DANGER: ILLAWONG JOYFUL (12) was most impressive winning at Ballarat first up from a break where she ripped home 55.9 from the front end and she was then sent to Melton to take on the better fillies but over raced badly in the lead and ended up out the back behind Dieing Secret. She has been freshened up for this and commands respect, bad draw and all. OTHERS: LUKE HOBBS (8) is awkwardly drawn and will need luck but he has the talent to test these so include him in winning thoughts along with PRICELESS GEM (3) who trialled well here recently, CLANCYS FOBWATCH (6) and BRAVE STRIDE (10). RATINGS: 2/ 12/ 8,3/ 6,10/ 1,4/ 11,7/ 9 SUGGESTED BET: ROGERS PASSION (2) to win 2 Warby St Butchery Wang 7.00 1690m. $5000. He does have the poor draw to overcome but his class should see him hard to hold out. DANGER: SON OF JULIA (2) ran an encouraging race on debut at Echuca 12 days ago when fourth to Mosquito Zephyr and with that run sure to improve him plus the nice barrier he should be dangerous. OTHERS: MAGIC ACE (4) didn't run a bad race at Echuca last start when fifth to Soho Eastwood from a bad gate and she goes in the mix here along with DIRECT ART (6), FLYBYENITE (10) and MOODEMERE (7). RATINGS: 11/ 2/ 4,6,10,7/ 5,3,9/ 8,1 SUGGESTED BET: FORBIDDEN FOREST (11) to win 3 Wangaratta Stockfoods Pace 7.30 1690m. $5000. DANGER: GESTURESTAR (7) resumed from a break with an easy Canberra success just over 2 weeks ago and she is sure to take plenty of benefit from that outing, as it was her first hit out for 6 months. She has the car park draw to contend with but this looks within her grasp second up. OTHERS: TROTTIN ROSSCO (9) and HOPPYJOE (6) look the only other ones in with a shot. RATINGS: 5/ 7/ 9,6/ 8,2/ 4,11/ 3,1 SUGGESTED BET: PONDER IN PARIS (5) to win 4 Wangaratta Stockfoods 8.00 1690m. $5000. She comes up with the coveted pole position tonight and although she takes on some handy performers she is still the one they have to beat. DANGER: ROAD TO ROCK (5) won 6 of 15 last season and was sent for a break after finishing down the track in the Breeders Crown Consolation behind Twilight Town last August. He hasn't been seen at the trials so it is hard to gauge where he is at but if anywhere near right he will make his presence felt. OTHERS: MISTER ORION (6) has some ordinary numbers next to his name but he has been competing in much stronger races than this and is not to be underestimated. OHOKA COURAGE (3) and CONFLICT OF INTEREST (2) will find this harder than their latest victories but must be included in winning thoughts. He has the car park draw to overcome this time around, not to mention a few handy types, but he is racing in great heart and looks well up to the challenge. DANGER: EZEE DUZIT LOMBO (9) raced well below her best at Menangle last time when out the back behind Angel Gabrielle but she has since trialled well at Mooroopna and on this circuit to get her back on track. Her form prior to that below par performance was excellent and she is sure to be a forced in this from the trailing draw. OTHERS: FUSION (2) was never in it behind One More Smile at Kilmore last time but he did win well at Melton before that so from the nice barrier he is given an each way show along with LOMBO RANMILES (3). RATINGS: 7/ 9/ 2,3/ 8/ 10,4,5,11/ 1/ 6 SUGGESTED BET: JUST LIVE LIFE (7) to win 6 J & T Joinery Wangaratta 9.00 1690m. $5000. DANGER: LORD RAPTOR (4) has been freshened up since winning the final of a C0 at Echuca from the front end 7 weeks ago and he has been livened up for this with recent trials at Elmore and Bendigo. He will push forward from the draw, race handy and should give MODERN VELOCITY (2) a run for her money. OTHERS: PENSICOLA (1) has ordinary numbers next to his name but he will get his chance to improve tonight as he looks like getting the gun run behind MODERN VELOCITY (2) and can be a sprint lane threat. OK TO FLY (5) and CORMONTY (3) are the next best. RATINGS: 2/ 4/ 1/ 5,3/ 12,8,11,10/ 6,7 SUGGESTED BET: MODERN VELOCITY (2) to win 7 Vhrsc Prov Cup Ht 1 9.30 2190m. $5000. She comes off the Central Victorian Pacing Championship series where she was game in defeat in her heat behind Restrepo and stepped it up a notch in the final with a gutsy second to that star pacer in the final at Charlton 16 days ago where she parked out and boxed on bravely in track record time. She meets two smart customers tonight but has never raced better and should go very close. DANGER: MY HARD COPY (5) was outclassed, but not disgraced by Macha in a heat of the Victoria Derby at Melton last start but he did run 1:56.5 to win here prior and although he is taking on the older horses this time around he will still be hard to beat. OTHERS: DOBOP (2) is in search of the hat trick tonight after Cobram and Echuca victories at her two runs this time in and she has the barrier draw advantage over her main rivals here so she looks a great chance of making it three on the bounce. WAYNESFIRST (9) and EARLS REIGN (4) have rough place claims. She switches back to the stand tonight but would only need to make a clean getaway to beat these. DANGER: SALUTE THE WIND (6) ended a run of outs when victorious at Bendigo last week where he finished off strongly and although he will find this harder he did beat home CHEVAUX RAINBOW (5) the last time they met so he has to be given a chance. OTHERS: RUBON BROWN (1) resumes from a spell tonight off the back of some moderate trial efforts of late, so it is hard to know where he is at, but he had handy form when last in work and cannot be underestimated first up. DARETOBEDIFFERENT (2), SILVER MEMORY (9), DOCTOR SAM (3) and DABBSEY (10) aren't totally hopeless either but will need things to go wrong for the favourite if they are to win, RATINGS: 5/ 6/ 1/ 2,9,3,10/ 7,8/ 4 SUGGESTED BET: CHEVAUX RAINBOW (5) to win Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 SHEPPARTON TRACK DETAILS Circumference: 1000m Straight: 200m SPRINT LANE OPERATES M1/C3 - Class of race (one metro win/three career wins). A dual winner since arriving in Victoria, the Mark Peace-trained son of American Ideal was seventh home in a heat of the Victoria Derby last start at Melton. That form reads incredibly well, given he will take on a C1 only at Quest Racing Complex this evening. Marked at $3 by Harness Racing Victoria form expert Michael Polster, My Hard Copy looks one of three winning chances along with Whata Avenue ($2.70) and Dobop ($3.20). Whata Avenue also drops dramatically in grade for the VHRSC Provincial Club Cup heat, having placed behind Restrepo at her past two starts. Hall Sr still upbeat DESPITE suffering a fourth defeat from his past five starts last weekend, Gary Hall Sr remains confident that Im Themightyquinn is in career- best form. The two-time Inter Dominion champion was brave in defeat behind Mysta Magical Mach at Gloucester Park, but many have speculated his form is tapering this campaign. However, it is not a view shared by Western Australia's leading horseman, with Hall Sr adamant his 11-time Group 1 winner is ready for another Inter Dominion tilt, beginning on February 16. A significant drifter in most Inter Dominion markets since failing in December's Group 1 Victoria Cup, Im Themightyquinn faces a steep challenge to win a historic third Inter Dom. Our Sir Vancelot and Blacks A Fake are the only other pacers to win three consecutive Inter Doms, with the latter going on to claim a fourth in 2010. Eyes on Sundons Gift COMEBACK legend Sundons Gift has added an unlikely element to March's inaugural Great Southern Star with an outstanding effort at Melton last weekend. More than nine months after his official retirement ceremony, Chris Lang's two-time Inter Dominion and four-time Australian Grand Prix champion returned in the Glenferrie Farm Trotters Cup. Taking on the might of star mare My Escapee and three-time Group 1 winner I Didnt Do It, Sundons Gift was expected to run on late without figuring in the finish. But his effort to charge home for second in a race that boasted the fastest lead time recorded for trotters at Melton was extraordinary. Sundons Gift is yet to qualify for the $350,000 Great Southern Star series on March 23, but with up to two wildcard invitations at Harness Racing Victoria's disposal, his place should be safe. Harness website a hit HARNESS Racing Victoria's Good Form blog will reach an exciting milestone this weekend, with its 100,000th visitor likely to arrive on Saturday night. A critical initiative spearheaded by Victoria's governing body to encourage punting on the trots, the Good Form campaign has been a great success since beginning last November.
