If he had an inside draw I'd be a lot more confident because he loves to rail. JOHN NORDEN SAYS He has a great record from wide draws but the reality is that against this quality of opposition he may struggle to keep up with them early. I'll be happy if he runs a place. SANDRA COLLINS SAYS She won the Cranbourne Cup from box 6, the Temlee from box 8 and her Australian Cup heat from box 6, so I'm starting to think that wide draws suit her and she just keeps on surprising us. BEN ABERCROMBIE SAYS This is a tough assignment but she is a natural competitor with an amazing will to win. She's only little but she thrives on the hustle and bustle of racing. TONY BRETT SAYS He can't lead but he can match motors with any dog in this race and all he needs is a bit of room. If there is interference out in front they'll definitely know he's around. JASON THOMPSON SAYS Her early speed has helped her win 20 races from 33 starts. She will need to lead to win, but with two group victories to her name she has shown she can perform when it really counts. KELVYN GREENOUGH SAYS He's not quick enough to lead but he's very strong and if he can stay within a length or two of the front-runners he could be part of an exciting finish. ANDREA DAILLY SAYS Box 1 is exactly what he needs. He won the (Group 1) Adelaide Cup at a young age and he has regained his best form at the right time. 7 5 6 4 3 2 1 8 $2.90 $5.50 $4.80 $7 $9.50 $8.50 $6.50 $21 9 IMA GEISHA GIRL Black female Bombastic Shiraz x Elite Oriental TRAINER Jason Thompson STARTS 29 (16-5-1) PRIZEMONEY $113,955 THE MEADOWS 7 (3-3-0) FASTEST MEADOWS TIME 29.85sec 10 DYNA FILBERT Red fawn male Bombastic Shiraz x Dyna Panama TRAINER Graeme Bate STARTS 42 (7-16-5) PRIZEMONEY $42,720 THE MEADOWS 17 (2-5-3) FASTEST MEADOWS TIME 30.20sec $5 $26 Inside word on special PLENTY of punters like backing box 1 runners, and tonight TAB is giving you the chance to cash in on this. ''There are two Group 1 races at The Meadows and box q is right in the market in both of them with Spud Regis ($2.90) in the Australian Cup and Destini Fireball ($2) in the Superstayers Final,'' TAB's Adam Hamilton said. ''We are offering $6.50 on the double with the bet found on the tab.com.au website under the racing extras section.'' Expect plenty of punters to take advantage of this offer and be cheering for the red runner. Nick Quinn Prize title on the line Nick Quinn WITH Miata scratched from tonight's Group 1 Super Stayers Final, Queensland star Glen Gallon has the chance to become Aust- ralian greyhound racing's highest prizemoney earner. Rated a $7 chance with TAB fixed odds, Glen Gallon will take his winnings to $730,000 if successful in tonight's Australian Cup at The Meadows, surpassing Miata's total of $690,000. Destini Fireball, easily the best-backed runner, is the new race favourite. ''After the heats we opened him at $4 and punters reacted by backing him into $2.90, and he was clearly our worst result,'' the TAB's Jason Cauchi said. Miata was the $1.80 favourite before her scratch- ing. After the news, punters again came for Destini Fire- ball. ''We wound him into $2, and the way the money is coming he could start even shorter by race time,'' Cauchi said. Destini Fireball has drawn perfectly in box 1. During the Australian Cup there will be plenty of ner- vous TAB punters who se- cured as much as $9 about current $2.90 favourite Spud Regis. The other plunge has been for Western Australian chaser Hot Irish, who is into $9.50 after being $31. Include Gallon in calculations Nick Quinn NICK QUINN'S QUADDIE RACE 5: (Leg 1) 1,4 RACE 6: (Leg 2) 1,6,7,9 RACE 7: (Leg 3) 1,2,4,5,7,8 RACE 8: (Leg 4) 1,2,3,4,5,7 $100 for 34.72 per cent. TONIGHT'S meeting at The Meadows will boast a $400,000 guaranteed quaddie pool with TAB getting things rolling by injecting $85,000. One greyhound that could run a big race in the Australian Cup is Glen Gallon, who despite the tricky draw in box 4, is over the odds at $7. Glen Gallon will be stalk- ing the lead and is worth including in multiples, especially the quaddie. The best leg in which to go skinny looks to be the first, race five. The Jason Thompson- trained Ima Geisha Girl looks hard to beat after narrowly missing a place in the Australian Cup final. She was run down by Glen Gallon in the last stride of their heat last Saturday night. We suggest taking her and Anathema, who should get every chance from the inside box. 54 SPORT SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 2013 HERALDSUN.COM.AU
