He had been trialling stylishly on this circuit prior to that and although he draws poorly tonight he meets a moderate lot and should be much too good. DANGER: MOR LAAG (6) is yet to win in 11 runs but he has been placed in 3 of his 7 outings this season and it won't be long before he busts his maiden. He bumps into a smart one tonight however and will have to settle for some minor money. OTHERS: HELENSHALL (3) has been racing against the likes of Sapphire Swayze, Ymbro Awesome and Artique of late without looking dangerous but she hasn't been too far away and from the handy gate she is a must include in you multiples along with METROMINT (2), THE SYSTEM VILLAGE (4) and TERRA BEAU (1). He had shown glimpses of talent in the past when trained by Kevin Robertson and judging by that Horsham triumph Courtney Slater has found the key to this bloke and he would only need to reproduce a similar effort here to make light work of this lot. DANGER: BLISSFULL SPANKER (8) hasn't really fired in four goes this time in and he will need to lift but he draws to follow out likely leader SEMPER FI (1) and if that mare can get him to the sprint lane with momentum in the straight he is not without a chance. OTHERS: SEMPER FI (1) ran her best race for a while at Kilmore last Thursday night when fifth to Statelyness after sitting in the breeze and with the lead hers for the taking from the pole she can give some cheek at odds. NICMAC BROMAC (7) and MISS DILLY (3) look the other ones in with a shot with GIRLS GOT ATTITUDE (2) given a place chance. RATINGS: 9/ 8/ 1/ 7/ 3/ 2/ 4,5 SUGGESTED BET: EL SABIO (9) to win 3 Decron Horse Care Trot 7.30 2080m. $5000. He wasn't suited by barrier 1 that night and will appreciate being out in the open this time around so barring incident or bad manners he should be much too good. DANGER: MISTER GUNSEN (9) had every possible chance at Kilmore last Thursday night when fourth to Brylin Crescent after setting the pace and he will be no match for BLITZTHEMCALDER (4) but he does do everything right and has a strong place chance. OTHERS: DAWN TEARS (7) has really improved of late and will be winning a moderate race shortly but tonight she will have to settle for a minor place along with SUNWHIZ (10), MONICA MY DEAR (8), YERINGBERG (6), SAMARAS DREAM (3) and BLARING (1). DANGER: EVIL TRICKSTER (8) is nearing another win after placing behind Nats Survival and Downtools at his past two and with a cheap run on the markers expected from his trailing gate he is sure to be dangerous. OTHERS: DICKY BEACH (9) comes off a handy third to Obama in a similar race to this here 19 days ago and has strong each way claims with chances also going to AFTERMIDNIGHT SAM (7), SLIPPINALONG (4) and INCLINATOR (6) at longer odds RATINGS: 1/ 8/ 9/ 7/ 4,6,2/ 5 SUGGESTED BET: FAKE LACE (1) to win 5 Aussie Home Loans Pace 8.30 1609m. $5000. She comes up with a much better gate tonight, will race in a forward position and in an open contest she looks hardest to beat. DANGER: SAMANTHA SPARKLE (10) gets into this well with the mares' concession and she will appreciate the drop in class after mixing it with the likes of Atomic Horizon, Real Bonus and Ashira Bromac at her past three. The draw isn't ideal for her but if she can gain a decent tag into it from the rear watch for her to be running home strongly. OTHERS: FOLDEM (9) was disappointing as a warm favourite at Hamilton last start where he led and missed the place behind Mister Huxtable but he wasn't too bad in defeat behind Our Horizon at Geelong prior to that and is not without a chance in this. JUMBALAYA LOMBO (8) and THE DELIRAMA (6) are also in the mix with place hopes going to LIVE N REALITY (1), JOES BEAUTY (5) and STARLIGHT LOGAN (4). He has a much better barrier this time around, should be first to the pegs and from there Gavin Lang will give this bloke every chance. DANGER: BIG TIMER LOMBO (11) is resuming from a break tonight off the back of an easy trial success on this circuit 17 days ago where he slipped home in 28.3 and although drawn poorly first up he has his share of talent and should run well. OTHERS: IM A PEREGRINE (12) only ran home fairly here last time when sixth to Sookin Up but he wasn't too bad behind the flying Artique on this track prior and he has an each way show in this, although he will need a bit to go his way. LIVING ON COURAGE (5) and LOCAL VICKA LOMBO (8) are the upsets with OPEN HEART (2) given a place hope. He begins like a rocket off the arm, looks the leader and is sure to take running down first up. DANGER: ATOMIC HORIZON (9) has never raced better and indicated another victory is not far away with a game second to the smart All I Can Be at Melton last start where he led them up and battled on bravely in 1:53.7 for the short course. He will have to earn it tonight from the second row draw but is well up to the challenge. OTHERS: GUMDROPS (6) has trialled well at Melton since finishing third to Majestic Reign here back in mid-January and looks the other main winning chance with upset hopes going to AMAZING KANO (3) and THE COURAGE WITHIN (4). RATINGS: 5/ 9/ 6/ 3,4/ 10,7/ 1/ 8/ 2 SUGGESTED BET: WE NEVER SAY DIE (5) to win 8 Mark Gurry & Associates 10.00 2080m. $5000. He strikes a weak race first up and should be a shade too good. DANGER: HEREUX HOMME (6) will be his only threat. He has snared the silver medal at his past two outings behind handy types Artique and Lavra Florence and has his hoof on the till. Second chance VICTORIAN Trotter of the Year Blitzthemcalder will seek to atone for his shock first-up defeat when he starts in the Decron Horse Care Trot at Cranbourne tonight. Crowned the state's best squaregaiter last season on the strength of his Vicbred Super Series and Breeders Crown successes, Blitzthemcalder has been dubbed a champion of the future. But after breaking stride late first- up at Melton, Ross Payne's pacing- bred son of Metropolitan is searching for his first three-year-old triumph. Drawn perfectly in barrier four, Blitzthemcalder is a $1.10 favourite, according to Harness Racing Victoria form expert Michael Polster. If the young star makes another error tonight, Mister Gunsen ($10) and Dawn Tears ($15) are rated most likely to beat him. Key qualifier NSW squaregaiter Keystone Del has become the latest Great Southern Star qualifier, courtesy of his Group 1 Glenferrie Challenge win at Menangle on Sunday. Pitted against superstar Kiwi trotter Stig and three-time Group 1 winner I Didnt Do It, Nicole Molander's son of Dr Ronerail continued his outstanding form with an upset victory. So far, 14 horses have qualified for the Great Southern Star at Melton on March 23. I Can Doosit will miss the series and Charlemagne is also a doubtful starter. European raider Ridgehead Cahore had a difficult start to his Great Southern Star campaign when galloping in transit at Melton at the weekend. Victorian warhorse Earl Of Mot staked a claim for one of two wildcard selections for the $350,000 series with his win. Auckland-bound TRIPLE Inter Dominion champion Im Themightyquinn will be hoping for more Group 1 success this week when he crosses the Tasman for the $250,000 Auckland Cup. Gary Hall Sr's pacer was breathtaking in his Inter Dominion triumph at Menangle on Sunday. He will now target his second Auckland Cup, after winning the race in 2011. Among his rivals on Friday night at Alexandra Park will be dual New Zealand Cup winner Terror To Love, NZ Free-For-All champ Gold Ace and Perth four-year-old Im Victorious. The Group 1 Great Northern Derby will be another highlight of the meeting. Ohoka Punter, Adore Me and Border Control are all engaged. The juveniles will step out in the Group 1 Cardigan Bay Stakes, where luckless last-start runner Isaiah will be among the hardest to beat. Four for Bellman GRAMPIANS reinsman Michael Bellman had a red-letter day at Charlton on Sunday, with four wins, including the Charlton Pacing Cup. Bellman is having a super season and is seventh on the Victorian premiership table after guiding Baltimore Moy, Classic Bliss, Drunken Desire and Uncle Wingnut to victory at Charlton. Pacing Cup winner, former Kiwi Uncle Wingnut, is in rich form after nine months on Aussie soil. Sunday's other big winner was Motu Young Jacob, who won the Charlton Trotters Cup for Lance Justice.
