He has the tricky gate to overcome here, plus he takes on the older horses for the first time, but he doesn't meet a strong lot and with any luck whatsoever he should be too good. DANGER: ROWILLIE (5) comes off a C0 series where he finished fourth in both heat and final behind Thisiswhoiam at Yarra Valley and Melton and he isn't far off breaking through for his first win this season. He has gate speed, will race forward and looks the main threat to THE KIMURA (8), if any. OTHERS: IN THE PRESENT (6) got into strife shortly after the start at Kilmore last time so put a line through that performance and he has an upset chance tonight with better luck. MINTROPOLITAN (3) and THE SYSTEM VILLAGE (11) are the other blowouts with ROMAN ABBEY (7), LIFE LONG VOYAGE (10) and SMOKIN FIELDS (1) given place claims. RATINGS: 8/ 5/ 6/ 3/ 11/ 7,10,1/ 2,4 SUGGESTED BET: THE KIMURA (8) to win 2 Choice Hotels 3YO Pace 7.00 2100m. $5000. 3yo 3C0 To 3C1 PBD Mobile 1 46064 I WANT CANDY Emmett Brosnan Fr 8.50 2 7s707 CRAZY DAVE Michael Bellman Fr 51.00 3 3 REIGN OF PAIN Rodney Petroff Fr 15.00 4 62729 DAGATI IMAGE Scratched Fr --- 5 32574 CLANCYS FOBWATCH Chris (Jnr) Lang Fr 21.00 6 12 SHAKTI BROMAC NZ Greg Sugars Fr 4.00 7 2511s GLENFERRIE COLLEGE Jodi Quinlan Fr 2.50 Second Line 8 8s BROADWAY PLAYBOY Chris Alford Fr 2.70 9 734 FEARLESS COURAGE Danny Simpson Fr 26.00 TOP PICK: GLENFERRIE COLLEGE (7) resumes from a 5-month break tonight off the back of two recent trials at Melton, the latest a strong victory 8 days ago in 1:59.8 where he finished off in 28.2 and this talented Craig Demmler trainee should take plenty of beating in this first up despite the car park draw. DANGER: BROADWAY PLAYBOY (8) hasn't been seen since finishing down the track behind Bliss Man in a heat of the Breeders Crown at Ballarat back in July last year and is now under the care of Emma Stewart for whom he has trialled nicely for at Ballarat a month ago where he slipped home in 27.1. He has the awkward barrier first up but is sure to be well-fancied. OTHERS: SHAKTI BROMAC (6) demolished his rivals on debut at Yarra Valley and was expected to repeat the dose at Maryborough 10 days later but he found The Kimura just a touch too good for him. He takes on two smart types here but he has plenty of talent and is not without a chance. I WANT CANDY (1) looms as the upset from the ace alley with REIGN OF PAIN (3), CLANCYS FOBWATCH (5) and FEARLESS COURAGE (9) having place prospects. DANGER: CALEDONIAN BREEZE (6) made a mess of the standing start first up from a break at Melton 11 days ago and ended up out the back behind Drop Us Aline but she has since trialled well there and will run well in this with a faultless display. OTHERS: PICTURE OF HOPE (8) tried hard when second to Mister Pepe at Maryborough last start and will be a force on that effort along with STRAPPERSSPUR (2) and SUNWHIZ (10). THE NIGHT WIND (3) and SAMARAS DREAM (5) can place. RATINGS: 7/ 6/ 8/ 2,10/ 3,5/ 4 SUGGESTED BET: BITTEN BY WALHALLA (7) to win 4 Comfort Inn Eastern Sands 8.00 2100m. $5000. He looks well suited tonight as he is a chance of getting the lead and will take plenty of running down should that scenario play out. DANGER: ITSNEWSTOME (8) is a former Kiwi 5YO now under the care of Glenn Douglas so he immediately commands respect. He arrives here with some handy form next to his name and expect this bloke to be a factor first up with the right fortune from his awkward barrier. OTHERS: FUNNY CAR (7) has had the three runs this season and looks ready to win now after his latest third to Real Bonus at Shepparton where he got a long way back in the run and hit the line hard out wide in a 56.4 final half. He draws widely here and will need a few things to go his way but he should be hard to hold out with the right luck. BOUT TIME (6) beat G K Galleon at Melton three back in 1:55.5 but his two efforts since have been below that level. He will need to lift to win this but he has the ability to go with these and must be included along with OUR MISS VIVIENNE (2) while JOHNNY ARMBROS (5), THIS IS YOUR LIFE (4) and VILLAGE PEACH (1) can be added to your multiples combinations. RATINGS: 3/ 8/ 7,6/ 2/ 5,4,1/ 9,10 SUGGESTED BET: AMAZING KANO (3) each way on a 1 x 3 basis 5 Comfort Inn Bay City Pace 8.30 1609m. $5000. He looks the leader once more from the pole draw and should prove hard to gun down. DANGER: TRYSOMEMAGIC (8) hasn't been dangerous at his past three since beating Absolutely Awesome at Ballarat but this does look a suitable race for him as he should be coiled up on the back of OUR HORIZON (1) from the trailing draw and will be a force to be reckoned with once he sees daylight in the stretch. OTHERS: FOLDEM (11) is a front-of-the-field horse so the draw isn't ideal but he does face a class drop tonight after running a handy fourth to Future Operator here last start in a heat of the Provincial Cup and he is in the mix along with MISTER BELLISIMO (2) who has trialled well at Shepparton recently for his return and draws to be prominent throughout. MONARCO PLAYBOY (5), SLIPPINALONG (4), BOHEMIAN LOMBO (10) and STAR OF PARIS (9) have place claims. He has the 10m jump on main rival MILITARY PRECISION (11) and that may be just enough to see him home here. DANGER: MILITARY PRECISION (11) made a mistake when outside the leader at Melton last Friday night, galloped excessively and was subsequently disqualified but his form prior was most consistent and well up to winning a race of this nature so if he goes around safely tonight he will be in the finish. OTHERS: MAN OF THE WORLD (4) put his best hoof forward at Terang last start to get the cash and with the claim for Haydon Gray having him well-placed here expect a another forward showing. KEYSTONE BLUES (13) was a big winner at Warragul two runs ago and his latest fourth at Cranbourne to Earl Or Nothing in one of these races was quite good. It is always hard to win off the backmark over the sprint stand distance but he cannot be underestimated. BONSPIEL DELIGHT (1) and MARIOS DREAM (8) are also in the mix. She won't be fully wound up for this but she is top shelf when on song and this race looks well within her grasp first up. DANGER: TYLER BROMAC (11) wasn't right first up from a spell at Maryborough 12 days ago when fourth to Flash Of Freedom as a hot favourite and was stood down pending a vet certificate, but obviously everything is OK now otherwise John Justice wouldn't be starting him. His form was super and if he produces somewhere near his best tonight he will be nigh on impossible to hold out. OTHERS: OUR FLASH OF FIRE (4) is working up to another win after handy efforts at his past two behind quality types Just Live Life and Real Bonus and he looks the most likely to cause a mini boilover. HELLOVANITE (5), LIVELY OPERATIVE (6), MISTER RUFUS (8), ALL AUSSIE STAR (2) and LOMBO ROYAL FLUSH (1) can all get into the placings without surprising. Readers are urged to check TAB information with the official lists before placing their bets. Chance to shine TRAINER Craig Demmler is riding the crest of a wave with mare Pembrook Caesar and filly Glenferrie Shuffle, but two other resuming stars will take centre stage at Geelong tonight. Exciting colt Glenferrie College is first-up since September in the Choice Hotels Three-Year-Old Pace, fresh from a comfortable trial victory at Melton. Illawong Sister Styx returns from an eight-month spell in the Geelong Pacing Cup 23rd Feb Pace, the final event on tonight's Beckley Park card. A $2.50 favourite with Harness Racing Victoria form expert Michael Polster, Glenferrie College faces a strong field that includes Broadway Playboy ($2.70) and Shakti Bromac ($4). Illawong Sister Styx is a $2.20 favourite in her race, but faces stiff opposition from the John Justice- trained Tyler Bromac ($2.50). Assassins rule PROMINENT owner Pam Hockham was among the team to win Tabcorp Park's inaugural Good Form Punters' Challenge and the $4000 first prize on Saturday night. Hockham and son Mark comprised The Smiling Assassins. They turned a $400 opening bank balance into more than $2000 from races three to 10 at Melton. More than 40 teams entered the on-course challenge, which went down to the wire. In an advertisement for punting prowess, 35 were alive approaching the final event, but The Smiling Assassins' trifecta in race 10 secured their success. Busy Blaster CARIBBEAN Blaster's penchant for backing up quickly for major events will continue. The Victoria Cup winner will compete in the Geelong Cup this weekend and the Inter Dominion final on March 3. In August, Andy Gath's superstar son of Bettors Delight raced three times in a week. His success in the third race --- the Breeders Crown Final for four-year-old males --- has inspired Gath to adopt similar tactics in the next fortnight. Caribbean Blaster is likely to be the only Inter Dominion finalist racing this weekend. Among his rivals at Geelong will be former Victorian Horse of the Year Melpark Major and sit-sprint specialist Highview Tommy. In the Trotters Cup at Beckley Park, Elegant Image will continue his build-up toward the Great Southern against My High Expectations, Aleppo Midas and Earl Of Mot. Field is all class SATURDAY week's Inter Dominion finalists boast more than $12 million in prizemoney and 35 Group 1 wins between them. Heading the list is Im Themightyquinn, with 11 Group 1 successes, including the past two Inter Dominions, and more than $3.7 million in prizemoney. Next is wildcard entrant Washakie, with eight Group 1 wins and almost $1.7 million in earnings. Five of the 14 horses are yet to taste Group 1 glory. Among them will be back-to-back Kilmore Cup winner Bitobliss, who sneaks into the $750,000 final as first emergency after Dasher VC's scratching yesterday afternoon.
