A SIXPENCE (6) is probably the best graded horse ever. If this race was run under automatic handicaps he d be coming from 210 metres behind and comes in a 100 metres light of that assessment. It s a big class drop from his recent two runs from a spell when disappointing at FFA level, but this fellow s last win was in an Inter Dominion heat last season and provided he can handle this style of racing, he ll be hard to beat. OTHERS: COST ME A QUID NZ (5) and OPTIMUM (7) have a good record in these races and are next best. SELECTIONS: ANDYS FAVOURITE (3), Save A Sixpence (6), Cost Me A Quid (5), Just A Cracker (8), Optimum (7). RATINGS:3/6?/5/7/4. She s yet to been unplaced in five tries from the stand, winning two of them. DANGER: VINNI GAMBINO NZ (2) similarly has been placed in all five starts from behind the tapes and comes off an impressive stand victory at Ballarat last week over handy performer Regal Knight OTHERS: STAGHORN FLAT (4) has won three of eight standing start tries and was placed in a strong stand at Melton last July before going for a spell. At his first run for five months he was luckless there three weeks ago and will be improved big time for that outing. DJIBOUTI (7) disappointed after finding the lead at Melton last week but here can be driven more conservatively from the back mark in this small field and will be doing his best work at the finish. Although drawn poorly, she has that touch of class about her. DANGER: MODERN LEBRON (5) debuted when an impressive runner-up in a heat of a Cobram series in November, easily won the final but then raced well below expectations when a disappointing fifth at $1.20 here a month ago. He s trialled well since and should be a worthy opponent for the favourite. OTHERS: PASS IT TO BILLY NZ (8) followed good Albion Park form with a strong Kilmore second recently and looks the other main chance with DRUNKEN DESIRE (4) also a winning hope. SELECTIONS: LA PUCELLE (7), Modern Lebron (5), Pass It To Billy Nz (8), Drunken Desire (4). RATINGS:7/5/8/4/6. He ll beat these. DANGER: MINTI CHOICE (6) resumed with three placings from as many starts in November, then was first up for five weeks when a battling third as favourite at Geelong last week and he ll be improved. OTHERS: GENERAL JUSTICE (1) showed ability in his first preparation back in July/August and has first up claims from the pole. Stablemate SPORTY MAC (3) is best of the others. DANGER: MADAM POM POM (6) is struggling to regain her outstanding 3YO form of late last season but it was an encouraging run from her when placed against better than these here last week. OTHERS: KRIPTONIK NZ (1) who resumes, impressively led all the way first up in a three start preparation back in October and has the good alley. DANGER: ACTION ROYALE (1) was responsible for a new Maryborough track record (1.54.8) when leading and understandably fading late to fifth last week and will be hard to catch if driven more conservatively. OTHERS: LIFESAVER LADY (3) found the lead from the back row at Cranbourne last Saturday night when breaking her maiden status and can repeat. All bar (7) can win. He looks like bouncing to the front once more today and will take plenty of running down. DANGER: EURASIAN KOSMOS (9) was the Black Booker from that same contest mentioned above as he really charged home into second spot behind KYVALLEY RAP (2) once he balanced up in the straight and is the logical danger again. OTHERS: WILDENSTEIN (3) would have won here last time out had he not have gone roughly with about 50m to go when second to Armed Guard and looks the other winning chance. DANGER: ONLY A COPY (1) resumes from a break today off the back of a moderate trial at Shepparton three weeks back but she strikes a very winnable race first up, draws to advantage and rates highly. OTHERS: NOLAGALILE (4) battled on OK into fourth spot behind Seca Dream at Mildura last week after leading at her first run back from a spell and is the only other possible. He would only need to produce a similar performance here today to go very close in this first up. DANGER: DUTTON WAY (6) comes off the Snowball series where he was placed behind Foldem in a heat at Maryborough two back before being outclassed in the final by Now Shezaterror and with the drop back in class he looks the main threat. OTHERS: ABSTRACTION (8) is always around the mark in these races and is given an each way show along with PACQUIAO (7). DANGER: TANNISSA (7) has gone off the boil a little since winning at Stawell five runs ago and will need to do some work in the run from the car park draw but she would only need to find somewhere near her best to be hard to beat in this. OTHERS: TARA TOM (2) is another who isn t going quite as well as he can but he gets his chance to improve today from the ideal draw. He may be the leader. DANGER: DUTCH HARB OUR (5) was game from a poor draw in track record time behind Ohoka Courage at Maryborough last start and with the death seat his position this time around he looms as the main threat. DANGER: Stable mate DAYLIGHT DAN (5) is also on debut from the standing start but seemed to handle it OK in that same Bendigo workout mentioned above and he too is a big chance in this with a safe getaway the form he is in at the moment. He comes up with gate 1 today, will lead or at worst end up behind the speed and he is the one they have to beat. DANGER: SARUM KNIGHT (9) is resuming from a long spell for Kerryn Manning and as is the custom with the stable he hasn t been to the trials but he is sure to be close to the mark first up and is the big watch. OTHERS: NOMIND (8) will be better for his first up fifth to Smooth Freddy here last start and draws to receive a cheap run on the markers so he rates as an upset chance along with HELLOVAPARTY (2) who was terrific last time behind Metro Mike at Maryborough.
