He started from the extreme draw last week so he should take beating from his good alley this evening. DANGER: CHARDANAE (6) gets into this race nicely with a concession claim and recorded a blistering mile of 1.51.8 when she scored on December 15. This race is easier than her latest fifth and she should be finishing strongly. OTHERS: NEWGATE (8) has performed very well in two starts for trainer Ian Wilson and finished strongly when a narrow second behind Sam Douglas last week. He is likely to get a long way back from his wide draw but he should be finishing well again. TIGER TINA (4) has had a few chances recently and led when sixth last week but this race is easier so a sharper performance would not surprise. OHOKA COLORADO (10) has struggled to produce his best form recently but has finished on well at his past two placed performances against easier opposition so he might be ready to run a big race. He does tend to race best when he is able to lead but he did come from off the pace when a big second in the Nick Robin Memorial on November 24. DANGER: KEYSTONE DEL (5) has been impressive since coming from New Zealand with three wins and a luckless second from his four starts. He dashed home in a quick final half when he won comfortably at Menangle last outing and is a winning chance again despite rising a little in grade. OTHERS: BILLY PHELPS (4) gained a nice trail throughout and burst through late when a big winner against similar grade last week. His best form has generally been at mid-week level but he impressed last week and must be given a winning chance again. RED SAMURAI (3) has finished strongly at his past two attempts and is a value hope. KING OF STRATHFIELD (9) boxed on gamely for second from the handicap of 30m on Saturday night and will make his presence felt if he delivers a foolproof display. There are many horses capable of filling a place if they receive the right luck in running. He is very versatile and will give a good showing against this opposition. DANGER: GOODAY STRIDE (1) also battled on well after using plenty of energy in the early stages of the Simpson Memorial and must be respected from the pole position. OTHERS: BLISSFULL GUY (6) possesses a good turn of speed and is a knockout chance if there is a genuine tempo in the early stages of the event. BEBRAVE (2) will be fitter after his two runs back from a break and finished fourth in the Australian Gold Final last season so he is worth an investment. This race is harder than last week but he has been placed at Group One level this season so he will make his presence felt. DANGER: GRAND STRIDE (3) is an extremely smart 4yo pacer, which worked hard and posted a 1.52.4 mile at his first run since August. He boasts an impressive strike rate and should prove hard to beat again. OTHERS: GOD SEND (1) and BETTOR BET BLACK (6) are both brilliant beginners from the mobile and are racing well enough to be competitive over the short trip. STIRLING POINT (8) was attacked when leading last week so he had excuses and ERLE DALE (9) might run into a place if he gains the right trail forward. He was outstayed by Grand Stride last outing but the mile was a brisk 1.52.4 so he should take beating against this opposition. DANGER: EXCITEUSINTHECITY (4) beat MANTOMAN (8) in a heat of the Christmas Gift on December 08 and is clearly the main danger again. He was disappointing in the run to the finish last week but that was his first effort in a month so he should be sharper tonight. OTHERS: MARQUESS DE POSH (6) is an outstanding mare when racing at her best form but she has disappointed in her two runs back from a break. She was held up for a run in the straight last week but she looked to be under pressure in the latter stages when fifth. She is awkwardly drawn but she can do better. HEZ THE ARTISAN (7) finished well for third last week and is a place chance again. SAM DOUGLAS (1) is stepping up in class but produced a big performance to win in a 1.54.0 mile last week so he is not without a chance from the pole position. He finished strongly for second behind the in-form pacer Global View in fast time last week. DANGER: HAWTHORNDEN (10) was resuming since a Menangle victory in September when he led throughout to win at Newcastle on December 21. He wasn't overly impressive in that performance but he should strip fitter and he has won eight of his past ten starts so he must be respected. OTHERS: RENEGING (1) is a smart mare when racing at her best form and battled hard to win the Temora Cup last outing. She is ideally drawn and should give a bold showing. SANDS OF DUBAI (7), ARDLE MCARDLE (8) and LENNYS IN HEAVEN (9) are all capable of showing up without surprising. She beat the in-form pacer Global View in a mile of 1.53.6 on December 22 and is proven at the 2300m so she should prove hard to beat. DANGER: THE BIG MACH (9) has won nine races at Menangle and will appreciate a drop in class for this assignment. He held his own in the latter stages when a close fifth behind Lous Lad in a standing start event last outing and should make his presence felt under these conditions. OTHERS: OUR TORIAS SECRET (8) had every chance after trailing the leader and eventual winner Baby Bling last week but the mile was paced in 1.52.0 and she is likely to find this to be an easier assignment. TORI JACK (1) returned to his best form with a victory over Tamanisha at Menangle last outing and he has the draw to gain a prominent position so he should give a bold showing. JULIUS BARDON (2), HIGH FLYING DIAMONDS (6) and PERFECT SHOT (10) are all worth thought in multiple combinations. He led and was surprisingly beaten when resuming but he bounced back with an easy victory at Wagga and is clearly the class runner of the field. DANGER: CALIFORNIA SUNSET (4) had an impressive 3yo term with four victories to his credit. He probably has performed a little below that level in four starts this season but he was runner up in a Country Series Final in December and endured a wide run at his latest fourth so he should be competitive. OTHERS: PITLOCHRY (5) is building up a very good record with eight wins from just fourteen starts. He missed out narrowly behind GEDS COURAGE (2) at Parkes last outing and scored impressively at Bathurst prior so he is worth consideration. PASHANA (12) finished a nose second behind CALIFORNIA SUNSET (4) at Leeton prior to a tough fourth behind Dance For Madi. She is awkwardly drawn but is going well enough to fill a place. Other place hopes include GEDS COURAGE (2), ON THE BUZZER (6) and HEY HARDY (9). He is drawn to obtain a prominent position again and should go well. DANGER: CONDAGEN (6) was in great form at the end of last season with a big win over the top pacer Chancellor Cullen at Menangle followed by a close second behind Magic Bliss in the Breeders Challenge Regional Final. He is starting to recapture that good form with a victory at Menangle last outing and he should make his presence felt. OTHERS: GALILEE (11) is a former New Zealand pacer that has only been defeated once in four local outings. He dashed out of the gate to lead and won comfortably in a 1.57.4 mile at Newcastle last outing so he must be respected. GREAT INVESTMENT (1) chased hard when second behind GIDUP SPANISH RED (3) at Wagga and is a minor place possibility. His past two efforts have been below his best but he won the Queensland Championship and Treuer Memorial earlier in the season and he is much better drawn this evening so he is worth another chance. DANGER: EXCEL STRIDE (5) was resuming since a second behind Caribbean Blaster in the Breeders Crown Final in August when he led throughout to win impressively in a 1.53.5 mile. He is an outstanding 5yo pacer and should take beating. OTHERS: PUB BLITZ (2) is steadily working back to his best form after his three starts back from a break and rates as an each way chance. He didn't have a great deal of room in the straight and finished well when third behind Terrorway last week. GLENGOWAN (1) endured a terribly hard run when sixth last week and is a place hope from the pole position. The grand old campaigner KARLOO MICK (4) and MACH WIPER (8) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.
