Trojan Bromac has since won which further franks the form out of the race. There is some pace drawn inside him but he doesn't have to lead to win. From the states leading yard in a tough race is probably the safe way to go. DANGER: SHAMROCK TANGO (11) just never looked like figuring here last week when down the track behind Bettor Still. His form prior was very solid and he did finish 2nd in the Xmas gift final to Livingontheinterest so he is most capable of figuring. OTHERS: SCUBA STEVE (2) is the query runner. He hasn't been seen since Sept 25 when 2nd to Shamrock Tango at Northam. Has always shown ability the betting may well tell the tale to his prospects. TROJAN BROMAC (8) was no match for BET THE MAX (4) at Albany the last time they met but as mentioned earlier he came out and won well at Narrogin defeating Knight Crusader. From the awkward draw he will need some luck but is capable of finishing over the top of them. FLIP THE COIN (10) will bob up one night soon but it just might not be tonight from this draw but he must be included in novelties. TAKEM EASY (1) is another who must be included in novelties as he loves Barrier 1. SELECTIONS: BET THE MAX (4), Shamrock Tango (11), Scuba Steve (2), Trojan Bromac (8) SUGGESTED BET: BET THE MAX (4) each way 5 Pace 10.50 2130m. $8000. Gave his supporters some anxious moments at his last outing when hanging on to defeat veteran pacer Stumpygullyroad here Jan 15. Had been unextended at his 3 previous runs one of which was the Wagin Cup. Will probably find the front from the draw and be hard to run down. DANGER: REBEL SCOOTER (10) is yet to taste defeat in 2 WA runs the latest of which was an impressive all the way win in the Northam Cup defeating Uncle Kracker. The draw is a blow to his winning chances but he should run the quinella and qualify for the final next week. OTHERS: RED SALUTE (2) bounced back to form Monday wining in fast time defeating Showdownatmidnight. He was disappointing at his start prior but from the good draw is a dangerous prospect. ELUSIVE COURAGE (1) has run some handy races of late and he holds a key to the race in that he will more than likely determine which horse leads. A must for novelties as he will get a beautiful run. SHOAB (9) was good here last week when placed behind Topnotch Dan and can be included in novelty calculations. SELECTIONS: WESTERN CULLEN (5), Rebel Scooter (10), Red Salute (2), Elusive Courage (1) SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN CULLEN (5) to win 6 Pace 11.15 2130m. $17500. Put them to the sword in the Albany Cup Jan 18 winning by a big margin. Then around the field off 20m handicap and looked to win with plenty in reserve here last week defeating Gday Mate. Has the perfect draw and looks set to lead all the way and makeit3inarow. DANGER: AUSSIE MADE LOMBO (10) absolutey flew home at her last outing when 2nd behind Clancy Maguire. Had a gut buster start prior behind Son Of Fergie in the Pacing Cup consolation and finished last as a result. Appreciated the softer run last time out and from this draw will be running on again. OTHERS: CODE RED (8) is ideally drawn and is a very capable type. Just couldn't round them up in the Nights Of Thunder series but did win his heat impressively beating Waipawa Junior. Could be dangerous late if he gets out in time. BETTOR STILL (2) was very game last week and despite the rise in class from the good draw has a novelty hope. REMEMBER EL (11) drops back from Free For All company to restricted class and has place claims. SELECTIONS: ADDA PATERNAL SUIT (1), Aussie Made Lombo (10), Code Red (8), Bettor Still (2) SUGGESTED BET: ADDA PATERNAL SUIT (1) to win. 7 Lord Mayors Cup 11.45 2536m. $35000. Game in defeat behind DASHER VC (10) in the Fremantle Cup here Jan 18 he was the Pacing Cup champion for the 3rd time at his start prior defeating CROMBIE (9) Jan 11. Still one of the best pacers in the land he needs to and will bounce back here. DANGER: DASHER VC (10) was just brilliant in his Fremantle Cup triumph over IM THEMIGHTYQUINN (3) leading throughout and withstanding pressure at various stages. Goes from barrier 1 to barrier 10 so the task is much tougher but he is a classy customer and the stable are in red hot form. Too good to dismiss. OTHERS: MYSTA MAGICAL MACH (2) has drawn to advantage tonight. Was an eye catching 2nd to LOMBO NAVIGATOR (8) here last week. Unplaced in both cups behind IM THEMIGHTYQUINN (3) and DASHER VC (10) but he did win the Celebrity Sprint Dec 28. He can never be discounted and will be in front for a long way. LOMBO NAVIGATOR (8) is a very classy type but has been dealt a blow with this draw and despite winning in open company last time he is only a place chance here. CROMBIE (9) is coming off a sensational 2nd to IM THEMIGHTYQUINN (3) in the WA Pacing Cup but he has had a setback since and has drawn the back line so he is likely to be a place chance only. His best hopes are with the unbeaten WASHINGTON HERITAGE (R3, No.11), talented Kiwi HUCHI FELLA (R4, No.8), quality mare ART SHADOW (R5, No.1), THE RAGPICKERS DREAM (R5, No.5), classy three-year-old MAJOR CAPITAL (R6, No.5), impressive last-start winner IMTHEGUY (R8, No.11) and star filly KOROBEIT ANGEL (R9, No.9) HARNESS HOTLINE with JASON BONNINGTON Fan favourite: Mah Sish has had widespread support for the Hunter Cup and Inter Dominion. Flash chance CRAN Dalgety's quest for Hunter Cup success has the support of punters, with Four Starzzz Flash well backed with TAB to win Australia's richest stand- start feature. Luckless in last weekend's Pure Steel at Ballarat, his first run in Australia, Four Starzzz Flash has been wound in from $8 to $7 since securing barrier four. Last-start Ballarat Cup winner Mah Sish remains in a deadlock for favouritism with Caribbean Blaster at $3.60. While the money has been spread in the Hunter Cup, it has been one-way traffic in the Victoria Derby Final, with Guaranteed backed from $1.70 to $1.65 after drawing barrier three. The TAB framed markets for all 10 races on Melton's Hunter Cup card within hours of fields being released and most interest has been in the Angelique Club Cup. An unofficial title fight for Victoria's finest mares, the 2240m affair features the return of Ladyship Mile- winner Broadways Best in her first outing for Emma Stewart. A solid $2.60 favourite, the seven-year-old will face former Kiwi mare Pembrook Caesar, who has been well backed to beat her ($3.80 to $3.30) after landing barrier four. Two-time Vicbred Super Series winner Bellas Delight ($4.20 to $4.60) and former gun youngster Louvre ($7.50 to $10) have been notable drifters. First 4 punters have also been taken care of by TAB with a $25,000 jackpot in the Hunter Cup, race eight on tomorrow night's card. Bending rules DIFFERING approaches to hard and fast rules were on display from Harness Racing Victoria and Harness Racing NSW this week, and both sparked headlines. HRV ruled Smoken Up (right) ineligible for the Hunter Cup after failing to adhere to a qualifying clause by not competing in a stand- start race in the past year. In NSW, Sushi Sushi was given more latitude when endorsed to contest a supplementary heat despite not qualifying under complex Inter Dominion conditions. Despite a firestorm of controversy early this week, HRV remained steadfast that Smoken Up would not receive preferential treatment because of his reputation. In contrast, NSW Harness Racing Club chief executive John Dumesny insisted that as custodians of the Inter Dominion, his team would use discretion when necessary to ensure the best field lined up for the grand final on March 3 at Menangle. The Inter Dominion story took a twist on Wednesday night when Sushi Sushi was ruled out for the rest of the season with an as yet unknown injury. The Inter Dominion landscape has changed significantly in recent weeks with Im Themightyquinn and Excel Stride appearing vulnerable after unexpected losses. Hunter Cup favourite Mah Sish has been the biggest mover since Inter Dominion markets were released, firming from $101 to $7.50 with TAB. Sunraysia shines WITH no Tabcorp Park meeting tonight, Mildura will take centre stage with their Invitation Drivers Championship. Conducted across races three, four, six and seven, the challenge will feature some of Australia's finest young drivers. Heading the list is local hero Shayne Cramp, Victorian Metropolitan Driver of the Year Greg Sugars and West Australian superstar Gary Hall Jr.
