He can't be driven pretty at the moment but won't need to be here and unless RUSSELL GALLEON (7) is a star, he'll be winning again. DANGER: RUSSELL GALLEON (7) is a former Kiwi having his first start for Mick Stanley here today. He is a two time winner at Forbury Park and certainly has the credentials to test the favourite first up in Oz. OTHERS: HACKASHAQ (2) has never been far away from the better trotters of his generation and will give this lot something to chase if he can find the top early. JADEN GIL (3) is a place prospect at best. SELECTIONS: STEAL A SIXPENCE (8), Russell Galleon (7), Hackashaq (2), Jaden Gil (3) RATINGS:8/7/2/3/1/5/4/6 SUGGESTED BET: Quinella: 7 and 8 3 Comfort Inn Pace 2.57 1780m. $5000. 4yo & up C1 Only RBD Mobile 1 85s95 BROWN SPIDERMAN Michael Bellman Fr 21.00 2 883s5 POWERBOLT Michael Stanley Fr J2.00 3 s0958 LORD CHATERLIA Brian Gath Fr 26.00 4 92695 THE OPEN NZ (Em1) Nigel Milne Fr 5 08970 DANISH KING Kerryn Manning Fr 34.00 6 s0900 EMERALD PASS Gavin Lang Fr 51.00 7 s0987 HEZA CHIPOFTHEBLOCK NZ Chris Alford Fr 34.00 Second Line 8 17080 DOWNTOOLS Neil McCallum Fr 6.50 9 69793 EVIL TRICKSTER Ellen Tormey (C,cl) Fr 3.30 10 563s0 YOUR INVITED Greg Sugars Fr 12.00 11 s3030 BENALLY Grant Campbell Fr 9.00 TOP PICK: POWERBOLT (2) was first up from a four month spell when racing tough early and battling on strongly at Horsham last week. He looks a great chance of getting the lead from his good draw today and if that scenario occurs, whatever beats him will win. DANGER: EVIL TRICKSTER (9) is an eight-time winner who has showed glimpses of his best form in recent starts and will relish the drop in grade that this race represents. He is the other key winning hope in this for sure. OTHERS: DOWNTOOLS (8) recorded a strong Swan Hill victory five starts back and can show up again in this very skinny race along with BENALLY (11), LORD CHATERLIA (3) and YOUR INVITED (10). SELECTIONS: POWERBOLT (2), Evil Trickster (9), Downtools (8), Benally (11) RATINGS: 2/ 9/ 8/ 11/ 3/10/ 1/ 7/ 6/ 5 SUGGESTED BET: POWERBOLT (2) To Win 4 Vicbred Platinum 3.35 1780m. $7000. 4yo & up C0 Only RBD Mobile Heat 1 094s5 LOST FOREVER Nigel Milne Fr 12.00 2 28534 IMA LUCKY GUY Gavin Lang Fr 6.50 3 329s5 STARSCREAM Michael Bellman Fr 12.00 4 95782 GNOTUK Greg Sugars Fr 16.00 5 74657 KINGS BUSINESS Michael Stanley Fr 51.00 6 03486 DUTTON WAY Brian Gath Fr 26.00 7 761s3 MY BURNING DESIRE Mark Hayes Fr 16.00 Second Line 8 s65s7 PAGANS GIFT Chris Mallia Fr 34.00 9 0s68s MOJO MAC Scratched Fr 10 2436s INDULGENT Kerryn Manning Fr J2.50 11 68s23 BAZZAS ART Chris Alford Fr J2.50 TOP PICK: INDULGENT (10) is first up from a break off some inconclusive trial efforts but his form at the end of his last preparation, which includes a bronze medal effort behind Soho Valencia in a Breeders Crown heat, reads extremely well for this and he should be tough to roll if anywhere near his best. DANGER: BAZZAS ART (11) also has form at Breeders Crown level from last season and should be improved from two near misses in strong company so far this term. There could be some cat and mouse tactics from the back here and whoever wins that battle should win the race. OTHERS: IMA LUCKY GUY (2) lacks the class of the top two but might be worth including in your Quad if they both miss the boat while STARSCREAM (3) may lead and can lob a place if he does. SELECTIONS: INDULGENT (10), Bazzas Art (11), Ima Lucky Guy (2), Starscream (3) RATINGS:10/11/2/3/1/4/7/6/5/8 SUGGESTED BET: Quinella: 10 and 11 5 Decron Tontine 3 4.12 2175m. $7000. He is a blistering beginner who should cross to the top here and if he does it will take a monster performance to run him down. DANGER: ELJULIO (4) has a funny formline this campaign as he's looked a world beater in his two wins but broke up and didn't take part in the other two. If he produces his best here he's a winning hope as well. OTHERS: This is a very strong Tontine heat where sits-sprinter SIR JAYBE HALL (1) and the resuming SHARDS OF ICE (8) are both drawn for soft, dangerous trips and DAYLIGHT DAN (9) and FUTURE OPERATOR (2) are racing too well to ignore. He draws the car park here but has something on his rivals for class and should win regardless. DANGER: FLAXTON FILLY (2) is a more than handy mare with Tim Bolitho who hasn't been far away in recent starts and can be dangerous from her favourable draw OTHERS: SOLDIERS ART (1) is a bold frontrunner at his best that could not have drawn better here and may lead these for a very long way while JUSTABITOFFUN (9), TARA TOM (5) & GUVS BOY (8) are all each way chances if the breaks all go their way. This assignment is tougher but if can play the enforcer again, then he is the one to beat. DANGER: WHATA PUNT (4) was going for seven on the trot when pulling too hard in front and knocking up last start at Terang, His form prior to that was simply super and a return to the winners list here wouldn't surprise one bit. OTHERS: THE NOBLE STEED (5) has also been in a rich vein of form and he too can with this with the tight run in transit along with STEAM WASHED (9) a super mare that drops in grade form the Angelique Club Cup for this assignment. DANGER: WATERBOARD (9) was massive odds but not too far away in the same race as WARRIOR MAC (8) last-start and may be a smoky again today. Presidentialsecret A superbly bred sibling of Living Bonus and Dieing Secret who worked home stylishly behind Yankee Rockstar on debut. He won't be a maiden for long. SPRINT LANE with JASON BONNINGTON One-horse race: Restrepo wins the 4YO Bonanza with relative ease. Bolter: Jodi Quinlen and Craig Demmler. Races liven up AFTER a week of controversy, the 2013 Inter Dominion Series was saved by 90 minutes of sensational racing on Saturday night. Heavily clouded by the Friday night scratching of Karloo Mick and the race- morning removal of Smoken Up, ID13 was in search of something special. Fortunately, divine intervention would come in the form of five heats, which saw each of the series' headline horses succeed in thrilling, ominous fashion. First up in Auckland, dual NZ Cup-winner Terror To Love was arrogant defeating high-profile compatriots Sir Lincoln and Gold Ace after coming from last in the run. That performance was followed by a welcome return from NSW flagship pacer Excel Stride, who outstayed Pub Blitz and Chariot King for his heat success. Victoria Cup winner Caribbean Blaster was next, bullying his way to the front in Melton's ID heat before resisting late charges from Keayang Cullen and the renascent Jaccka Clive. Hunter Cup champion Mah Sish then recorded the most predictable of victories in Menangle's supplementary heat before Im Themightyquinn destroyed his rivals in Perth. Ultimately, the two wildcard entries for Menangle's March 3 final were hardly required, although Dasher VC and four- time Treuer Memorial winner Washakie benefited from their deployment. Terror To Love is the $2.80 ID favourite with TAB clear, of fellow heat winners Im Themightyquinn ($3.50), Mah Sish ($6.50) and Caribbean Blaster ($7.50). Restrepo reigns IT wasn't the match-race many were wanting, but Saturday night's 4YO Bonanza did prove that Restrepo is every bit as good as his reputation would have us believe. With direct qualification for the Group 1 Chariots of Fire at stake, the Bonanza was promoted as a head-to-head battle between Restrepo and Kiwi wonder horse Smolda. But after Restrepo found the front and Smolda became buried between runners at the 800m mark, that battle never played out, with the former holding the latter with ease. ''I had the barrier (advantage) on him (Smolda) for a start, especially over the short journey,'' Restrepo's reinsman Gavin Lang said. ''Smolda was going to have to run something special to beat us. Well have some battles again in the future, no doubt.'' That next battle, in the Chariots of Fire at Menangle, could upstage the Inter Dominion Final with Restrepo and Smolda to be joined by Hondo Grattan- winning Kiwi star Christen Me. Tasty Caesar PARWAN trainer/driver Craig Demmler will take an exciting team to Menangle next week, but none will be in better form than Ladyship Cup winner Pembrook Caesar. A dramatic improver since arriving from New Zealand, the giant daughter of Julius Caesar has gone from a CO to an M2 in less than four months and has now qualified for the Group 1 Ladyship Mile. ''I've been lucky enough to have some fantastic mares in Christian Melody and Glenferrie Alexis, but this one is a combination of the two and might be our best one yet,'' Demmler said. He will also set Glenferrie Shuffle and perhaps Glenferrie EJ for the NSW Oaks series and Cyamach, who reminds him of Breenys Fella, for the NSW Derby.
